absolutely but not 76 ! i bet on 70 or 71 ! richard manuel could still hit the high note ! never ever again after 1973 ! Already in 74 with dylan otur he was struggling to sing high and after he never did it again ^^ just listen to the last waltz i shall be released he cant sing with falsetto .
Richard's voice sounds so good because the audio is raised half a tone and if you don't think it's from 1976 on my channel is the rest of the concert and with the correct tone :)
@@rooty_rootz. I like to practice my keyboards by playing along to this. I hit the first “C” chord and my ears about exploded. Realized quickly that it was a half tone higher. Also: there’s no “horns” here. There’s a “horn”. I love the comment left on another Band video, where this guy said that The Band had a great horn section: his name is Garth Hudson. Perfect.
i dont think this is with the band. could be solo manuel or when he toured with danko? I dont hear Helm singing in background also doesnt sound like him on drums. just my 2c ps it is an awesome version though :D
This is not from 1976! Richard manuel could barely sing during this tour and his voice was broken . I think it's 1970 or 1971 ! its sure its with the band robbie robertson guitar tone is there and not imitable ! But never happened in 76 !

Powerful. LOVE the horns in there and the vocals are the best thing I've ever heard! This is The Band at the height of their powers!
One of the best songs The Band ever did
Dylan s lyrics
Beautiful.
the horns! the horns!
8/25/76 Greek Theatre.
I heard Levon in in there at least one time , the first time they say “ and life is brief “
Maybe rehearsals for the Academy of music 71 run? Great stuff! Thanks!
With “horn”. I’d bet my house that Garth was doing a Sax solo.
Definitely with the band, listen at 2:20 to Robbie's pinch harmonics
....one of his 'trademarks' - makes him stand out.

"Tears of Grief" reads the artwork.
No way this is from 76 richards voice isnt shot enough
This has been raised a semitone from the original, giving the illusion that Richard's voice is younger *this is in C# major, the original is in C*
