I love how unhurriedly he plays this piece and that he is never "above" playing simple pieces such as this. His interpretations of Fur Elise is also divine. He has shown that he is a teaching ambassador not only in the name but also in practice, inspiring people to start - one is never too famous or too advanced to to play and enjoy simple pieces like these. Much respect!
Thanks lang lang for playing this relatively simple piece... my daughter has been practicing it and she was so inspired by watching this video. She said she wanted to play the music as beautiful as you.
So expressive. He squeezes every last drop of juice out of the piece and adds the Baroque ornaments which you won't see notated but we're expected during the Baroque era.
@@qwadratixsorry tô ask, but would send me the sheets in email, please ? I've learning this piece, but I cant find any good one :( . Thank you very much 🙏🏻🙂
@@Nicolas.samsoniuk I got mine from amazon (15 GBP) . It's supposedly the best selling version. It's a plain blue book with title and text in German and English. It's worth buying the book because it has much more than just this piece and it's counterpart in G minor.
Lovely. It's understandable why this popular minuet was attributed to Bach. Not only because of the fact that it was an anonymous piece included in the 1725 Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach, but also because its composition style is very similar to Bach's, without a doubt. You play it in the right Baroque style and in an original way. It is the way Bach's music should be interpreted, as well. You should play and record some of Bach's preludes, fugues, partitas, and suites, once in a while. They are jewels. If you interpret them, the way you interpret this minuet, it'll definitely be something worth having in our collection. Bravo!!

I want to say a big thank you for your comment/comments (how many it may be), your love and support , I created this channel to reach out to fans and you are amazing❤️❤️. where are you from?
This beautiful piece is sadly overshadowed by the other Minuet in G (major). People rarely talk about or do a cover of this particular Minuet in G minor. I’m so glad Lang Lang did a cover.
To some of the most conservative classical experts, this could be "too much", since it doesn't sound as baroque anymore. However, if you just think about it, the interpretative decisions that he made were mainly and only based on 1) the phrase structure 2) the harmonic sonorities that Bach laid out throughout the phrases (harmony is king in Bach literature). This is why I would approve this version, because even though it's a very bold or unorthodox interpretation, it's both enjoyable and well thought.
Definitely a nice interpretation but RCM examiners wouldn’t accept it wholeheartedly during an exam for the reasons you first mentioned (as far as I know).
How would you feel if somebody made fun of your name? Langlang means Brilliance in chinese, it has nothing to do with the english sounding word. You might have thought you made an innocent harmless joke, but it isn't

I have a copy of the AM notebook published by G. Henle Verlag that shows the ornamentation exactly note-for-note the way LL plays it here.

I agree if I don't know the composer I would definitely guess Bach for how suitable and baroque it feels
This is the G minor companion to its more famous G major brother and is rarely heard.
it would likely be associated to petzold, but with no doubts, it's a simple and very beautiful piece.
Absolutely. brilliant.and devine!!. Best heartfelt inspirational interpretation of this piece I have ever heard
I like how he changes it a little bit at the repeating of last part. Amazing piece, amazing performance!
Lang Lang never disappoints! Excellent
It's worth waiting for. I can't believe Bach's minuet is so pretty. Thank you very much for the wonderful music.
It even says in the title that it‘s not from Bach lmao
Thanks~^^

and see that he loves what he is playing and plays it with heart and soul...
Loved it!!! The most beautiful interpretation of this minuet!!!
Minunat! Frumoasă interpretarea.👏👏👏
If someone played it like this for an exam at that level.... Love the simple pieces done right.
+1, just cause it's simple it doesn't mean it's not pure Bach genius with LangLang's awesome skills in it.
The simplest songs are the hardest ones to master in phrasing. This guy has some of the greatest phrasing among solo instrumentalists.

In my opinion they should both be played together, without a pause in between. It works very well. First the G Major piece, then the G Minor.
