Just bringing an old forgotten car back to life and daily driving it to work. Inspired by "Vice Grip Garage" UA-cam channel. I encourage you to check it out. Get out there and enjoy old cars, they don't need to be show winners to have fun. - Авто та транспорт
Wow, cruise still worked! Man they built stuff to last back then!
Absolutely, I was very surprised
Love the car and all your efforts that saved it. I subscribed. I will watch more if there is more. Thanks man!
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback! I will certainly post more. I believe the next video is on Monday, fixing the brakes.
Cruise control set along with listening to "House of the Rising Sun."

In the late 80s I bought a 63 Cadillac calais two door for $250. I know nobody has heard of them. It was ordered by a preacher with manual windows and seats, no AC( Seattle) and radio deleted. 1963 turbo- hydromatic has the one year only torque converter attached to the transmission. Parts weren't available at the time and it took me 7 months to find a wrecking yard one that we combined into one transmission. It was a fun car after fixing the trans.
I have not heard of that, I will have to look that up today. Sounds like it was worth the wait. Is that the same setup that is in my car? Or was that just your Calais?
I was told that they all had that trans ( pre internet). Also I will be willing
To bet that either someone has come up with an adapter for a standard hydro trans or later overdrive, or parts are available now. At the time I also had a 64 Galaxie convertible. You couldn't just order rear shocks ( turn 65's upside down) or a headlight switch. Or ten years ago I bought a 67 jeepster that was a very odd ball jeep. The jeepster club had members that had made small production runs of master cylinder conversions, interior parts and soft tops and quite a few more peices. Try the Cadillac club if there is an issue. Even just for their online classifieds section. Good luck and you obviously have put a bit of work into yours.
Thank you for the feedback, I will definitely look into this. Fingers crossed I don't have issues with it but I prefer to be prepared. 👍
Turbo-Hydramatic (3 speed) did not exist until 1964 model year... all 1963 and earlier Cadillacs with automatic used the Hydramatic, 4 speed.
