    Another brilliant episode, but Holly's "Bad Cop" and all the reactions to it is such a high point

    I've never even known a fellow American who was cited for jaywalking.

    My great aunt and uncle were first cousins and it was allowed as long as they agreed not to have kids. Growing up in the US during the depression must have been odd

    Jaywalking is a city problem, in some smaller cities they install fences inbetween the roads.

    I love this show so much, and sandi is the greatest, but the elves got a small thing wrong. Im from Minnesota and the M.M.P.I. wasnt used for employment purposes. It is a serious psychological test used in schools and the court system.

    The circle with 6 dots only has 30 triangles and thats including the tiny one in the centreish. Has anyone else counted them? I appear to be correct, but i cannot in my wildest dreams, be correct? Can i?

    Turkish delight was a Victorian euphemism for cunnilingus. Some lady brought it out as a desert at a dinner party and one of the men said that reminded him of Turkish delight. All the men knew what he meant but the women didn't. So it got called Turkish Delight.

    • @wenwilloughby8197
      @wenwilloughby8197 Рік тому +1

      Nope. Some bloke in 1830 brought it back from Turkey. Hence the name.
      Though you could start it as a euphemism now if you wanted. If that act gets called Turkish Delight maybe the male equivalent could be dubbed German Consternation, or Chinese Ennui. The sky's the limit.

    @23:06 I live in the U.S. and have lived in a few different sizes of cities. Cops pretty much never stop someone for jaywalking except in big cities, and even then it's only used to stop someone they suspect of a different offense but don't have enough evidence to stop them. Classism and racial prejudice definitely have a strong effect. In many large cities there is the phenomenon of being arrested for "walking while black" or "existing while black" or "shopping while black." Basically, black people are more likely to be scrutinized for doing mundane things that other groups don't get scrutinized for, including jaywalking. I don't know a single white person who's ever been fined for jaywalking but it happens constantly. Almost every time I drive I see somebody doing it.

      Here in Ohio, we had a white child SAer, brought in just fine.
      A pregnant black woman, who someone said MAY have stolen alcohol, well, the cop stepped in front of her car and shot her once, dead. No thought about anyone else in the parking lot, they put themselves in the path of the vehicle and said they, and others were in danger. 🤦

      @@RealBradMilleryes indeed you are talking about Ms Young a 21 year old pregnant mother of a 6 and 3 year old. Video cam shows her refusing to get out of the car when asked by the cop several times and then what happened is under investigation. A cop standing in front of a car is not putting themselves in danger and then claiming self defense. That’s standard procedure. Not being a policeman I cannot know why this is the procedure but all of these are time tested and prove effective accept of course in this case.

    • @RealBradMiller
      @RealBradMiller Рік тому +1

      @@Yankee7000 Not standard procedure at all. Zero training tells an officer to place themselves in front of a vehicle. Next lie.

    I’ll bet the Serbian fellow mentioned at 41:58 can’t recite the alphabet or count past 10 anymore.
    Brains need oxygen: my ex had an accident and went without oxygen for an undetermined period of time, and the EMTs were able to restart her heart, but by then she’d suffered brain death, so after a few weeks of her vegetating her family took her off of life support. So, yeah: don’t hold your breath competitively, would seem like the wise course of action.
