You are incredible This is the second video of you I watch. The previous one is about the forehand. You revealed the unspoken secrets of each move in forehand and the serve. Thanks a lot!
Hi! Doc. The fundamental difference of “Modern serve” is to stay side way at contact point rather than face forward?(6”54)..Could you name some elite players adopted this kind of serve? Nadal? De Minaur? Rune? Thks!
Many players go forward into the court. Staying sideways at contact is more power up. Or do players go into the court after hitting up like you are explaining? Thanks
Hi Tennis Doctor, one question about the timing of the serve motion “comb your hair”. Do you initiate “comb your hair” before powering up from your legs? Or you just powering up from your legs and then just let “comb your hair” naturally follow?
Having the knees bent while tossing seems to be the latest fad among internet gurus. It isn’t wrong, but it won’t work for many people leading to double dipping and inconsistent tosses for some. It also requires a low toss and quick motion to be fully effective. Serena and many other elite servers don’t do it that way. The bent knees while tossing is something people can try that might work for some but not the “right” way.
Is bringing the arms up together something that modern day male players do? Doesn't the reacquet arm lag with the palm down? Look at videos of the great servers. I do like your videos and have been watching but arms up together is kind of something from the past on the men's side. I distinguish between men and women's tennis because many of the women still bring the arms up together.
Skills are not transferrable nor can they be shared ! You cannot “pass on” what you know to someone else. At best ,, all anyone can do is imitate you. Otherwise,, we would have thousands of Federer’s running around. One has to develop one’s own skills.
Thanks
Honestly, this is THE best instructions I have ever seen!
Outstanding step by step system
Very nice instructions. Check the phone check the time search your back
Great explanation of biomechanic of the serve but usually the biggest issue with the shot is the tossing of the ball.
you are a great explainer of biomechanics!
Thank you for showing us proper technique from rear view. Appreciate it alot.
Great clear explanation. How about the lag serve? Throw goes up, racket stays down then thrown from low to high for contact
You are incredible

Knee bend is on step 3. Comb ur hair step 5. I just shave my head. Problem solved
I don't have hair to comb, no friends to hifi. But cool tips .. 😅
