Pretty sure 20 minutes in the big crystal cave will kill you, because it's like 60 degrees celsius in there, which if I understand how Fahreneit works, is like 200 degrees.
140 degrees
60 degrees is hot but survivable if you have the right equipment.
It might take a few hours to kill you not 20min if you had no equipment though. It would be a slow painful death.
It’s so hot that the coldest place is your lungs, and water will start to condense inside your lungs
Also I think it’s full of like toxic gas or something
Okay so im gonna assume its not open for turism? Can you rent the equipment?
I lost it for a good 30 seconds at the "And now, the weather". So much so that my spouse next to me was confused, so I introduced her to WTNV.

Fun fact: Desert Bluffs doesn’t exist anymore. It had been integrated into the Night Vale general community after various supernatural terrors fucked up their government.
Clearly referring to Desert Bluffs 2 in the desert otherworld.

Hey Lexi that cave with the giant crystals is one of the only places on Earth you can drown on dry land
lovely
12:48 i am dutch and have been to sprookjeswonderland many times as a kid and i can tell you that the intent is very much there for it to be creepy. Because if i am not mistaken that is from the wolf and the zeven goats. Its a pretty fun fairytale, if you want it in dutch its called ''de wolf en de zeven geitjes''.
He kinda reminds me of Dr Wince from the late 80's tv show Gophers

6:11 Some sort of glass sponge. Probably a lyssacinosidan
6:17 Elasipodid(?) sea cucumber

A little random fact: the black lines of a barcode are not what's scanned, the spaces in between them are.
11:22 I can just so clearly see a little toddler crying because they don’t want to go near that thing but you have to go past it in order to get to the dentist so the parent is just begging their sobbing child to walk past and trying to convince them that they won’t get eaten and then eventually carrying the kid while they bury their face in the parent’s shoulder.
Thank god it’s not 3am right now

Lexi, the great Queen of Emkay and Technology, hath return.
You were pretty much spot on with the pronunciation of Sprookjeswonderland. The only criticism I could give is that we pronounce the "oo" as an "oh" sound.
As for the translation. Sprookjes just means Fairy tales. So it means Fairy tales wonder land (or remove the spaces for a 1:1 translation).
8:33 girl they still do it, in historical towns at least. I watched a house get moved down the street just last year! It was a whole big event for people to come watch. They wanted to build a community center on the property but the owners didn’t want to destroy the historical house. I don’t remember if it was protected or if they just didn’t want to tear it down
0:58 it was the first, it has seen *everything*
Nice reference
For the statue outside the dentist office, they need to just chuck it into the nearest city dump. If they're going to go for something, at least get an animal holding a toothbrush made out of wood.
Eyyyy, I got so excited when I heard the Night Vale reference! I heard Desert Bluffs and thought "Oh, that must be a coincidence" and then it kept going and I got way too happy
I actually live near Baby Head Cemetery! It's in-between Cherokee and Llano right next to the road
It's oddly terrifying and very fascinating because back in the wild west days, the Native Americans would raid the farms around there and kill everyone, sometimes only sparing the young girls on the farms to marry into their tribes or use as slaves and killed later. It's called Baby Head because the Native Americans decapitated the babies and placed their heads on fencing to be found later. The babies and families are actually buried there to this day (which is why some people stop to check the cemetery out and take pictures. There's a sign up too with the story/history on it for tourists to read)
The stories have been passed down by both the small towns it sits between. It's definitely interesting even though it's very gory, sad, and terrifying!
That’s so rad
Lexi is immune to most animal scares... except bugs. Bugs are her no-no.
That weird cult card at 5:00 actually has a working website with the image. And yes, the website is very crappy.
i already did its an alien-god believing/RFID is bad website
@3:50 ; those caves are terrifying (to me) because they are hot enough, and humid enough that if you were to enter unprotected, the water would condensate on the *inside* of your lungs... as that is the coolest spot in the cave. Hence why they're wearing full body protective gear and heavy packs.
I love the firefighter standing in front of the firenado, he's just like "well, I don't think we can save that house."
Someone get Lexikitty a teleporter or some futuristic form of transportation so she can travel.
To balance this out Lexi should get a cute reddit next.

THE RETURN OF THE QUEEN
The funny part about Miss America from Battle Fever J is her name is Diane Martin and played by the Japanese actress named Diane Martin but she can't speak Japanese her voice was dubbed over in Japanese
Hearing Lexi first thing in the morning is always a pleasant surprise
3:53 the reason why Crystal caves are so terrifying and dangerous it's because of you don't have good friction on crystals like that one slip and you fall to your death by getting impaled by thousands of crystals.
It’s also so humid in there water will form in your lungs and this will happen in 10 minutes without protective gear on.
@@Myhouseiscurrentlyburningdown it's also around 140° F

I can't wait to see Ashtar Sheran's reaction when he finds out about terahertz microwaves.

5:23 is that a sea anemone?
SAM IS THAT YOU?-
3:47 - The catch to that cave is that it's so hot and humid that if you were to walk in there without one of those suits you would literally drown in your own lungs in a few minutes. Remember kids, water condenses on the _coolest thing_ in the area. That cave and everything in it is well over 100 deg F and your lungs are not. Plus I believe it's virtually 100% humidity, so the air's saturated.
Freakin' weird though, and gorgeous to boot. Funny how frequently those two things go together, isn't it?
We need more Lexi videos!
7:21 Nononono… NO HELL NO! I am getting Hellmire PTSD from Helldivers II just by seeing that firetornado…

I love Lexi's WTNV references so much
3:30 The Salt Pits of Hoxxes was once the location of a huge underground lake. It dried up billions of years ago and left huge crystallized deposits of red salt. Red salt - though worthless - tastes really good on Glyphid omelettes.

