Utah’s Anti-Trans Bathroom Snitch Line Flooded by Trolls with Memes & Fake Reports

  • Earlier this year Utah banned trans people from using bathrooms on local or state facilities that align with their gender identities. To enforce this draconian law, the state established a snitch line that allows anyone to submit violations they encounter. As soon as the snitch line went live, pro-LGBTQ+ people flooded it with memes and false reports about Republicans like Matt Gaetz and Sarah Huckabee Sanders. In this video we’ll dissect the law and look at some of the funniest “violations” people submitted.

Instead of asking, what the fuck were the parents doing for a kid that was still in elementary to know how to do that shit? Like, seriously, no one was questioning that the kid's upbringing and parents have to be seriously fucked for something like that to happen.

What happens when a gay gentleman goes into the men's restroom or a lesbian goes into a ladies bathroom. Should we feel threatened? This is just another one of those laws that are designed to make the republican base feel better. Using the rest room isn't a choice it's a necessity. I’m honestly surprised we haven’t already returned to the “should the gays be allowed in the same restrooms, locker rooms, etc. as the straights” debate.
In my head canon for how that shit would happen, some manosphere influencer is going to point out that all these folks are talking about protecting women and girls, but boys get left out of the discussion. After that gets a little traction, someone like Matt Walsh will catch wind of it and go “You’re exactly right that these man haters don’t care about you all. Just see all the degenerate things “they” do [insert images from Folsom Street Fair].”
From there, the greater conservative media picks it up and hammers on it for two months straight. In that time, Republican politicians start weighing in with their concurrences that those darn evil, confused groomers (used synonymously with gay people because they can’t let a good panic die) can’t be allowed to be near little Tommy and Jimmy.

On a more serious note: I’ll forever feel grateful to the male-to-female transgender angel who came barrelling out of the ladies’ bathroom of a club when a man was harassing me whilst I was fleeing towards it. The men’s bathroom was quite a distance away. If she’d been using the bathroom dedicated to the gender she was assigned at birth, I’d have been in trouble.

That story about the woman in Vegas being mistaken for a trans man perfectly encapsulates why transphobia is dangerous and toxic to cis people; human beings aren't cookie cutter caricatures of sentience, but complicated beings with differing thoughts, feelings and identities, with uncountable ways of expressing those thoughts, feelings and identities. The worst part is, I'm willing to bet that the transphobic woman didn't even apologize for terrorizing someone completely inncoent of the crime she's so scared of.

I know my grandma, which I what point out is a lesbian, was technically born a woman and doesn't identify as a man. In fact the jeans and the polo she had on was from the women's section. However she doesn't wear a bra for comfort reasons, but you can still clearly tell she has breasts. She also wears her hair really short, to be fair she did have short haircuts growing up but now it's more out of a necessity of balding. However aw years back she was using the women's restroom at a Kmart when a woman ran out screaming there's a man in the bathroom! Basically security, store manager and a large group of men that were chopping at the bits to beat her up call Hershey is not welcome to use the women's restroom anymore, to leave the premises and if she comes back next time to use the men's restroom. Again she was born a woman and was told in Indiana to use the men's restroom.
Her brother, who is a conservative Pastor, told us when we brought it up on Facebook that she should have shown her license. This resulted in many stating that they may or would claim they thought it was a fake ID. Claiming they wouldn't want to look in the wrong or felt they knew what men and women looked like, especially in a state that had passed a religious reform law at the time.
He then goes on to claim it to my grandma's own faults and had she put on some makeup before she leaves the house, dressed more feminine, and wore a wig this wouldn't happen. Even though my grandma does have large Manish hands, much bigger than mine and my uncles, and she does have a big bowl of nose, which is a family trait. His solution is for her to put on makeup, wig and probably a dress on the off chance she needs to use the restroom.
Which came to our point what would happen if the wig fell off or something along those lines. Basically they would conceive she was a man just by the fact she had to wear a wig. And probably no amount of actual are you showing or birth certificate would probably prove otherwise. Because she looks like a man and she had to wear a wig therefore she's a Man. Basically the only thing that you could probably get away with was by showing her Regina, to avoid having my comment removed, and even then that may not work. However after that point he refused to talk with us on the subject matter anymore because we were just being ridiculous.

