We're talking race, culture here... modeling is a job that requires to be tall and sadly there arent any plus size models in this video but the diversity she was talking about was more about representation, diverse races which in fact in the fashion industry is not as represented as we would believe. So it's good to see that all of those aren't juste green or blue-eyed dutch blondies. And it might not be great (bc the lack of plus size models) but it's good enough to show us that this industry is finally moving forward.

The reason models don't smile is because they need to create distance from the model and the clothing. The moment the model smiles it adds personality to the photo, as they are trying to sell clothing (not the models) the models aren't usually supposed to smile. ya know?

It would be. In magazines a lot models often smile when they demonstrate makeup looks and such, but its not the same.
They're high fashion. What you're thinking about are commercial models. High fashion prefer the stern/fierce/intimidating look

It is sad that this is one of the higher ranked Teen Vogue videos. Some of their others only have a few thousand views. As a journalist myself and a beautician, the content of their channel is very weak and not very creative. This literally is the best they can come up with. No wonder the magazine sales are so abysmal! Their channel is dead too!

Chelsea yes they do, I mean just look at them it's clear as day. There's naturally skinny and there's these models. I'm not saying they aren't beautiful but they could all do with at least a few extra pounds. It's iresponsible to encourage such an unhealthy look.
All the models i know, including myself, are naturally skinny. It is very normal to be skinny, just go to a high school or college and loo around.
