I was hoping to learn more about pumps, as specially when the video starts out with "everything you need to know". Could you make a video about the more technical side of the pump, like what all the stuff on the label means (pressure, PSI, H(m), H max, etc). Right now its hard to find information, I have no clue what the power of the pump should be for a particular kind of sand filter. Is my pump too powerfull or too light. Can my current pump handle the new filter that I want to buy? I have no clue how to check that.
Hi. Closing the pool last season, I used a compressor at 25psi to blow out my bottom drains. The compressor was hooked up to the hayward basket filter sp2607x10. After shutting down my second drain, before I could shut off my compressor, I heard a very discernable pop, then water dripping from underneath the basket rolling down the concrete pad. It wasn't a lot of water coming out. What happened? Is there a rubber gasket that blew, or did I brake the basket? Thank you.
It's hard to say what the noise is having not been there. Have you re-opened your pool yet? I'm curious if your pump experiencing air or it's holding suction okay.
You may need to run your pump more often. But if you have an automated timer, you could just run it for a half hour during the times the pump is normally off to keep the water in the spillover fresh and chlorinated.
Thank you Matt! I really appreciate all you’ve helped me with on our above ground pool. I’ll be getting your book, and purchasing the class very soon. Can’t live without it in the Texas heat.🥵 Best wishes! 👍👍👌💦
Pump basket, lid seal, lid connection is a plastic wear point. Most expensive part to replace. Don’t open pump basket weekly. Keep a clean pool instead

I've been a pool owner in Arizona for 24 years and find all of your videos extremely helpful and at a minimum a refresher. Thank you!
Glad to help! Always here as a refresher

What if you have a spillover spa? How does this change things?