Nonbinary person here, and can confirm that when I still called myself a tomboy for lack or better language I was regularly harassed by most of my female peers.
For not wearing make up. For cutting my hair short. For wearing big stompy boots. For wearing jeans. For wearing a skirt that wasn't new. For wearing a shirt that was new but was not feminine cut.
Every aspect of my behavior was under constant scrutiny for alignment with What Girl Was Supposed To Be, and I never fit it, so I was constantly interrogated as to why. Reporting that I hated being a girl, the response of shocked gasps and someone shouting out "OH MY GOD ARE YOU A TR*NNY???" in middle school was when I stopped humoring them at all. Explaining didn't give me understanding, they just shouted accusations and laughed while I desperately resisted the urge to cave their faces in before running away angry crying.
That's why they felt safe doing that to me. They knew if I reacted badly, *I'd* be the one in trouble. Not them for harassing me until I broke.
It would be another 15 years before I got away from the shouted accusations in my own head and realized yes, I am trans. And that's not a bad or shocking thing.

I witnessed a woman with a British accent loudly talking about trans people since at least 2018. I think it's suspicious she's so obsessed. I believe she may be deflecting from the fact that she is perhaps a trans person. I saw her (or perhaps him????) enter the woman's restroom. I questioned the person when they came out of the restroom, and she insisted she's a woman who wrote the Harry Potter series. I'm not buying it, so I submitted a complaint.

I have calmly and non-confrontationally asked every so-called woman trying to enter to submit to a genital inspection, but not one of them has agreed. In my mind, this is absolute proof that they were indeed trans. Despite my obviously justified concerns about the safety of real women, they called the police and tried to claim that I had done something wrong. When officers arrived on the scene, I explained that I was only enforcing the law as a concerned citizen. However, the officers not only did not force the so-called women to comply with my simple request, but also allowed them to enter the bathroom without any proof of sex whatsoever. I have now been banned from every Wendy's in the county, and I have multiple harassment charges pending. I strongly suspect that the officers in question were also trans."

I can honestly say it wasn't always easy at first. We had our ups and downs, but through communication and education, I learned to see who she truly is. Today, we have a great parent to child relationship. We can talk on the phone for hours with just about anything. When our elected officials target the trans community, they are setting a tone for the public to do the same thing, which results in violence towards the trans community. Utter unwllingness to acknowledge when predatory men exploit the rules/laws your side demands be put in place. Utter unwillingness to see when your side's actions cause unseen negative consequences. You just want us to view the people who disagree as bigots, and have a simplistic, rosy picture of the trans community as nothing but peaceful, innocent victims. Well fuck off. I don't disbelieve anything you said about your dad. I'm genuinely glad you have a great relationship with them. But I'm a white man, and if I tried to say that since my Grandpa was also white and male and never hurt anyone, that you should block your eyes and ears whenever a white man rapes or murders someone, you'd call that insanity. Same rules apply.

I want to make some public changes to my original comment. It has occurred to me how I used my language when I referred to her. She will either be called my parent or mom. It is my choice to do so. I will not put a timetable when she has been trans anymore. She has always been transgender. I just failed to see it before. Just because we are allies to the trans community doesn't mean we stop learning and growing with them.

In Winnipeg (Canada), we have a place called The Forks, and they have standard high-capacity gendered restrooms, as well as 3 or 4 single-stalls rooms. It's really not that hard to accommodate. They're useful for families with small children to use too so dad doesn't have to bring daughter into the men's room or vice versa.

A lot of Utah is blue, however because of the strength of Mormons, conservatives get into office. A lot of Mormons are also blue, but have embraced the MAGA ideology-which has divided mormons--which makes non-mormons really dislike mormons on record levels-

mormons on the blue side tend to eventually leave.. like me, my wife, 95% of our friend circle, two thirds of my siblings, all of my wife's siblings. The mormon leadership is too conservative and thus those that remain faithful tend to be red.

A lot of truly liberal Mormons just stop being Mormons altogether. There are many that embrace the "love the sinner, hate the sin" mindset, but they aren't true blue. They still hold their bigotry; they just do it with love, which isn't real love and doesn't count IMO.

Hello. I am LDS(Mormon). Utah has a strange problem(from what my Mom has told me) of having a LOT of the WORST people from our religion living here. It’s ironic

Tons of far right nutters that are not active in LDS church. And even those that are active Mormons are being seduced by the culture war instead of staying true to the gospel. The LDS Church is explicit about the establishment clause, yet 39% of Utah Mormons are Christian Nationalist.... That's from the GOP not from the LDS Church.
