Ohhhh so glad to see a Lindsay Sat Chat again. I lost everything in my 1st floor apt. During Helene And then I also survived Milton. I saved 99% of my fav art supplies. So the healing has begun. I’m tough, I will be ok. I’m just now trying to get back into a routine and that includes all Lindsay videos!❤❤❤❤ I will have a permanent home on Nov 8.

That’s awesome. I’m looking forward to #5 grandchildren in April 2025! Being grandparents is way more fun!!! My mom is excited to have more great grandchildren to spoil!!!
Anyone who cares about slave labour, the environment and their own health, should stay well clear of Temu. There are numerous articles about all this online, including the large amount of toxic chemicals in art materials, clothing and even shoes ! Also, the products are badly made and often cheap knock offs of other peoples designs. They have even been using images from artists websites to sell products without payment or permission. When something is so cheap, there is always a reason for that and it is never a good one. Thanks for a great Sat chat as always Lindsay and great to hear your father is back home.❤
Very good point about. I personally havent shopped at Temu or other online shopping platforms like that. I have to admit Ive been tempted because of their low prices and the one time i tried placing an order for some products on only what I felt I needed or wanted it wouldn’t let me complete it unless I added more stuff to get the discounted price. Since I want to avoid overconsumption or over consumerism I cancelled the order because I refuse to add products to my cart just because and they end up in the trash bin
I like the lighting without the circle light. I noticed the difference immediately without you saying why it was different. You don't have as much glare on the screen. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge and posting on you tube!!!!!
You are so right about these shopping outlets that lower prices below cost, put others out of business and eventually they're out too. I am a retailer and a few yrs ago worked. for privately owned nice dept store - but they started pricing high and then major % off sales - so low we employees couldn't pass up the deal but I knew not good. I had my own kitchen store 12 yrs. Had to take in $5000 mo just to pay employees and $2700 mo rent before even getting in any merchandise. None of us there had these ridiculous sales and no one went broke or overcharged. I enjoyed that life most of any of my 84 years!

Temu is such a frustrating shopping experience for me. I don't want to spin a wheel and have a timer ticking to get a certain 'deal' only to find out there is a minimum spend to get it. Always enjoy your sat chats! You look beautiful in this lighting and the previous lighting so I say go with whichever you prefer.

Hey Lindsay, thank you doe sharing. you look fine. I have been so busy with studio work and my nursing profession. I am not sure how it is in the United States but we had a raise in Covid cases lately but luckily it is was more like a flu than serious. I am so thankful for my art, it kept me ground with the craziness at work. Art wise i am had been loving using Cra-Z-Art washable watercolour paints. It is really cheap paints but they are popular in my country I can get it everywhere. It is very hard to purchase professional watercolour paints locally in the country of Belize. All of mines are imported in. I watched some other art youtubers Cra-Z-Art review they called it "crap paints:, but it is kind of funny because those are paints that are readily available to me in Belize. If I would listened to them it would probably discourage me from doing watercolour art because all i have are "crap paints". Good morning. I am so glad to hear your dad is doing well. I would love to see how you created your oil sticks this sounds so amazing 💕💕. Have a great weekend💕💕
Lighting, and you, look great. Glad to hear your dad is getting better. Your fish and chip painting looks so much fun. I am hopping off to see the video now.
The lighting looks good. No problem with it at all. Your experiment with the oil paints and pastels sounds really interesting. I was wondering how you melted them and never would have thought of the heat tool, but that's a great idea. I'm so glad your dad was able to go home. I've never ordered from Temu, but I know some have had good results with them for budget guitars and parts. I suppose it depends on what you're getting. I had a good week. My birthday was a couple of days ago so I'm thankful for that. We went for a drive to look at the leaves today, but not a whole lot of them have changed yet so we'll do it again later next week. Nice to get out of the house for awhile. I hope you have a great week. Thanks for another good Sat Chat.
I'm so happy to hear your dad is home now and I hope he makes a full recovery soon! I'll try signing up for your class and let you know if it works in Canada.
I always enjoy ur videos Lindsay ty for all you do your amazing I’m going to do a lot of painting this weekend and happy weekend to you also! Lighting looks fantastic
I have thought about making the oil paint sticks, because I don't enjoy oil pastels, I have a lot of those...don't know why, but I only have a small amount of oil paint. So I'm afraid to dot it...now I might, I don't use either anyhow..nothing to lose and I love making a big creative mess.
