- It took over 511 hours over the course of the year to reach this point. Found out the max level is 713 and all stats are capped at 99! It took me 1.7 Billion Runes to go from level 247 to 713. Since I'm so close to capping runes a second time I decided to continue to 2 Billion Runes and cap runes twice. Yes... this is madness, but given how close I am might as well do it again.
The sword is the Sacred Relic Sword you get after beating the last boss in the game. The sword has an ash already applied called Wave of Gold.

Nice vid! For anyone wondering, it would take around 80 hours of in game time to get from lvl 1 to 713, assuming you're on ng+7, have the golden scarab on and get the overkill bonus. Also, gold-pickled foul foots don't end up increasing total runes gained per hour due to the amount of time you spend farming for them.
I always wondered how long it would take at higher levels of new game+. I think I spent roughly 40 hours to beat the game the first time (maybe 60). My thinking is if I got to ng7 that would take at minimum 280 + 80 hours you say. I think my game time is high because I would just leave my game running while doing other things during a day so I can just quickly pick up the controller and peck away. I have a sense there is a lot of hours where the game was sitting and doing nothing. I do remember many nights forgetting and letting the game run...
@@nispoe Fair enough, but once you beat the first game cycle, the ones after go by much quicker because you know what to do. My first run was around 48 hours, then my second was like 4 hours, and then eventually down to around 2 hours per run, which is definitely worth it for the extra runes imo. Even then, it takes a lot of patience to farm for that long, mad respect.
@@GeraldPreston1 yeah, understand each run would become faster, makes sense. I was thinking I'd try going against the game max level at ng1 to see if how things would feel. So many games out there, but I feel I'll keep coming back to this one since the world is so huge.

@@AirrD2 yeah but the main increase is from ng+0 to ng+1, nonetheless it will still increase a fair bit from ng+6 to 7

It did take forever, I capped out on runes at 1 billion, spent all runes to level, and then did it all over again.

Imagine dlc doesn't let you use your max level character
I did, once, and was thinking I would just try to grind out new levels again from a fresh game. I also imagined new higher caps and level. My imagination went a little crazy... I even imagined I would continue with this maxed character... I know crazy talk right? 🤣
I just hit 700, 13 more to go should have it this week Sir. Seeing some battles being easier.

I'm Rune level 456 with 350+hours on said character. Another smaller character around 120. Going for 713 on the 456 character this year. I might make a third new character for dlc but I'm definitely bringing my high ng+7 character to dlc (going to be riugh at first). I'm the type of person who doesn't get bored after maxing stuff. Can play months after still. Been playing maxed characters, meta characters and low level challenge run characters since Dark Souls 1 and 2. Always make three different ones for max pve, meta pve/pvp, challenge pve low ng. A lot of times a 4th and 5th to relive it all.
Yeah, I'm sort of the same. It used to be when I got Atari and Nintendo cartridges I would play the same thing over and over. Games like Zelda and later Final Fantasy were played to bits. I need to get back into the game, but after playing it to level need a break. Also, I have a new kid and trying to get through more school.

I only played FF7, FF12 and FF15. Couldn't get into any of the others but played those three a lot. Back in the day on the ps2 and og Xbox and super Nintendo, I played the same games over and over and over lol!!! Left 4 dead, fable, crash bandicoot, halo, you name it. I guess that's why today I don't mind replaying something a thousand times. After all, I paid for it, so I might as well get my money's worth.
@jaymarquis3482 Exactly, didn't have much as a kid and a cartridge or new disc felt like it was worth more at the time. After I went to college I told myself I'd never do that ever again... then I went back to school for the 3rd time and now working on a doctorate. Keep at it, just a little at a time over time and you can do anything.

The game itself is pretty huge with so much to explore and so many hidden secrets. I think it would take years to do everything the game could offer. Best bang for buck game for sure.

I set this up on the cronusmax to run afk. From the time i go to sleep to when i wake up it gains about 120 million on first new game.

This helps me de-stress and is more my hobby, and it was fun giving me a sense of accomplishment when grinding it out and earning runes and levels. It depends, I think I did a calculation before and posted somewhere. For me to get from mid 200 to 713 took roughly a year of on and off playing. My sense is for 600 to 713 if dedicated could take much less time. Maybe a couple or few months if this is all you did?

@RyzorX-YT NG+ is optional, if you do an NG+ much of the game is reset, so have to explore everything again to reach areas you already did in the first playthrough.
So technically speaking, how long would it take me on NG+4 and only killing the Mohg Bird?
I can't remember how much the bird gives you, but I think I remember around 30,000 runes. If you take this and each NG is about 10% increase. At NG+4 this would be about 43,923, but not sure exactly since they say the increase percentage varies by NG. So let's round and say 40,000 now they said there is a patch and the bird will fall 50% of the time to it's death, so now this becomes on average 20,000 runes if you do this a whole bunch of times (kind of like the probabilities of flipping a coin). Now for me I started at a higher level but it took me about 1.7 billion runes. If you can kill the bird every 20 seconds for 20,000 runes to get to 1.7 billion runes that would be 472.22 hours or 19.68 days. That sounds like a little, but this took me a really long time since I did a little at a time over the years as a hobby.
How much does it give if you use the new gold horn tender
I haven't tried the DLC yet, but I looked up the tender and it says 40%. Each run was about 20 seconds for 100,000 each run. This would be around 140,000 each 20 seconds. If these tenders are easy to get this may be useful, but I tried other consumables and found that it was just easier for me to just do the farm instead of taking up too much time prepping.
That's some dedication my man! You could also try maxing out your levels in other souls games like dark souls 3.
That's an idea, they have a remastered version, I think. I did buy Armored Core 6 but afraid once I get started I'd get sucked in.