In case you were wondering, Citipati is a protector deity in Tibetan Buddhism that’s representative of the inevitability of death and change. A dance in their honor is done twice a year in Tibet.
LEXI QND NIGHTVALE IN THE SAME VIDEO? HELL YEAH
5:46 I ah… I think it’s a picture of something eating… these look like 2 separate organisms and the dark brown one looks like it’s in some kind of film or mucus being pulled into the whitish thing… the whiteish thing might be some kind of sea cucumber or related to sea cucumbers because I know those things literally throw up their guts. I forget if it’s to hunt of scare away predators, tho… but I’m not a marine biologist so I could be dead wrong about all of this 8D
10:27 willing to bet this is like a Halloween prop or even a sweeney todd theatre prop in storage
That's what I was thinking. I used to work at a haunted house and we had loads of props like that.
Taxidermy with googly eyes
that crystal cave is scary because you can only stay in it something like 30 min or risk being baked alive
2:15 Modern people have been conditioned to find forests terrifying. There are dangers, especially getting lost in a large wilderness forest, but mostly it's just all the horror movies that use forests for a disorienting and claustrophobic vibe. My love of walking in the forest has freaked out many friends and coworkers, but I grew up visiting forested parks.
THAT NIGHT VALE REFERENCE TOOK ME SO OFFGUARD!
Lexi made a Night Vale reference! ❤
12:37 It's Dutch, it has the perfect amount of vowels, at least Dutch is a language with consistent rules, and it means "Fairy tale wonderland". Yeah wonderland and wonderland mean the same thing, no they're not pronounced they same. English is a bloody weird language, it's literally Dutch with a lot of French and a smidgen of Norse and practically no Celtic at all. This is why yous can't understand Dutch even though it's the closest related major language (I'm ignoring Scots and Friesian for that, they are both more closely related. Scots the most and Friesian second.).
I wasn't expecting a Night Vale reference but here we are
7:41 I'm offended that is absolutely a little friend creature and I would happily take him home with me and cherish him forever. He's just a lil funky, leave him alone!
Mr. Ballen had a good episode on the crystal cave - iirc, basically, without proper gear and more than a few minutes, you'll cook to death.
So the Battle Fever J uniform isn't fully shown in the picture, it was a leotard suit with skin coloured tights, blue boots (matching gloves) with a star on the chest, and a shield with a yellow star, red and white stripes and a blue background and the staff, BFJ was also from 1979 which explains the looks, the other outfits for the other rangers also represent different placed but with Battle in front of their names (Battle Japan, Battle Kenya, Battle France and Battle Cossack). I believe the most "recent" usage for the suits was in 2012 when Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger aired and the rangers used their suits and because Super Megaforced used footage from Gokaiger, the BFJ suits weren't used since there was never a BFJ adaptation
Thanks for reminding me i should listen to Nightvale again.
NOT THE NIGHTVALE REFERENCE! Lexi continues to be one of my favorite internet peoples 🥰
I was once waiting for my mom to come out of her office and started to hyperfocus on the leaves nearby. Until I saw something move that wasn't a leaf. I'm absolutely scared of these at home as they buzz really loud when they fly but they were quite cute on the leaves. I'm talking about the Nezara Viridula or Southern Green Stink bug.
8:05 that's the mascot of a and I quote 'retail, pharmacy and drugstore' chain here in the Netherlands called Kruidvat. I recognized it right away lmao
The mascot has a name, it's called Koko.

12:45 He's the VILLAIN! He's SUPPOSED to look evil!
Also, since you clearly have not experienced what you're talking about, I'd suggest you go there yourself. If you want less goofy animatronics then maybe go to her sprookjesbos (the fairytale forest), but honestly both are good fairytale lands (If I remember Sprookjeswonderland correctly from when I was a quite young child. Sprookjeswonderland specializes in fairytales, the Efteling has more things beyond that as well since it's the prime theme park in the Netherlands. They helped Disneyland become Disneyland. They flew so Disneyland could run.).
But trust me, if you go, you'll thank me later.
You're my favorite, Lexi. Never change.
that crystal cave at 3:50, if im thinking of the right cave, is so humid that you would drown of you were in there over an hour with protective gear on.
How long would you last without protective gear then?
The legend behind Baby Head Cemetary is both sad and creepy at the same time. Lexi, on the otherhand, is neither sad nor creepy😊.
For the underwater mining zone, it is actually dredging of the sea floor for those black rocks or something similar. Those are mineral deposits containing metals formed over hundreds of millions of years. Also home to abundant life and critical for many organisms to reproduce and survive, the nodules are extracted at slim profit margins.
3:29 I think that's the cave where you need oxygen masks and can't stay there more than 20 minutes because it's litterly 58°C in there
That quartz geode cave is in Chile. The temperature is a little over a hundred and the humidity is 100%. Without those respirators the water in the air would cool down in the explorer’s lungs and drown them.
Also, to explore the cave it had to be drained of water, the miners rich water being necessary to grow the quartz crystals, so the cave which had been undisturbed for millions of years was irreversibly altered for that photo.
Fun facts.
Nice Night Vale reference there!
I loved the welcome to nightvale reference
