You have spared no expense to build your dream hot rod. I restored a 1964 comet cyclone and like you went well beyond bringing it back to stock but upgraded brakes, suspension, engine, exhaust, etc. The true joy was the year it took to build the car. When I sold the car I took the hit 50% loss when selling a hot rod. I am always amazed when beautiful hot rods go across the ramp at car auctions at a fraction of what they cost to build. That being said I never regretted the project. My grandson and I spent spent hours on the car that I otherwise might have never spent with him. I know the addage " You want a hot rod buy one don't build one" but thats for people who don't enjoy or know how to build cars. You are doing a wonderful job, thanks for sharing
Many Thanks, You nailed here! My younger brother and I did up a 64 comet cyclone way back in the day as well, very cool car! I know I will never recoup the money and especially the over 1200 hours of time invested but everyday I look at that once bone stock Nova and know that I touched every nut and bolt on that car and built it the best I could within my budget, well a lot over budget, brings a ton of satisfaction! Thank you for tuning in and for your wonderful comment! Cheers, Ray
This thing is b-e-a-utiful

Looks like a sweet ride! Need to get the speed o fixed so you can keep track of the smiles per gallon!! 😎
Oh heck yea Brian, Autometer said to braid the ground wire with the signal wire to shield from electrical interference, hopefully it will work. So far just idling I burned through 10 gallons of fuel but it’s not tuned yet.

Very slick! Take this back to 1970 and show it to the Chevy engineers and make them wet themselves. 😁 496? wtf?
Thoughts on an anti-theft system? She's singin' a siren song for thieves...
I'd be inclined to go with a well secreted systems disable switch (or switches) - manual disables, rather than easily hackable RFID key and fob. And maybe some sort of Air-Tag GPS tracker for additional protection.
Thanks Gerry, I do have built in securities and air tags are a must, unfortunately this can not stop someone from just dragging it away! I will not be leaving it unattended at any time or any place. My house and shop are protected like Fort Knox...
Gerry, Ray is such an amazing guy with so much talent. He’s just good in what he does.
Id love to know you better, thats only if you dont mind cos you seems to be a nice and very cool person

Thanks for this video, its helped me make some discissions on my build. I'm undecided on just keeping the rear springs and 275 tires or doing the ridetech upgrade like yours. I don't plan on racing it so I'm not sure its worth the money to upgrade from springs to coil overs? Is the ride much better and would you recommend it?
I do not plan on racing but did want a good handling car with the ability of making adjustments. I do reccomend the Ridetech 4-link cradle and coil-over set up, you do not have to mini tub your car for this system and with the double adjustable link bars you have full rear axle adjustment. I hope this helps with your build.
sounds good ray, very nice work on that car, top notch, why the o2 sensor does the fuel system require it, does it behoove you, or is it for pollution requirements
Hi Tom, The Holley Sniper uses the O2 to self learn/self tune the ECU for best performance.
@@RaysGarage thanks for the reply ray you have done a fantastic job on the car, looks like a mint chassis, very impressed
@@tomgiorgini9154 Many Thanks Tom!

Nice car wonder if it's gonna pass shifty Cali emissions
Thankfully up to 1976 is exempt from California’s bullshit!!!
Ray, does the 3000-stall convertor retain the lockup clutch and function?
Hi Joel, The US Shift Quick 4 allows you to custom tune your trans, shit points, firmness, TCC Lock up, Line pressure, on and on.... Something I'm going to be playing with once I start driving it more.
I need to ask that same question cos i need to get things clear now.
