    Alex, Once again you are to be commended for fighting the good fight when it comes to rear seat accommodation in sedans. Will we ever get passed this 'less headroom is more' fixation so many misguided designers force upon us? Sagging sedan sales numbers clearly indicate this whole 'swoopiness' thing is not working so why not go back to #practical designs? Surely a person who fits in the front seat of a 4 door sedan ought to fit in the back seat as well. For what it's worth, the Avalon Hybrid has to be the most rational choice in this increasingly irrational category.

    Just bought a 2019 limited technology with every bell and whistle. It was a corporate car so it was never titled till I purchased it. The ONLY unfortunate thing was it had 18515 miles. Out the door it was over 30K. That being said, this is the best car I have ever owned. I have every creature comfort. I have a luxury car without the luxury price. I now look for excuses to get in my car and just drive. Even with some of the new features on the 2020, my 2019 is head and shoulders above the new version. If I ever decide to or have to replace this car it is going to be extremely hard to find a car to match this one. This is an AMAZING VEHICLE and I get to say I have one. Kia needs to scream from the roof tops about this car and keep adding features and not taking anything away.

    • @iSlandeRon
      @iSlandeRon 4 роки тому

      Glad you’re enjoying your car dude. I’m afraid Kia has dealt the final deathblow to this car with what they did to the 2020 model. The back is fine but I think the front looks ugly now. Now we have fake two exhaust "vents" in the back when they used to be real ones. So I don’t get why they still kept the duel exhaust when you don’t get to see any of it. They took some features away from the technology model and added it to the SXL model but then took away a bunch of features that the SXL model had originally. So now the top-of-the-line one doesn’t have the manual window shades or the power back window one. No more fog lamps no more head up display no more suede headliner no more power trunk no more paddle shifters I’m assuming no more rear heated seats (Alex didn't address that out so I don’t know ) Only two pluses I can see is the larger infotainment screen and the separate temp display. What a shame.

      @@iSlandeRon you are absolutely spot on! If Kia had done things the right way, they were a direct threat to Cadillac. When I was trying to decide between the Cadenza and the Cadillac the differences were nothing short of miniscule. The only real difference was the size of the engine. The 2019 is all luxury without the Cadillac price. If ever the need arose that I would need to get a new vehicle I am sorry to say with what Kia has done I will not be looking at Kia but instead Cadillac. Kia had an amazing vehicle and didn't know it. Too bad it is an amazing vehicle.

    You nailed it in regards to one of the reasons many are moving away from sedans. I am a sedan guy, but the last one that I could easily get in and out of was my 2011 Buick LaCrosse CSX. I keep looking at sedans but they keep getting lower hip points and rooflines. While they look "sleek" they are more difficult for us older adults to get in and out of. That's not to mention someone wanting to install a car seat in the back. Makes me sad, but it's into yet another SUV/Crossover for me. We've been forced out of them, it's not that we don't want them.

    An under-rated sedan that is a terrific value. Problems are Kia purchasing and warranty service experiences are terrible. I've also read that the paint/clearcoat is thinly applied. With so few cars sold, service outside of warranty might get expensive (minimal availability for parts).

    Yes! I got to test drive a 2018 iteration after finding out the Kia dealership I was already at had one on site. Have to admit, this is definitely a car you want be driven in, there wasn't much going on in terms of driving dynamics. But it felt solid and was super comfortable. However it looks like they stopped selling the Cadenza here in Canada after the 2020 model year 😭

    Thanks to Alex we have learned that auto manufacturers do squeeze the rear seat room and luggage space from all sedans making them a mixture of 4 seats 4 doors coupes and sport cars pushing consumers into SUV but simultaneously killing all the market for their sedans and 2 doors sports cars. Even in SUVs world the coupe shape is increasing the market share despite its lack of practicality.

    Fair warning from a owner of a 17 technology. there's no torque steer but wheel spin is a big issue. Plus the new kia 8 speed transmission seems to want to get in the highest gear possible all the time. And it's slow to downshift. Also not a fan of the new front end and what's with ditching the fog lights? Do like the new center stack.

    • @flightwriterNG
      @flightwriterNG 4 роки тому +1

      The 8-speed was my absolute least favorite "feature" of my 2017 SXL. "Slow to downshift" doesn't begin to cover it; at times mine would flat refuse to kick into a lower gear by itself to accelerate up a freeway on-ramp, and even forcing the issue with the paddle shifters took several seconds too long.

    Huh, you bought a 2000 Chrysler LHS. I owed a 2000 Chrysler Concorde recently. Loved it. It was why I went back to looking at large sedans over my practical 2016 Toyota Camry. I was looking primarily at the 2017-2019 Buick LaCrosse or Kia Cadenza. Settled on a 2017 Buick LaCrosse and love it!!m Next car (a long time from now) will either be a Kia Cadenza or K900 or Genesis G80 or G90. If I could I would buy a Korean built K7 and ship it to America for the large LCD instrument display!!

    I've been driving a 2017 purchased in October same year, Purchase the base model without the Sun roof Harman kardon stereo, $4000 less, Which actually buys you more Headroom at 6' 4", 1st cars to go out the door, Especially when Kia is giving you back give or take $7900 During their fall sale, Granted sales tax , And other fees eat into that, As far as tires, I live in Florida I put michelin Sport 4s, From tire rack best road tire you can buy For the climate short of a racing tire, Solves all Noise and handling improves driving, That's said,extremely quiet Easy to drive being a Sedan person, A lot of Bang for your buck And I walk out of the dealership 25000 out the door,Brand new ,with a 100000 mile10 year warranty I tend to keep things,so if you talking about trading in your Lexus in 10 years tell me how much are going to get, that does it really matter, I like saving money, this car is a sleeper ,Go find me A lexis or any car with this many Features, I don't like a big screen on my dashboard( impala), I don't need all kinds of electronic Bells and whistles although it has them if you want to pay for them, No matter what trim you buy it's the same engine under the hood ,No problems so far Just change That oil , And when the 1st set of tires wear out go get the michelins, Tell me how your car drives now! Good review Alex. PS, With the savings I had my car ceramic coated, clear bra where is wasn't already Factory Installed on the rear view mirrors, rear bumper, part of the rocker panels, Just had those improved, Firstly I don't need my car to stick out so someone wants to screw with it it. looks great every day, blending in is just OK, it's A-sharp car when people look at it, Plenty of compliments , Didn't realise that the Cadenza was so sporty looking. Check it out.

    Own a 17 Cadenza SXL. Fully loaded, great road car (33 mpg. @ 70 mph.), no problems and is holding up well. Only issue, front wheel drive in this car is not the greatest winter driving performance with all-season Michelin tires. Purchased winter tires and wheel package from TireRack to solve problems and now drives through snow and ice like a tank. Had a Lexus GS and this to me is the better car. Comes off lease in May, might buy it or go to new Sorrento or even Telluride.

    Design of the Genesis Sedans and SUV is so cool that they make everything else instantly outdated.
