    "As capable, or more so in certain dimensions" - You got that right, you'd have to travel to another dimension to find something that a woman can do better than men, without cheating by using obvious biological differences.
    I'd wager that Doctor Who himself has never witnessed this.

    • @6oodfella

      ***** First of all, sweetheart, it's not been scientifically proven.
      Secondly, men concentrate on one thing at a time, so that one thing gets 100% of their attention and effort, women on the other hand.......
      Are you really sure you want to be making this argument that things that women do are not done with 100% effort and attention?
      One question for you, can you give me one example where a woman can do two or more things at the same exact time, that a man cannot do? Don't cheat by using biological differences.

    • @6oodfella
      @6oodfella 9 років тому +5

      ***** "yes it has been scientifically proven that their is no difference in the intelligence between men and women" - That was not your claim, honey, you claimed it was proven that women were better at multitasking.
      "sort of like women going to work and coming home and taking care of the children" - Those are two completely different things which are done at completely different times.
      It's also a blanket insult to men, as it suggests they can only do one thing per day.
      "there is no scientific fact that says women don't give 100% effort to what they are doing" - If you are doing more than one thing at a time, then they cannot possibly be getting 100% effort and attention, whether you're male or female.
      "you can argue with me about this whole "men are better than women" all you want" - I'm not arguing that at all, which comment are you reading at all?
      "but the is no proof that men are smarter than women" - You can go an entire year without benefiting from anything that women have built, invented, or created, you could not go one hour without benefiting from anything that men have built, invented, or created.
      The proof is in your everyday life.

      ***** My, what a well thought-out response. That must have taken a while to come up with.

      6oodfella She must have been multitasking while thinking about her counterclaim. In other circles one would call it a short attention span.
      +Kastella M. How about shaming, can women shame (aka. mindfuck) better than men?

    Does she know she said she is a feminist in the first line?

    A "woman like her didn't become successful by crying victim" means she worked for it like any man has to. That everyone, man or woman, aspiring to reach the top of ladder is going to have to fight through a world of shit and put up with all sorts of demeaning garbage before they reach it. Men know this inherently, which makes them highly aggressive in business. Mayer knows it too, which is why she's there. Most women DON'T know it and feel entitled to unearned success, which they DON'T get.

    "As capable, or more so in certain dimensions"
    Sounds like feminist talk to me.
    Females evolved a more connective, nurturing emotional brain primarily designed for child care. The female brain is designed through evolution (due to birth and nurturing) to be focused on the ‘present’ and on ‘safety’, not on risk and discovery like the male. The female mind had no need to visualize or even care about abstract thought, so her brain did not form that way. It is easy to see the reasons behind the differences, these are the reasons we exist.

      I disagree that women do not care about abstract thought . It is too much of a generalization. Throughout history there have been several female scientists , artists and visionaries .

    She says women are most likely MORE capable in some ways. I agree with this statement, but the question is: Would she be willing to say the same about males?

    • @petternerman5587
      @petternerman5587 8 років тому

      ***** On the contrary, I think you are, since you're expecting special treatment.

      ***** Because you're offended when I ask if she's egalitarian or embraces double standards promoted by society.
      The notion that it's okay to highlight female superiority but not male one stems from the idea that women are inherently inferior. In other case, ironically enough, it would be derogatory towards women if she weren't consistent in this regard.

      ***** Cute, she learned a new word but doesn't quite know how to use it yet. You get a C for effort.
      Now go cry in a corner; I'm sure big bad patriarchy will comfort you.

    • @petternerman5587

      You're the one crying, cutie-pie. Can't stand to hear a valid question because of your victim complex. Poor thing.

    • @petternerman5587
      @petternerman5587 8 років тому

      ***** No, you didn't. Why are you making that up?
      And no, you didn't use the term straw man correctly. A straw man would be when you misrepresent the position of your opponent, which I didn't. I simply suggested that you seemed offended since you asked a rhetorical question that was absolutely retarded.
      You were indeed offended about my question, which is honestly quite mental. My question was justified.

    True, hard work allows women to become successful, I'M NOT DENYING THAT. But you cannot deny for one second that there has never been a woman out who has been DISCRIMINATED because someone thought that since she was woman, she's wasn't capable of working effectively. Sexism is the reality. And that is why there is feminism.

  • @odinthor6709

    There is no good version of Feminism. Wake up and smell the coffee, woman.

  • @Androgynary
    @Androgynary 11 років тому

    Also, focusing on the problems facing a specific set of people, especially when these are problems you are passionate about solving, doesn’t mean forgetting that all other problems exist. Furthermore, feminism is not only about gender or women. Guess what buddy, men themselves are hurt by a system in which men have the most power. And lastly, you can be a humanist and be feminist AT THE SAME TIME. Because you know what? A vested interest in general human welfare is an implicit goal of feminism.

  • @Androgynary
    @Androgynary 11 років тому

    So what if she became successful by working hard and not victimizing herself? The word feminism still applies. Regardless of how she feels about the word, she is technically still a figure of how feminism has achieved equality. She is a successful female CEO. It is because of feminism that she is even there in the first place. If there were no feminism, she would have been some housewife or secretary (not that there's anything wrong with that).

  • @NadiaThePoet
    @NadiaThePoet 11 років тому

    Feminism means Gender Equality. Which is what she mentions at the start.
    The sort of feminism you are all talking about isn't feminism. It is SEXISM. If anything is gender unequal it is sexist.
    Also - "woman like her didn't become successful by crying victim" what because they are working in a 'masculine' environment where men and women are oppressed in being told to suppress their emotions and be 'hard' 'tough' men to survive in a work environment?
    Great. Cause thats gender equality...

    You cannot but help contrast her to Sheryl Sandberg, who, by the way, also came out of Google, and has a made a "stage" career out of "Lean In".

    To choose FEMINISM is to ALSO choose HUMANISM. BOTH are about EQUALITY of human beings. Have you never picked up a fucking dictionary? It's so laughable when people say, "Why be a feminist when you can be a humanist?" Well, that's funny, considering the fact that women take up half the population of the world. Just because one is a feminist does NOT MEAN that they hate men and want women to be better than men. *ROLLS EYES* at the fact that you think you know what feminism is.

  • @Androgynary

    I don't entirely disagree with you. However, just because I am a feminist, does not mean that I agree with other feminists. To tell the truth, other feminists give a bad name to feminism. You know what? I am a feminist NOT because other people approach and support feminism in radical, hypocritical ways. I am a feminist in the way it's SUPPOSED to be.

    I would disagree. Women within any ethnic or racial group can be attractive. I think your analysis could be better formatted to cultural believes. The Muslims in Singapore are more westernized and feminism has taken root there. Japan is somewhat westernized and feminism has taken root there. If I remember correctly 60% of Japanese men have become "grass-eaters". The birth rate in Japan is very low, similar to "western culture" birth rates in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, Russia, etc.

    Inequality is not only okay, it has been essential in our survival as a species.
    Women were made to REproduce… not to produce.
    Women depended on men to create civilization...
    while men depended on women to give birth to the male producers
    and female reproducers… a fair and amazing balance.
