Very informative video. I would never have found this on my own. Thank you for your great work!

Good to hear this was helpful. I also did not know about it until I played around with it and realized it actually is very useful. Their manual also is not much help.

Thank you for posting this tutorial, a lot to take in but very effective. Like all of these type of tutorials well worth keeping and re- watching over again.

Thanks for the feedback. Needs some practice to get the hang of if you've never used luminosity masking tools before. But they are really useful.

After ON1 rearranged the UI on 2024 they totally made it less user friendly so I still use ON1 2023. BTW that was the best tutorial of the luminosity mask and where it hides in 2024.

Interesting I actually thought they simplified the UI for 2024! Glad to hear your feedback. I do believe ON1's luminosity is not known a lot of people. Personally, I didn't know about it until I was doing all these reviews of other luminosity masks and found out ON1 had one after all and was pretty good!

Thanks for this review! Good stuff. New to this app but still having a few problems..... like de-selecting a function if I decide I don't want to use it. Like some mask selections and "resize". Once selected, how do I just escape out of it with closing the image or affecting previous settings. I keep thinking I'm missing something very obvious...but still eluding me!!

Hi can't blame you for being confused. Masking operations select and deselect behave differently depending on the mask you used. Perhaps you can mention what specific masking tools you are using and I can give some advice 😊

@@takebetterphotos8132 Thanks, well I think I figured out how to get out of the Super Select AI masking by clicking on crop and then exit that... But "resize" in the bumper bar on the right....once selected, can't seem to find a way to cancel. Have to save the image and re-open. Now I know "don't DO that" but a lot of processes aren't very intuitive. Seems a bit buggy though faster than the last time when I tried earlier version which I couldn't use at all. Also can't escape from an AI process. Not a problem with my system with the higher powered GPU but is a problem for the slower one. Especially when I close the image, come back later and am stuck for awhile. I like some of the functions but having some issues as I try to learn this. Thanks again for your response.

Your observations sound about right, unintuitive processes --buggy but improved from the last time. Hopefully they continue improving on this years 2025 release. :)