I found it takes 3 or 4 swings with my sword during a run down the hill. I also sprint going down the hill and the wave hits more.

Roughly on and off during a year or so. Sometimes I'd jump in for 15 or 30 minutes as a hobby each day, and other times I'd binge some show while grinding away for a couple hours or more when I couldn't sleep.

Nice and grats on getting to NG+. I think if I had anther life I'd play and try to earn runes along the way to level... the risk is knowing me I'd collect so much I'd die and lose a great number. I think depending on your build it depends on what you take to 99 first. I know when I made my first pass to cap out I focused on strength, vigor, and faith since my weapon and build used it.

Initially I was working on a Strength, Vigor, Faith, and oddly put a lot of point into Arcane for fun. The armor set is Radahn's armor, and the sword is the Sacred Relic Sword with the Ash that came with it called Wave of Gold.

Guys do this method at night because enemies will have yellow eyes that will give you x5 runes❤
Is it only at night? I always wondered why I would occasionally get those with yellow glowy eyes. Yeah, I was getting around 24,000 to 29,000 for those depending on the type of mob.

@@nispoewhat the hell are you talking about?!😂 they’re talking about in-game night🤷♂️ not the time of day it is for you!😆 they mean make it night time in the game, but as others said, it’s totally random. Also with all the albunarics including the four at the bottom of the hill, and the bird in the distance to the left when you’re facing away from the grace nets about 56,000 runes. But in some cases I’ve found it can be more economical to just do the bird then rest at grace and repeat. That way you get about 11,000 runes per 30 secs. For my lv 222 character I can wipe out all of them in about 1-2 minutes, but for lower levels it can be better just to snipe the bird. My second build I got the Pureblood Knighys medallion immediately after killing Godrick. I wanted to get my levels up ASAP. I ball farmed way too long on my first build and even did it for ages after I had the medallion. Wasted so much time at lenne’s rise

The scarab is supposed to give you 20% more runes. Not sure how much runes you'll get at NG+7, and think it will be much more given you get more scarabs at higher NG+. I'm at NG+1 at the moment.

Depends on how focused you are and what you're farming. I was farming on and off for about a year. If I did nothing else I bet from 358 to 713 would take maybe a few months, but that would be all I would be doing, and to be honest probably not fun.
I am Lvl 440 NG+ (yes, only NG+) and Palace Road is just to long, I dont understand how I can get 6 million for the later levels there? Or 8 Million? It would take 220 runs just for one level!
I was only and still am NG+, and I remember in the past doing the math. I think each run was shy of 100,000, and each run took 20 seconds. I timed myself. In a minute, that would mean about 300,000 runes. Depending on the level, yes, it scales, and if you watch some of my later videos, you can see how much the runes were scaling for each level. It was getting very expensive at the end for one level.

I think there's only so much max endurance will give you. I should probably strip down to see how the bar looks without equipment or items.

@@nispoe heard! I can’t force myself to move any of my 10 (is it?) characters past 150. I don’t even know what the standard level ranges are anymore for multiplay, but end game is pretty much all about coop and invasions for me. Maybe I’ll push one into the great beyond. It’s kinda nice how easy ER makes it to change up your characters anyways.
@@JonahsWailYeah, I have other characters and lower levels to just explore the game, but having one and just swapping out gear if you have all stats is kind of nuts. I think multiplayer was fun when friends were all into the game at the start. I just seem to be more of a solo player and not much into PvP either.

I remember when initially playing I had troubles with certain bosses during my first run. I felt I had to level up, get better gear, and a better ashe to progress. Here's my first video where I just beat the game and got the sacred relic sword and started to do this rune farm to cap max level (ua-cam.com/video/XDthSPXSrGY/v-deo.html). It shows that I was at level 247.

Not sure exactly how many hours, but my game says I'm over 600 hours of game time. I think roughly 400 or 500 hours was used for just doing this. I did a little bit every day for about a year. Had some binge moments while watching videos. My first video with 100 million runes was published April 14, 2022 and last video of 2 billion runes was September 18, 2023.

The Wave of Gold is something that came on the sword. The sword is the sword you get after beating the last boss. I think this is special to the sword, but maybe you can pull this off and apply to another sword, but haven't tried. Maybe worth looking into on next NG+ games.

