      Not to confuse 'Pretending to be someone you're not' with 'you're perfect the way you are'.
      The way you worded that was almost like "Chris said I can be a piece of shit, but it's everyone elses problem' - which is deffs not the message he's trying to convey.

    This is more like winning the lottery than 1950's courtship. He's in a position as a hyper alpha at the top of the physical hierarchy. Most men will not be able to satisfy their wife's desire or lust for past exes or future opportunities. Too many women today have wandering eyes and the illusion of grass is greener and infinite choice.
    I'd take this with a massive grain of salt. Most women will perceive vulnerability as weakness..... well unless you are a 6'1 gigachad on top of the world of physique. In this case, literally. The balancing act is heavily skewed towards a much longer leash towards genetically gifted men vs the average Joe. It doesn't take the modern woman very long to catch the ick or revert into a masculine role if her man isn't on point emotionally, say more than 90% of the time.

    • @donaldsodav290
      @donaldsodav290 4 дні тому +4

      @dahliaherrod4301 Firstly, I wasn't talking about his woman. I was referring to the fact that any man who is by definition a gigachad has a much longer leash when it comes to expressing emotions and being vulnerable around a woman. She knows she won, and it's her best option. This is an exceptional case, and his wife probably does love him to this extent. Most women will also do the same for gigachad. Most men are not gigachad; therefore, grass is greener and wandering eyes and ick factor when emotionally vulnerable too often or given a short leash. Look at the divorce stats and who initiates them.

    Notable is that success/drive (2nd in an Olympian competition) combined with a willingness to emote is what was seen as attractive.
    Emoting alone is not going to have this effect.
    Put yourself out their AS you pursue your authentic path to building in the world; only broadcasting your hardships will not attract the kind of partner you would desire to do life with

    I see this as very easily debunkable. This isn't the way it is for the average man, at all. You don't show your weakness to your woman and she goes 'Oh wow how strong of him?!' It'd rather be 'Oh now I am the masculine side over here'

    • @MsSassyBlondie

  • @riffhurricane

    Not saying I disagree with any of this per se, but I have to ask: what special qualifications does a bodybuilder have for dishing out life/relationship advice?

    • @SuChendrgn
      @SuChendrgn 4 дні тому +23

      Why would you need ‘special qualifications’ for that? It’s human experience. Everyone has their own insight that is valuable to someone else.

    • @riffhurricane
      @riffhurricane 4 дні тому +2

      @@SuChendrgn I agree with you - everyone has their own human experience. So coming back to my question: if its just basic human experience (ie: bleeding obvious common sense) why don't we have just anyone on? What special wisdom does a bodybuilder bring to the table? Do nice muscles help with this?

    • @teun_haan
      @teun_haan 4 дні тому +3

      Its never about the qualifications. People follow him because he is a role model. How did you end up finding this?
      Some random married person of the street could share the same wisdom. Its not about the person that tells it but how well you listen to them.

    • @riffhurricane
      @riffhurricane 4 дні тому +1

      @@teun_haan I found Chris a while back because he was interviewing someone I was interested in - whoever it was they were an expert in their given field & knew their onions.
      I certainly don't 'follow' either of the Chris' here or regard them as role models though I concede the advice given in this show could be useful if you'd never figured it out yourself. But still... no one better, more lucid or articulate out there than a bodybuilder?
      Its not "the person that tells it" or "how well you listen". If they're talking nonsense listening closely won't help you at all. Its what they say that matters most. Chris Bumstead is a smart articulate guy & I like him, but he's on the show because he's a bodybuilder - not a philosopher or life coach.
      Anyway if you liked this stay tuned for next week's show. Jordan Peterson will be on giving advice about the best workout for legs and arms and a list of his favourite whey proteins.