I will do a video ig mine work well. I think the paintvstiks are denser because it takes 2 oil pastels and the equivalent of one pastel of oil paint to male one of these sticks so it will use up some product.
That is the happiest cooked fish on a plate I have ever seen. All the elements have great dimension , it really looks 3D. I have no idea how you look in the lighting because I can't stop staring at the artwork😂 I sign up for the Michael's classes then on the day can't log in. I'm in Connecticut. Just 5 miles from a Michael's store ironically 🤔🤷♀️
Hi Lindsay. Glad your dad is home. Lighting was fine. I try to shop responsibly and want to know where my money goes. I would rather do with less than underpay and have people put out of work or work in deplorable conditions. I don’t like trickery to obtain customers. Have a great week. Oh and I signed up for Michael’s!
I like the lighting. It looks good! Glad your Dad is home and doing better. I didn't see the particular storage box at our DT 😢. They do have lipstick holders.
The lighting looks good. Unfortunately Walmart is sold out of the oil sticks.😢. I really like oil pastels but not that they never dry, so oil sticks sound great! You should consider creating a class using them.
Michaels doesn’t work here in the UK. It was the first website I went on when I went to Disney world in May. I bought the prismacolor pencils for 40% off saving over £120 that they would have cost me in the UK. You have taught me your American ways well over the years 🙌🏻😂 x
Hi, lighting is different, but I’m not sure I’d say better, just different. Glad your dad is home 😊. Im with you on the gimmicks popular in online shopping. Not good for economy, not good for the environment, and ultimately not good for consumers.
I'm in the USA and have had problems accessing the last two Michael's classes I signed up for. I am able to register but when it's time for the class, I can't get into it. I actually called Michael's and reported it, but I never heard anything back from them and still had the issue the next time I tried. So I'm going to try again for your next class and see how it goes. I actually ordered the Derwent graphitint pencils on Amazon 40% off and got them yesterday. I watched a couple of videos on them so I could learn more about them. I am going to test them out this week to see what I can do with them.
Hmm, make sure you have the current version of zoom on your device. You might have a pop up blocker that disables the zoom. If you make sure zoom works on your device before class you can troubleshoot any issues.
The lighting is good 👍. Lindsay you are so clever, those oil sticks you made look good enough to eat. You make me laugh so much - “my nails looked so gross I looked liked a dirty hobo” 🤣. Then the hair too lol. It looked lovely by the way. Thank you for another great Satchat 😊
I'm with you Lindsay on the temu thing, it is weird. I accidentally hit one of their ads, wasn't trying to and yeah the constant flashing lights etc. and I usually just use the back up key on my phone to get out of the ad, and it's like it won't let you out. So I just usually shut everything on my phone screen down and do a restart on my phone. Very very weird and annoying. If I get the chance to shop something you've reviewed, I'd rather just use your affiliate links. So very glad you're Dad is back home now. I'm sure he'll recover faster being with his family than at a hospital. Ohh, by the way, you are the prettiest sketchy hobo I've ever seen. 😊 Love and hugs. Take care and God bless you and your family. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas P. S. Your lighting is perfect.
I bought the Caran d-ache Neopastels during Prime days. I had been wanting them for ever so I took advantage of a good price (thank you for the notice). I hope you will do something with them sometime. I may be the only one but the other lighting seemed more flattering, you are lovely either way.😊
I am in California and I signed up for the last class and followed the link, but it took me to their page. That is when I had problems, I tired over and over to sign in, but it wouldn't. I gave up. It did let me sign in to buy, but not for the class, even though I had the email with the instructions and pin.
So glad your dad's back home . That is good news! One way I'm trying to discipline myself with spending: There are some pricey new tools I want...like a new camera...the newer Sizzix Switch electronic die cutting machine AND the new Sizzix Stamp & Stencil tool, and the Logan 450 mat cutting tool. I am holding off with purchasing any one of these new gadgets, nice though they be, until I can sell some other valuable tools & gadgets that are sittings round unused. Then I'll put that money toward the new stuff. If I keep buying new things and still keep the older yet still valuable tools too, I'll just feel like I'm being excessively wasteful.,So better to sell some things and then "pay it forward" towards getting the new things!
