Now in 1998 the E Class is still a wise choice among the midsize sedan luxury class. In the E Class you will choose between a wide range of powertrain options a 3.2 L V6, 4.3 L V8, or a 3.0 L 6-Cylinder Turbo Diesel made into a modern 5-Speed Automatic and All wheel Drive is optional. EPA estimates are acceptable for the class, our 3.2 L V6 we tested got about 20 MPG combined. On the interior you will find it to be very Mercedes familiar with the climate controls and radio controls being well labeled and very intuitive to use. Material quality and build quality are also decent. As far as some nice options you can get in the car, these include HID Headlights, Rain Sensing Wipers, and a Bose Audio Sound System. If you want more room a wagon is also available. Compared to some of it's competitors we really love the Lexus GS we think it's reliability is superb and build quality too and for the 5 Series we really love the BMW too and it's driving dynamics. If you are looking for a comfortable roomy sedan that is a nice highway cruiser but also won't be plain Jane on the road, go with the E Class it may not be as good as the BMW in driving dynamics or as good as Lexus in reliability but it's nice range of powertrains should hold it over for a couple of more years as a decent choice in the midsize Luxury sedan class. - Авто та транспорт
I just started back driving my 1998 E320 recently .. Someone asked “was this a good car”, this car still better than a lot of cars on the road now in ‘22 .. It sat for almost 4yrs and started right the hell up, I will always keep this car if possible .. 268k had it for 12yrs

It's 2024, May 24. I had own one a two wheel Gold one in 2001. I've brought a 1998 E-320 4 matic Heated front seats no head light washer. But with 165,000 miles the body and insideis in prestine condition. I've replaced the Air filters, pollen filters, changed the transmission fluid, I'm considering new rotors and brakes along with tires. It's a blast from the past.I drive down the road knowing not many on the trip. Also some of the interior part are old, like speaker vents, and wind Shield cowling near the single wiper. These parts are 27 years old and the sun has taken a toll. New wheel caps, and it's like wow! I don't mind that in 2024 most who are buying or leasing a car with payments of 650 -925 a month. plus expenses.I've brought it for 4300.00 and spent about 1500.00 detailing and purchasing parts. Everything works great , the air is cold and now I'm looking for a phone for that year. I'd like to restore it as close to original as possible. In Germany the E- class are used for taxi's so they are a vehicle built for miles and miles. Parts are cheaper and U-tub has DIY video's to aid and teach basic things. I have one just like it. I bought it new. Except for a problem with a AC Blower . . . this car has been reliable for the past 18 years.

I was deciding weather or not to buy one of these cars and this video convinced me that I should do it.
Uses a lot of gas. Used Chevy Volt drives like a luxury car too
Malfunction messages include
"Service (incl. oil change) interval exceeded by 10,100 miles" (!!)
"Coolant level" (!)
"Lamp defective"
and do I see the SRS warning light staying on?!
But, of course, cheesy aftermarket rims for a poorer ride...
Yes, these are great cars--but if you want to drive them forever you really should not be neglecting them...

Hey I have the same exact car just bought a few weeks ago at auction with 150k miles and was owned by older people and services it’s whole life at the dealership so it’s In tip too shape. My point is the two tabs on the center console if you pull one down and one up there’s a cooler underneath it

i have an e320 elegance you can see it its my profile pic next to my mums bmw yours is nice but it hasnt got many options fitted dont like the chrome rings round the headlights it spoils it but those wheels are quite nice but it doesnt look right with a spoiler either

unnecessary stress on the tires ,rack or steering box and pump.
Easiest car to manipulate the odometer in, ive seen one used with 71k bogus miles that was as beat up as this one with 185k , just walk away.

the thermostat is designed to fully activate the cooling system at 87 degree celcius. When running in cooler conditions in free-flowing traffic it is normal to see it just slightly above the 80 mark, and in hotter weather in traffic it will be closer to, but not touching, the 100 mark (the line between 80 and 120). If you are constantly getting below 80 or it takes a long time (15mins+) to get to 80, your thermostat is probably stuck open.
+donkgated thank u so much for this informations , I have problem in my parking brakes alarm it's stuck and no one knows how to fix it I even disconnect the power supply to the alarm but still same problem thank you for having me .

I have one 1998 Mercedes E320, engine run, but not cool air blowing, check Freon Pressor at low side is 30psi, and compressor clutch is engage, feel by hand on low side hose not cool, please give me some advice what sure I need to do......thanks
