Hi, from what I have read(one book), they weren't counting on overthrowing the Empire, they were counting on taking part of Hammerfell. They were surprised by the Empire's weakness and changed the focus away from Hammerfell to Cyrodiil. Also the Redguards didn't "defeat" the Dominion, they fought the Dominion to a "standtill". I didn't read the novels and know nothing about Legends. This is just from "The Great War" book on top of the wardrobe of the room I rented from Delphine on the Sleeping Giant Inn.
This is speculation, but I personally think that we'll find out that the dragonborn helped destroy the thalmor after skyrim in a later installment. No matter your alliance, the thalmor will activity hunt the dragonborn. They are literally hunting down a demigod that is capable of fighting a deadric lords army in his own plain of oblivian after almost killing another demigod. Also, by the end of skyrim, half the dragons are loyal to you. If the dragonborn still didn't want to destroy them for any reason, the dragons will.
@@thenormalformalandhormonal8531 That is if the Dragonborn doesn't get stuck in Apocrypha after selling their soul to Herma Mora. The last 2 Installments of Elder Scrolls had the main heroes getting roped into Oblivion Shenanigans, so the track record isn't looking good for The Last Dragonborn.
Something to take into consideration and maybe make a video about is that the Thalmor were very likely infiltrated by the veiled heritance at some point before the Oblivion crisis, turning them into the Elven supremacists that they are today. It would not be the first time that the Thalmor were infiltrated by the veiled heritance, it happened once before during the second era and likely happened again. We have seen before that the veiled heritance is a vast and extremely organized group and even when they were defeated once they regrouped and attacked again so it is very possible that remnants of the veiled heritance reformed the group once again, this time infiltrating the Thalmor and later on taking control of the Summerset Isles.

The impression I got was that most of the High Elves were just too used to living in a homogenous society, too complacent from millennia of near-utopia to do anything about Ayrenn's incredibly radical and self-serving reforms. The visions you have at the end of the Dominion questline imply that the Altmer turned on her eventually, and I suspect that after almost being genocided by a human warlord and then subjugated by said warlord's decadent, centralising, culture-killing, mercantile empire for a few centuries they were probably pretty game for a Thalmor coup. Hi mate just a couple of quick questions about the Thalmor I couldn't find the answers in any of your vids, or any other channels vids for that matter... If a Thalmor robs a Thalmor then sells the stolen property to another Thalmor but rips him off, how many Thalmor would it take to apprehend the original Thalmor and would the Thalmor rulers pass sentence on the Thalmor who robbed from the Thalmor? And if that happens, would the Thalmor who bought the item have an obligation to the Thalmor who was robbed by the incarcerated Thalmor? How many Thalmor would be on the jury and would they all HAVE TO be Thalmor? As a potential caveat; if the item that was stolen was integral to Thalmor lore, for example Thalmor attire, or Thalmor literature, would this have any effect on the persuasions of the Thalmor on the jury, or the opinions of the Thalmor public? Do Thalmor watch out for Thalmor, and ensure that society moves forward in a way beneficial to the Thalmor? And finally, is that specified within Thalmor legislation?
Vicente Sepulveda then the Summerset isles wouldn’t have been fucked as thoroughly as they were in the canon timeline. Honestly, think before you post.
When it comes to Hammerfell, my hopes for ES6 is an Indiana Jones like affair. That said, I can imagine the Thalmor took what they needed from Hammerfell. They sit on their land and started digging. It's assumed they were digging defences, but they are digging for something else... There' s trouble in Hammerfell, as every part of Tamriel, but there's three main groups vying for control internally with two outside players and a wildcard. The outside are the Dominion, Empire and the "wildcard" Orsinium Orc Clans. The Orcs get a lip service at the first act. By the third, they show up in force. The player decides through choices how they behave. If you ignored them, not going to seek their aid etc, they are enemies, if you talked to them, aid their problems and gain their trust, they become a powerful ally. The Orcs are a sort of Afghan partisan group. Analogy to the cold war middle east. As it's the 6th entry to the series, there are 6 factions that make the plot. The politics like Skyrim should be played up as a background to the main story a la Skyrim, say: You are approached by individuals from a Yokudan Cult to beat the Thalmor to a secret that was buried millennia ago... But the backdrop is this grand intrigue of three houses vying for control whilst the Empire and Dominion close in and Orcs, after Orsinum is destroyed finally, come in force like the Mongols. They need to capture the feel of Morrowind, the quests of Oblivion and the awe of Skyrim. Learning from other teams games like New Vegas.
wouldnt having a long lifespan only increase your population as it would give more time to pair up and give birth to children? i never understood it when people say that the Aldmeri Dominions' population growth is low
Well probably not seeing as they claim to be the closest to the Aldmer similar to the Aryan claim of the Nazis. I think it was a quest in Oblivion where an Altmer noble tried to resurrect the Ayleid empire with the crown of Nenalata(?).
Thalmor dont identifies as alyeids because alyeids are the wild lands altmer, to make a comparation with the nazis you should make it with th Aldmer, wich are the original main elf race, were most of the elves come from (except the lefthand-elves of yokuda). I dont know of they think that, but its not erratical, because altmers are the nearest culturaly and geneticaly to aldmers, it is way comprendible than the nazis thought, it can be compared with an spaniard saying he is castilian or a french man claiming to be a franc
sup man just a suggestion but if you run out of stuff to do then you could do some thing to do with dragon age anyway stay cool wait a second you never were hahahha stay cool man see you next vid
Your opening statement "have always been Elven supremacists is incorrect. The Thalmor of th le 4th Era yes. However, the Thalmor from before Tiber Septim massacred them were open to other races and were hell bent on actually helping other races. This was especially true for the Thalmor who served under Queen Ayren.
+Akazuno There is no lore on it, but if we follow Bethesda's trend in linking the Thalmor rise with the Nazi rise I think we can safely say that all the kings have been mostly disposed off and that they are the one ruling alinor now
TES6 could be about exactly that topic taking place on the Summerset Islands after the Dragonborn became the new emperor after the assassination of the emperor by the dark brotherhood and maybe the story will be about a new war where the Aldmeri Dominion lost and had to sign a contract where they agree to disband the Thalmor (since even within the Aldmeri Dominion, by Khajiits and Bosmers they are not liked) and the main story will be that the new hero finds himself in the Summerset islands where there are now multiple political factions and still survivors of the Thalmor that plot something evil and a comeback of the Thalmor, maybe with the help of a strong daedric artifact. Perhaps they somehow make an alliance or deal with Umbra and his floating Island and we must stop the Thalmor. This would be a really cool story.
@@ImperialKnowledge i I have a feeling it's more like Mussolini's Italy where there is likely a king/queen of the Aldmeri Dominion but they're effectively a Thalmor sock puppet. The Thalmor only keep them around as the monarch gives their government legitimacy.
They’re really not. They only have two areas of advantage. Use of magic and lifespan. But suck at absolutely everything else. They only thrived because of the chaotic weakness of their opponents. Once the Empire rebuilds its strength (along with a unified Skyrim) they’ll destroy the thalmor. Though it will be a huge war.
@@stuarttimocin7929 Honestly what else is more important than magic and lifespan? What good is a Human who’s gruff and strong for maybe 20 or so years to a potentially several hundred year old elf who has used that time to master destruction or alteration? Even a human who achieved a higher level in magic than any elf wouldn’t live long enough to put it to use compared to elves.
That's why it is racism in the literal sense; the belief in a race hierarchy, whereas in humans in real life race distinctions are not real and the belief is even more incorrect.