I love the different lighting today ~ it gives you a nice rosy glow and it's very flattering and natural looking. Temu scares me! I'm afraid if I even looked at their website, I'd be tempted to go down the rabbit hole and buy lots of things I'd later regret. So I just stay away from it. Plus, I agree with you about their unfair (and maybe unethical) business practices. I don't know anything about Create and Craft but I wish them good luck!
I did like the economic talk at the end, just sayin'! I said this on IG already, but I can't wait for another update on the oil sticks you made (video would be awesome!). If they're that messy to make, I appreciate you taking one for the team!
Hi Lindsay. I can only sign up as a guest (remain anonymous) so that's how I've signed up for all of your Michael's classes. It's no problem if you just use the sign in as guest option.
Lighting was just perfect…. Just stumbled across a product described as Oil paint sticks but “watersoluble” looks interesting only a basic set on Amazon right now says more colors coming. Have you seen it? Phoenix Professional Oil paint Sticks
The light looks good to me. On another note, I signed up for the last class at Michaels; the Fountain. I never got the confirmation and when I went to check on it, the class started. Very disappointing. I am based in the US.
I agree. Your lighting looks great 👍 love your sat chats! They always make me think. I bought a few of the document holders at dollar tree to store my watercolor paintings from your 30 days class. They worked great for that. Also on Temu, they’re using the same tactic Jeff bozos did when he undercut bookstores and so many closed. I’ve shopped on Temu in the past and not hating on anyone who does. Some people would have to work an entire day (think sub minimum wage. In Idaho, a waitress told us her wage was around $3/hr.) just to buy one new release stamp set, so a dramatic price reduction would be difficult to pass on. The market is hurt when those who always purchased the products jump ship and buy from Wish, Temu, Ally express (or whatever the name is) etc
Good morning - Lighting is great. Love the pumpkin class. I have had trouble signing up in the past couple of classes and kind of gave up. I will give the class a try and message you and let you know.
Your lighting looks great today!! You mentioned low attendance on the latest Michael's class. I "thought" I signed up, but guess I did something wrong and when the day came I realized I wasn't enrolled. The email I received was only an advertisement or thank you for signing up for newsletter or ? I'm sure it was user-error on my part. Glad your father is doing better.
The lighting looks good to me. Happy to hear your dad’s out of the hospital! The oil sticks experiments look great! I can’t wait to hear if they worked out. I didn’t trust t emu when they first came out, seemed like they are too good to be true. Especially when I got burned by Wish. Cheap prices but often items never arrived and then stolen credit card info. Then after when a few horror stories about them came out, yeah. I don’t trust that company one bit.
Hi Lindsay! No, the video doesn't look too dark.. looks fine to me. I don't like TEMU... mainly because they've set it up where you must buy using your phone app (instead of on a computer) if you want the lowest prices! I don't want them having access to my to my personal info. So, I don't buy from them. I am surprised that YT would be affiliated with them. TFS 💕
That's what shocked me, it gives it legitimacy and you think thevtemu hauls are bad now, think of how many there will be when greater can link to temu for 8% commission. Amazon only pays 3%. I can see many youtubers promoting temu aggressively now.
Hey Lindsay, great sat chat. I’m glad your dad is back home and doing well. Temu, I know what you mean. Even shady cheap products have exploded on Amazon too, the only difference is your credit card is in good hands, and refunds and returns are easier. I have heard though that US regulatory wip is about to crack on them and few others like SHEIN. Not throwing shade on anyone who buy from any of the places. I myself have bought things from questionable places, lol but always in cash. I have also realized over the years that it all depends on what do you want the thing for. If you want it to last or it’s something you’re going to consume in any way, I’ll wait, save and go for the right thing. If it’s welcome mat outside, then made in china is fine 😅
I ordered derwent graphitint pans on Amazon. It came from the uk. Went to USPS. Delivered the envelope today. NO Paints! Empty bag except for the packing slip! Ugh. Talked to customer service and after working it out I got a refund. Went to Blick and ordered. B was actually a few cents less and hoping It won’t have a long journey from the uk.
Lesson learned: only order if Amazon has it and they will deliver it! I usually have a problem when it’s being shipped from some where other than Amazon itself. Anyway now I am awaiting 2 orders from Blick! ❤
I would kind of like watching you do some of those oil sticks while chatting and telling us stuff and having some light music sounding int he background. I think it would be so calming and therapeutic :-) They totally look creamy.
