Thank you so much for this video and measurements of cement to water. I just received my molds from Angela and The Happy Dotting Company. I'm so excited to make the "rocks" this weekend. I love how they have a center dot.
Thank you for Sharing your wonderful information. I just ordered these molds, and have not used them yet. You were very helpful to me. Huggles always 🖌👩🎨🍀🎨🦓💖🇺🇸
If you want a a really smooth surface with an absolute minimum of air holes I would recommend Happy Dotting Center's own demo on how to cast from her moulds as she uses a different method.
Hi Mike- to answer your question when using the molds they do come out smooth. This creates a great surface to paint on. I typically take the rocks out of the mold after a day and then let it air dry. They are very sturdy and have a good weight to them!
Thank you for sharing this information and your review of the molds. Are you using a dry measuring cup for the Ultracal 30 and a liquid measuring cup for the water? One third of a cup of water in a dry measuring cup is different from a third cup of water in a liquid measuring cup. Thank you.
qwltinsarah i used a dry measuring cup, and it worked out perfectly, not too runny like water, but not thick where it will set quickly. It does begin to heat quickly so work with your mixture as soon as it’s done :)
Hi Lanya- You can purchase the mold through Happy Dotting Company. I am attaching the Etsy shop as well. I am not sure if they ship to your area but it’s a great place to start www.etsy.com/shop/HappyDottingCompany?ref=view_receipt I believe she also has an Amazon account so you can try there. Hope this helps!

One cup of ultracal to 1/3 cup of water is not the correct measurement. I tried your measurements and I had to add a bit more water because with your measurements it came out very thick with noticeable powder still in bowl.
Cesar Plaza I saw another video where the result was better and they mix 8.85 oz of ultracal with 3.35 oz of water using gloves and mixing very slow and gently .

Wood filler works to fill holes as well. To get the bubbles out you can tap the sides after pouring into molds

Happy dotting has measurements for each mold. How do you figure out amounts to use for other molds
Thank you, excited to get started.
Hi, if I don't have ultracal, can I use white cement?
I made my first mold using Ultracal 30. They turned out GREAT, but are very smooth and shiny. Is this the way they should be?

It is recommended to hand mix the mixture using a gloved hand. This limits bubbles in the mixture that eliminates them in the finished product

Wear gloves and an N95 mask. Contains silica fibers. Google Ultracal 30...very informative.

Happydottingcompany has the correct measurements for each mold on their website.