sup man just a suggestion but if you run out of stuff to do then you could do some thing to do with dragon age anyway stay cool wait a second you never were hahahha stay cool man see you next vid
Nice
Your opening statement "have always been Elven supremacists is incorrect. The Thalmor of th le 4th Era yes. However, the Thalmor from before Tiber Septim massacred them were open to other races and were hell bent on actually helping other races. This was especially true for the Thalmor who served under Queen Ayren.
What is force breeding?
Is Alinor totally ruled by the thalmor or is there a real king behind this, who is maybe manipulated or maybe supporting the thamlor?
Glory to the thalmor, GLORY TO THE DOMINION!
If you think about it high elves are kind of superior
Well this wasn't biased at all lol
I hate these guys. My High Elf character may have to join the Empire.
That's a retarded idea, just be an imperial if you like the races of men so much. You don't deserve to be an elf, much less an altmer
Chad move, be a High elf and join the Stormcloaks. A middle finger to every sane being living in Tamriel.

Worship of Talos is strictly forbidden!
Hello from Russia ^_^
Well in es there aren’t races there’s species
No, they can interbreed and produce fertile offspring. Also according to Bethesda they are races.
They are literal races, in real life there are no races, there is no clear cut way to divide ethnic groups
They sound like the Israeli government.
you need to go outside a bit more twitter is bad for you
Elves are the superior race
Argonians are the master race
Orcs are the god tier ultimate master alpha race
Goblins are the ultimate god tier mega alpha omega super duper race
Kwamma forager god tier ultimate omega alpha mega master n word race
Redguard Lives Matter
Men and Mer are not the same race so racism doesn't work here.
That's why it is racism in the literal sense; the belief in a race hierarchy, whereas in humans in real life race distinctions are not real and the belief is even more incorrect.
Can't listen to this dude trip over his words
The thalmor are insane they remind me of the Nazis
So... fantasy Nazis?
Welp. My fanfic chapter is ruined.
I thought the Thalmor were Cyrodiil's reps in Skyrim. Basing their embassy so close to Solitude to ensure the Imperial Legion are doing their job right. I take a lot of creative liberties anyway, but from the sound of this so far, the Empire and the Thalmor hate each other. Damn it.
The thalmor where are the real hero

This accent is unbearable
Plus the bias
the accent is alright, he could only slow down a bit because english isn't his native language.