I agree with you on Temu I shopped on that site one time then they send you text and emails saying oh you are able to get this for free. Then you go on theirs then it leads you to something else they are selling. It's just frustrating 😒! So I quit!! JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸.
Have you considered doing classes on Craftsy? Be curious to see the difference on platforms, including Skillshare, to know the difference. Often when it works for some and not others it's a server issue someone more advanced in IT can address. Our company has those issues many do. Usually a server issue. Anyway, like the lightning. I'm working today, so that's fun lol and nice to see ya! 👀
I did my first class on Craftsy. I don't think they are filming any more classes, tho. They have been sold 3 times since I filmed mine. It was a great experience, but I like being on a platform I control. Skillshare and udemy are not great for teachers unless you don't have a following and need their audience, but even then, you don't make much, and it's worse now with other changes. Parka Blogs did a review of the platform a couple of years ago. The worst things about those platforms is that you can't get info on people who are taking your class, so there is no way to reach out to your customers. It's like youtube in that way, and that is frustrating enough.
I’m with you on Temu….it just feels “off” to me for things. I have friends who are almost addicted to it and love it but I prefer to not support it. Also your lighting looks good today,
I work for a local taxi firm in the UK, Uber moved in a few months ago and have dirt cheap prices, making a loss overall. I don't know how they do it, how the drivers do it, but some of the drivers I work with are down a third on their earnings in comparison to this time last year. It used to be that drivers were restricted to working in the area in which their vehicle was plated, but our last government lifted that and now we have cars coming in from places about 100 miles away. Competition is healthy, but ourselves and our rival company have our prices looked over by our local council, I think it only fair Uber have the same. Sorry for the non-art related rant, but you mentioned Uber and Lyft and away I went, lol.
Ok my last comment....China businesses: I decided I'm going back to using Adobe (Premiere Rush) for my video editing software instead of Filmora Wondershare. The reason is that 1) I don't think Filmora is being very transparent about their plans & subscriptions (for longtime paid users) In fact, I think they're purposely making things confusing. And 2) I just noticed today that they are Chinese owned. Nothing against the Chinese people & culture...it's the issues of privacy and data security by the Chinese gov that I'm concerned about. That's the same reason I never signed up for TikTok. In fact, the Biden administration (on likely reliable intelligence) tried to ban TikTok use in the U.S. But there was such an outcry of protest by American TikTok users that it never happened. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't be banned.Just that maybe it hasn't gotten SO bad, yet, I don't know.
I did it because the price was a good as blick for the larger 6 stick set. I linked blick in the description because they sell the 1/2 stick sets that are more affordable.
They both are fabulous, it just depends on what you prefer. If you live in a warm climate I'd go with caran dache because they are firmer. Sennelier are lipstick soft. I prefer caran dache even though it gets cold here because I have a heavier hand. They are equally as good tho.

❤ The lighting looks good😊
Like the light the new way!
Awesome!
Another great sat chat.
Duties-doodies. I too am 8 years old. Nice! Thanks for another great box of chocolates.
Thanks for watching!
Have fun!
@@thefrugalcrafter I will and ty 🙂
You never cease to amaze me! Making your own oil sticks! That’s something I would do! Rofl!
I think that the lighting is perfect on this video. I like the more natural looking light.
Lighting looks great
Thanks 😊
You look great As always Lindsay. Can’t sign on from New Zealand.
Thanks for sharing!!
I like the lighting. It looks good! Glad your Dad is home and doing better. I didn't see the particular storage box at our DT 😢. They do have lipstick holders.
Do you remember how many lipsticks it held?
The lighting is great today! Fun stream!
That light is spot on! You should keep using it. 😉
I will!
The lighting looks good. Unfortunately Walmart is sold out of the oil sticks.😢. I really like oil pastels but not that they never dry, so oil sticks sound great! You should consider creating a class using them.
Hi Lindsay! Glad your dad is home and doing better:))
Thank you so much!
You look great today. You look more natural. Very interesting today. I enjoyed your findings in your experiment with making oil sticks. Thank you 😊❤
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.
@@thefrugalcrafter Thanks, I'll check that.