I think maybe about 10 months or 471 hours. The video I started with ua-cam.com/video/XDthSPXSrGY/v-deo.html is for 100 Million Runes posted April 14, 2022 and this video is September 2, 2023. This about 16 months, and I had maybe 6 months where I was so slammed with work, doctorate, and new baby couldn't touch anything. I think I spent maybe 40 hours just playing the game so 511 hours minus the 40 hours is about 471 hours.

Oh, I think I explained the wrong thing. NG+ is New Game after beating the game, you can play again while keeping some things from the first play throigh.

Fun fact: it only takes 4 hours of strait duping 699 lord runes to reach max level!
Also if you think this would get you banned I have an account with 700 hours and still nothing has happened. All you need is a friend or another pc/laptop with Elden Ring.
I think for me it's the repetition that helps me with stress. I'm sure there are faster ways to do this, but this is the way I did it. I'm not really racing anyone either.

If you really think about this... when is the last time you really sat or touched grass? I can't remember the last time I even mowed my lawn because I've been too busy working, kids, school... I've been paying someone else for the last couple years because I've been working through my doctorate and just had a new kid... Yeah, the game still has mechanics you need to learn, can't brute force everything. I didn't do this to make anything easier. Did this because I can and wanted to max things out for fun.

It was nice of you to spend 511 hours on this (over 3 hours per subscriber) but it seems like you could have shown us what you can do at max levels, not just show you leveling up the stats.
What's funny is that was my original intention, to level a little to get through the game on NG1. Then one thing led to another, and then leveling became the game. I'll definitely try some bosses, but decided to take a break after a couple years of leveling ;) You bring up an interesting perspective I never thought about (3 hours per subscriber). Nice, how do you know over 1000 hours? I think I remember reading somewhere the game files have some hour cap like runes.
@nispoe when you load the file the time is right there. I play on playstation I'd assume it'd be the same on whatever platform.
@@aaronrodgers2092 Yeah, I looked this up and found there was another cap at 999:59:59 hours maybe this is for PC and the one character. Not sure but think I may try to cap this also since I'm close. I think Steam will capture total gaming hours which for me is spread across 3 characters, but overall haven't hit anything over 1000 hours yet.

Sanity was already lost long long ago. Just a little over time, took around 2 years of doing this.

This is not D's sword, but I think I have that in my inventory somewhere. Both swords have a similar shape. This sword is the sword you get after beating the Elden Beast at the end of the game. It's called the Sacred Relic Sword and has an Ash named Wave of Gold.

@@yousifalsendi1581 I think only the golden scarab, I avoided consumables because of the time it took to collect. For me this was a quick hobby at times, and I didn't want to spend time gathering items.

What NG+ is this. I’m on NG+3 and I just hit 301.
I only finished the game once for the sword and stayed on NG1.
Would you be ok losing the 4mill runes from dying and never recover it 😂
There was a chance once where I died and lost over 800 or 900 Million runes. I forgot that I could pick up the golden twig and freaked out for a moment. I was going to log out and then saw the twig on my mini map, and very very carefully cleared my way back to it to recover all runes. So relieved and went to sleep that night feeling the best ever.
Oh yeah, I think nobody would be okay losing many runes, but losing 4 million isn't as bad as 800/900 million
I was at level 713 within the first 2 weeks. But some secrets are best left hidden 🤫

I use a script to farm runes while I am at work. I have not reached max level yet.
I'm curious how long it takes with a script do provide an update. From my perspective I was doing this to take a break from work and play a game.

@worldsfutureleader5952 You aren't the only one to ask this, I have no idea or who I would possibly be matched with. Then again, my sense is I don't have enough time put in for PVP. I would get wrecked by good players.
@@leviathansparrow6244 yeah who knows, I have a feeling those who spent the hours just drilling in the muscle memory to defeat Albinaurics has refined and more than mastered all the ways to do it. I just now need to switch to PVP and see how that goes. Kind of like Let Me Solo Her has mastered Malenia.
As another lev 713 player for like 8 months yes u can still still invade as the cap is 300+ so that's who you will be facing. It's cancer tho
@@Toffee-clan is there any advantages, or does it kill the spirit to be so unevenly matched? My sense is skill would still win against a max player.
@nispoe level doesn't matter much past 300 really. And invasions become near impossible at the high bracket as it takes to long to kill and the trio will triple spam spells to kill u and there is no counter. U can try find a vid of a guy winning against triple gankers in top level bracket all spell spamming but there isn't. Only rng will help there
What is the point of this?
For me it was me keeping my sanity and taking a break. Work was busy, working on school (doctoral degree), married, newborn kid...

@@tmg5214 Ah, the videos are mostly me messing around learning how to make videos/content and see what comes from it. I think I'm improving and learning, and get people giving me tips here and there. I had some thoughts I'd start a channel about making stuff, or documenting technical stuff, or recording game stuff and see what would stick. What's neat to me is getting one subscriber and then then another, or doing something random like this and getting 10k or 20k views. Not sure what caused so many to want to watch this video, but it was exciting and think it's fun.
