The 757 can take off like this even when full, I can attest! I've taken off in 757s several times from Washington DC Reagan National Airport and its amazing how fast they jump (especially when taking off downriver to the south.) After the initial takeoff climb out, it levels off a bit and the engines are simultaneously cut back, and you get that sinking feeling in your gut like after zooming over the top of a rollercoaster hill! Apparently, airlines stopped these steep takeoffs because the climb outs on 757s have been greatly tamed to be like most other types of passenger jets. Sad.

This take off reminds me of the 'Vomit Comet'. For those who are unfamiliar, the 'Vomit Comet' flew at a steeper, approximately forty-five degree ascending and descending angle, like a parabola, to get astronauts familiarized with the sensation of weightlessness. Filmmakers also have used it to promote the scenes that showcasses off floating in space. Although the angle of attack for this 57 was much greater than 45 degrees, it is still cool, nonetheless. Great capture, Kevin!

Left KTPA one time back in the 90s on an Eastern 757 at night. 34 people on the plane heading to KLGA. Captain must have decided to let her stretch her legs. Felt like straight up and those RB211 he let scream until what had to be FL200 or so. We pulled hard for so long that when we leveled off and he finally throttled back, I swore we stopped and were going to just fall out of the sky. That was such an amazing ride.

This is the 1st time that I ever see the plane takeoff super early and climb steeply to the highest rocket that I ever see, 6 000 feet per minute on a empty flight and pitch up to 55 and 60 degrees. It's similar to the Boeing 777X test flight when the plane takeoff off super early and climb steeply to the highest rocket I ever see, more than 6 000 feet per minute and pitch up to more than 60 degrees. Boeing didn't have the foresight to know that the 757 should be their flagship plane, not the 737. What a huge mistake that was. Now they are stuck with a small aircraft, that can't be stretched any further, can't be crammed any further, can't be made any better. I'd gladly board a 757 over a new 737.

'I also recommended to Boeing that they should not lengthen the unattractive, fat, and slow 737 to get a larger plane, they should go, instead, to an updated fast, beautiful, and sleek 757, the “Praying Mantis.” It is commercial pilots favorite plane to fly. Had they listened to me, years ago, they wouldn’t have had the disaster known as the 737 MAX. Those two horrible tragedies would never have happened.
