My grandpa bought a 2018 Cadenza in the limited trim. It is an amazing car! I have both rode in it and driven it. It rides and drives perfectly. My favorite features are the white nappa leather with front heated and cooled seats and rear heated seats, 360 degree camera, and the heads up display. I also like the active safety features and the blind spot monitoring + rear cross traffic alert. I know it will definetly be reliable, the 3.3 V6 is awesome. And you cant beat the warranty or bang for your buck. Kia has done it again with another stunning car!

@Joe Blackner I'm telling you why they are reliable and this isnt the 90s anymore. Kia is now almost at the top with Toyota, Consumer Reports bases themselves too much in the past.

The Borrego is still in production overseas as the Mojave. It was a good option at the time, but Kia pulled the plug on it here in the US because it didn’t sell anywhere near as well as the car-based options available. The tried-and-true 4x4 market for SUVs is clearly a niche market now, so if Kia was to bring out a model like that, they’d know that it won’t be the sales leader like it used to be in the 90’s and early 2000’s.

Last year when we bought it, they had lots of them in stock. This year, it seems they only have one or two in stock. I hope this isnt the end. They need more advertising.
I loved my 2017 Gravity Blue SXL and wish I'd bought it out of its lease during COVID. I now have a 2020 ES 350 Luxury sedan that, while it's surely a more reliable and dependable bet for long-term ownership, doesn't match the solid feel of... yes, a Kia.

I hope Kia doesn't launch a separate brand like what Hyundai did with Genesis Motors. I just want to see the Kia badge rise from what once was a brand known for being a cheaper version of a Hyundai, which is an overall crap box, to Honda and Toyota alternative in the 2010's, and in the near future, a brand that will sit proudly next to the likes of Volkswagen and Volvo in terms of quality and desirability.
it actually seems like the perfect car for the middle class Americans... it has Unique Style and seems to do everything pretty well and look at that interior! but it's a shame that people don't want to purchase this because of the badge saying Kia....
I'm a very big MotorWeek fan however I continue to notice the biggest issue with your acceleration testing with numbers that consistently drag behind every other publication... your test track namely the quarter mile and 0-60 test lanes are extremely worn with pavement that's almost glass like slick. It's almost impossible to get a great launch off the line with almost every vehicle spinning its tires just like this Cadenza. There is absolutely no way this car is this slow especially with a class average of around 6.4 seconds to sixty. I really think a repaving of your track would greatly improve the numbers for every vehicle you test. Otherwise, please continue to keep up the fantastic work.
Swap out those stock Hankook tires for a set of Pirelli Cinturato A/S plus and this car will get off the line much quicker without all that wheelspin i'll bet. It will also ride much smoother and quieter.
Call me crazy, but the Ford Taurus SHO is the best large sedan you can buy right now for the price. It can be had with similar amenities + the ecoboost v6 and awd for a mere $42k. I'm sure you can get a few discounts and dealer incentives and get a new one in the upper $30s. Not sure why anyone would get this over a Taurus, a Lexus ES, or Buick LaCross.
While the Taurus is certainly quick, it has many faults, such as a the driving experience (the car is too heavy, so adding suspension and braking components to compensate won’t exactly help), the front of the interior is still too cramped for most drivers, and it’s not the most quality of products you can find in this class. If you want outright speed in a straight line, then sure, the SHO will a fair amount of stoplight races, but honestly, you get what you pay for.
Drove the Korean version of this car for about a year. It may have been a 2015 so maybe they fixed many of the annoying issues. The infotainment system didn't have a clue as to what random meant, fuel economy was no where near what this one claims, I got about 16 average. The car was a slug and the front seats were horrible after about 45 minutes.
This is a new version from 2017-present. 2014-2016 was the old model you were referring to. Alot of that was fixed, I can tell you from first hand experience.

great camera shots and nice music choices, the car looks impressive as well