Oh thank you!
Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
P. S. Your lighting is perfect.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate your kind words.
I bought the Caran d-ache Neopastels during Prime days. I had been wanting them for ever so I took advantage of a good price (thank you for the notice). I hope you will do something with them sometime.
I may be the only one but the other lighting seemed more flattering, you are lovely either way.😊
Thanks for sharing!
I am in California and I signed up for the last class and followed the link, but it took me to their page. That is when I had problems, I tired over and over to sign in, but it wouldn't. I gave up. It did let me sign in to buy, but not for the class, even though I had the email with the instructions and pin.
How odd.
Also I am in Canada and inwas able sign up for Michael's class no problem 😊
I love the different lighting today ~ it gives you a nice rosy glow and it's very flattering and natural looking. Temu scares me! I'm afraid if I even looked at their website, I'd be tempted to go down the rabbit hole and buy lots of things I'd later regret. So I just stay away from it. Plus, I agree with you about their unfair (and maybe unethical) business practices. I don't know anything about Create and Craft but I wish them good luck!
I totally agree!
Lightning was great. Thanks.
I’m in Canada and had no trouble signing up👍❤️
I used a document folder like that and created a gansi tambi pallet. Works great for them.
That is such a great idea!
I did like the economic talk at the end, just sayin'! I said this on IG already, but I can't wait for another update on the oil sticks you made (video would be awesome!). If they're that messy to make, I appreciate you taking one for the team!
Coming soon!
Hi Lindsay. I can only sign up as a guest (remain anonymous) so that's how I've signed up for all of your Michael's classes. It's no problem if you just use the sign in as guest option.
Thanks, I'll pass that along!
I really like today's lighting. You look fabulous.
Oh thank you!
Oh no! Thanks for the info
The lights are great and I thought your hair looks amazing 😊
Oh thank you!
Brilliant idea. Can't wait to see how the sticks turn out. Btw, the anchor with your initial in it, where did you get that?
Hello, Lindsay. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome!
Good point, many buyers would not have bought it otherwise.
Yes lighting is less glaring, washing you out!!🎉
Yay! Thank you!
Good morning - Lighting is great. Love the pumpkin class. I have had trouble signing up in the past couple of classes and kind of gave up. I will give the class a try and message you and let you know.
Thanks, Sheila, I swear it's always something 😆
I agree with you about the company. It's good to be wary!
Good lighting, very natural.
Thanks!
Lighting is just fine!!!
Blick is reliable!
I would kind of like watching you do some of those oil sticks while chatting and telling us stuff and having some light music sounding int he background. I think it would be so calming and therapeutic :-) They totally look creamy.
Great idea!
I agree with you on Temu I shopped on that site one time then they send you text and emails saying oh you are able to get this for free. Then you go on theirs then it leads you to something else they are selling. It's just frustrating 😒! So I quit!! JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸.
I signed up for the Michael's class. Question can I just watch the hour to see how the Graphatinit pencils work before buying them?
Of course! You are under no obligation to buy anything. Use what you have, watercolor pencils would work.
@@thefrugalcrafter oh nice thank you! I'm intrigued for sure about the pencils but want to see first :-)
Have you considered doing classes on Craftsy?
Sounds like me! I always want to buy more and need to use what I have! Yikes!
I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. It's not fair and when they run the taxi companies out of business they will jack up prices. I hate it.
Here from Canada has zero problems signing up for the class (as a guest, I don't have a michael's account). Just FYI.
Thaaks!
You look Wonderful Lyndsay!
Thanks 😊
The new lighting gives you a natural glow imo. The other is a bit too bright for my taste. But you do you!
Wondering if you put the Walmart link for Sennelier, or if youtube did it.
I did it because the price was a good as blick for the larger 6 stick set. I linked blick in the description because they sell the 1/2 stick sets that are more affordable.
Sorry Lyndsey, I got another question
Which oil pastel are the best sennelier or caran d’ache
They both are fabulous, it just depends on what you prefer. If you live in a warm climate I'd go with caran dache because they are firmer. Sennelier are lipstick soft. I prefer caran dache even though it gets cold here because I have a heavier hand. They are equally as good tho.
Lighting is good!
Oh good:)
Lighting is better! Thanks Lindsay!!
Good to know!
I love the fish and chips!
Thanks 😊
