I learned this last year and wondered why no coaches ever told me about the kinetic chain. Maybe they didn't give a crap. Well, now I have pop so screw you crappy coaches.
You’re teaching style is clean, direct & unfussy. Thanks. I accidentally hit a forehand with pop the other day. The sensation was indeed as if I’d abandoned my hitting arm; it came through last, almost like an oversight. Like I said, it was kind of an accident. I noticed the power and penetration immediately, and worked backwards to try to figure out what made it happen. Then a few days later, your video arrives with a clear explanation!!
Great advice delivered clearly. What else can you ask for! I like when you say "a lot of people just don't get athletic on the shot". That's good advice... we tend to get lazy out there and just swipe at the ball.
I love your lessons Vincent! You're very focussed and precise, just the kind of coaching every aspiring tennis player needs. Cheers man and Happy Holidays!
New sub, loved your teaching style! Any chance you could do a video on "most common tennis injuries and how to avoid them" - I recently injured my back and never knew that a solid core training program was necessary to avoid these types of injuries when playing tennis (since there's so much load and whip going through your back)!
Doctor, I attended a tennis camp last weekend. We did some great drills and I was popping hard forehands with topspin. At the end, we played some doubles games and I was pushing. Is that due probably to slowing down the racquet and not just going for it?
Very easy to theorize and illustrate when you're standing still, but seeing you run for a shot while illustrating would be far more realistic because footwork very much affects how you execute this in a practical situation.
Like the advice and I agree totally. You can though get a popping sound by just using the arm, but the effort to do that with just the arm is why so many players get tennis elbow imo. I learned to turn my body through and get the whip effect on the forehand and it has made it so much more powerful and less effort (when I do it right). No macho I can make it pop just by hitting the ball hard - when you do it as this coach says, the power just appears with practically no effort.
I've been playing for years and I couldn't figure out my forehand. I'd been doing so many things wrong. I could never generate power, and I see why. I almost always hit the ball short. It's taken me years, just to relax my grip because I thought that's the problem. Then I thought it was my timing. But actually I was never using my l legs, hips, chest, then arms to generate power to the racket . I'm heading to the court shortly. Less is more. Thank you for this video. I'll let you know how it goes.
How do you think we could practicame the correct movement? I've analized a lot this mechanics and i know that i don't do the return of the unit turn well, but in the court i cant correct the mistake (sorry for mu english, greetings from santiago of chile!)
Coach, I heard about the firing of hip and body technique from time to time. I tried that in rallying practice but found myself hitting late and losing all the control whenever I focused on that.... What am I missing ? Please advise
@@jorgeandrescoppiano is right about timing being the main factor. The other comments will help you get the timing right. For me, what helps is visualizing hitting the ball at the 2 o’clock angle (the clock face being the side of the ball facing your left side). It naturally adjusts your movement to the correct timing whether the ball comes at you fast or slow, your body will adjust as long you have the fundamentals down
Do you do acting? You really hold the screen. I noticed halfway through that there was zero camera movement, edits or music and it was just you keeping it interesting lol
Amazingly gifted athlete and wordsmiths. That cocktail along with the mental calmness will make him one of the greatest coaches and teachers the world over. 🎾🌍 God is so good.
nice advise but what is a semi-pro lol. does this mean you play futures, but have never won a match? I'm guessing you don't have an ATP point??? Still your video was pretty good. What makes you a Tennis Doctor? Are you a USPTA master? I'm confused by your titles
Throwing body to ball requires very good technique and experience, kids playing tennis growing up have it naturally, adults can never learn the right technique, the body is too stiff.
Baseball coach who dedicated his life to master the throwing technique suddenly gets overwhelmed by severe depression…! 😭 😂 (All jokes aside, great video! 😁 😜)
I can put my weigth on a flat ball, without swinging fast with the arm, but i find it more difficult on a topspin shot. I can hit a decent topspin forehand but it lacks some penetration. If i try to put my body weigth on this type of shot ball will go long because i cannot give much rotation AND weigth on the same time
Your analogies are hilarious haha "wild cat ready to digest it's food" 😂😂 great lesson mate!

lol dudes delivery pure psychopath borderline comedy. Love it
Great analogies to drive your lesson! Definitely made it clear and easy to understand. Thanks!!!
I’ve seen a lot of tennis videos but there’s something in yours that just ring something different! Thank you!
Yeah. It's direct and so court applicable.
I love your lessons Vincent! You're very focussed and precise, just the kind of coaching every aspiring tennis player needs. Cheers man and Happy Holidays!
I got great ‘pop’ last time I played, unfortunately it was my achilles

OMG. Thank you. This will change things for me in a great way. Adding that one handed tip as well is another big plus.
Very good teaching and technique. Thank you very much.
Love the pace you speak and very clean demonstration! Keep up good works!

Wow Son I love how you dramtize your work it’s as if you are in a real Movie
Love it !!!
I really enjoy your teaching style.
Besides all of the great advises you gave, loose grip and arm are important too, but I think you mentioned that in other videos.
That's interesting. Bow and arrow. I gotta keep that in mind and test it. Thanks!
Thank you for posting this helpful video

Nice video. Just subbed
Good stuff thx, I will date myself but it reminds me of Ivan Lendal speaking of the ground strokes way back in time, he had pop too
great help thank you,
Great coach. From a fellow coach
Great video. Nice and simple. Subscribed.
Liking your stuff and working to practice this way. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the video, can you explain why you are turning your legs quickly in unit turn ?

@@morris886 Thank you
Great job. Now I have to go do it. Thank you. As a teacher of another topic, I appreciated your presentation.
How do you stay loose when the match is tight?
Very good advice
For a young man, such knowledge! Only 4.38K subscribers? Why?
hot pink tennis shoes.... that's what i'm missing!!!!!

thank you!
Love your shoes, need to get them too

Make it a bit less exaggerated. It’s timing. Make it natural. Not overly delayed, nor rushed. Natural, relaxed
Footwork. Need quick footwork to get in position. Quick like cat.
Over rotation.

He’s a pro tennis coach, I don’t think he played pro however
I always thought that hitting clean would produce the pop sound. So depending on where you hit the ball in your racket would produce the pop sound.
Throwing body to ball requires very good technique and experience, kids playing tennis growing up have it naturally, adults can never learn the right technique, the body is too stiff.
Omg this is so good how did I just discover it
Love it "don't send your arm on a loan mission".
Like a wild cat ready to digest it's food😂 sounds more relaxed than explosive to me😅 Great job aside from the metaphor👌
U r good man
Do you think you could win a game off a pro?
I think when talking about 'pop' on the ball, it only has to do with a relaxed grip, none of the other stuff you talked about.
I agree. Fully relaxed grip is the key.
True. Gives the “snap” at the right timing
😂 best coach ever
