"Tapping into Water Solutions" - 2023 Okanagan Basin Water Board Annual Meeting Highlights

The Okanagan Basin Water Board (OBWB) held its 2023 Annual Meeting on Sept. 8 at Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna.
The event began with a welcoming from Syilx Elder and Knowledge Keeper Grouse Barnes, and opening remarks from OBWB Chair Sue McKortoff.
Mathieu Bourbonnais, former wildland firefighter and a UBC Okanagan Associate Professor in the Earth, Environmental and Geographic Sciences Dept., then provided a keynote presentation on "Fire, water, and the changing Okanagan landscape - applications and opportunities for solutions using remote sensing in the Okanagan Basin."
OBWB's Executive Director Anna Warwick Sears presented the 2023 Annual Report: Tapping into Water Solutions, providing an update on the many projects and programs that the OBWB has delivered during the past year.
And, OBWB Communication's Director Corinne Jackson announced the 2023 "Make Water Work Champion Community" - the community having collected the most pledges per capita to conserve water during the summer.
