    I for one would absolutely love to see the inside of that property for sale! (One with the blue shutters) This being a fishing village I feel would be a great place to live. Thank you so much for giving us a tour of some of the wonderful things this village has to offer! I really appreciate it!❤

      Hi Jan, Thank you! Yes it is amazing! Today I will do a short about the passegiatta. I was put with Gigi last night working on some more training and everyone was out and about, kids were playing, people were in the cafes, everyone was just enjoying the walk along the lungomare and in the piazza. I even met some people originally from Chicago who are living here now.

      @@SuperSavvyTravelersLLC I miss the sense of community/connectivity The Italians have. We just don’t have that here in the USA. They have that real joy of life! No doubt I will be going back!

    Thank you for the tour, Chris. These tours are helpful. I think that's why I felt so comfortable in SDT. Because I recognized buildings & landmarks from watching your videos. Excited to visit Puglia later this year.

    Yet another great video showing life in our beautiful Italy. I am so happy I retired to Santa Domenica Talao. I just finished a delicious meal at the Fig. A great dinner with my friends. So affordable, especially when Randy tells Shannon to refuse my debit card! I made Shannon PROMISE me our breakfast is on my card! We have so much fun here. I’m sorry Tabatha and Randy leave tomorrow to return to the US for the holidays. I will miss them. However, your patrons on your channel should know SDT is a great place to retire.

    My family lives in Mola. I’ll never forget my father buying the freshly banged octopus. They bang the octopus on the rocks to remove the ink from them. So after my father buys the octopus, they put some lemon on it, if you want, then he opens his mouth and eats it raw just like that. 😂 My brother and I were young teenagers at the time, and it just grossed us out so much. Lol. My father loved it!

    I love the walking tour , especially the restaurant recommendations which I will take down. I was amazed at your selection for favorite Foccaceria. When I was there in the 80’s that was my favorite place to get a Focaccia (Did I mention I love Focaccia). I will look you up when I’m back this fall with my kids. Maybe we can have a pizza (or two, lol). In the mean time I have homework for you….. Besides pizza my favorite hometown food is a Panzerotti. I remember the one place down Via Van Westerhout that was so so good. They also made a great Octopus salad. There is just something about deep fried dough. See what you come up with. Until then, safe travels and renovations…….

    I’ve studied the layout of Mola di Bari on google earth, and using street view, I’ve navigated around pretty easily. It seems to be an easily learnable town. Would you think an e-bike/taxi/walking combo would work? Dual citizenship would not be possible for me for tax reasons so obtaining a car might not be possible. Where do you park without a garage anyway? Thank you for another intriguing video. Those beautiful white stone streets!

    • @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC
      @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC  Рік тому +5

      Hi Maya, Absolutely the bike walking taxi combo would work. I have my car here but have not used it in weeks. I would be better off her without one because parking is a thing here. In addition the train station is a relatively short walk and you can go anywhere on the train. Our friend Stelio can rent you a car for the day if you want one. This is a perfect town for living without a car.

      HI! This year was a funny one because it stayed chilly and rainy for a long time but I would anticipate around May. May is a great time to visit anywhere in Italy as it is not too hot and there are not many tourists.

    This town seems to be so nice. Have you seen any properties that one can walk in from the street. No stairs to go up? Thanks Zelda

    • @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC
      @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC  Рік тому

      Hi Zelda, yes there are some. Most of the historic center properties have the cantina spaces that can be made very nice. The unfortunately thing is that there is very little natural light. This can be overcome with strategic lighting. It is very convenient.

    I have missed the videos lately. When did you move to the Puglia region from Calabria? Is the climate there much the same? How are the people as far as welcoming Americans?

    • @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC
      @SuperSavvyTravelersLLC  Рік тому +1

      Ho Jodie, We have definitely expanded into Puglia and we love it here as well. The climate from what I am seeing is a bit warmer than our village but not by much. I think it compares pretty much when you balance it all out. The people are wonderful here. Once they get to know you and see that you are staying they really open up and are fantastic. I really think you would love it here.
