This guy is probably one of the last “industry” celebs I actually like to take advice from. His audiobook was truly something amazing. Aside from it being written and presented like a movie, he really seems like he is a real dude who’s been through some shit and made it out.
He endorses a snake oil hair loss brand that he claims he used to regrow his hair when it’s obviously not the case. Hard to trust him after seeing that.
The snake oil hair loss brand that he endorses, Regenix, is a pretty bad look for him IMO. He claims using this product helped him grow back his hair when the ingredients are total BS. Just vitamins and minerals that show no evidence in growing back hair. Seriously makes me question what else he’s willing to lie about for money.

Matthew is such an interesting combination of in the clouds and down to earth... He's very much a three-dimensional real person, and that's something that seems very rare in Hollywood. Really enjoyed this, Chris.
The intro to this conversation was so refreshing… no big trailer, enticing clips or out and out limbic hijacking… Rogan, Bilyeu, Howes, Bartlett and definitely Brand could all learn a thing or two from that approach to starting a show!
Celebrities probably hate most interviews because they've heard the questions before, but Chris dives deep and deconstructs their past and their success. It took a few minutes for Matthew to get comfortable with the deeper format, but he really got into it and seemed to enjoy talking about it.
Every young man in today’s world needs to watch this. Not just for Matthew McConaughey, but for every single lesson spoke upon. All of this is essential life shit we need to keep in our back and front pockets.
I've always loved 'If' by Rudyard Kipling. I especially like the line: "If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster and treat those two imposters just the same...." This says to me that the best and worst times in your life are just temporary - so don't put too much emphasis on either one. Much of this conversation touched on this idea. Very cool interview. Thank you.
This stanza: "With sixty seconds' worth of distance run-- Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And --which is more-- you'll be a Man, my son!" Came to my mind this past week.
People like MM are rare. He has a poetic, truly original take on life that often contradicts the zeitgeist but resonates nevertheless. The collective unconscious created by the social media seeps into us (sacrifice your 20s, discipline = freedom, embrace discomfort, modern dating, female body count). You go to successful people and a lot of the times they say the same thing in different ways. MM’s advice and perspective is a lot more of an art than a prescription. Definitley contrasts with Chris. He gives people a different way to success and happiness. It’s truly refreshing
This episode is packed with gems! I’m blown away by Matthew McConaughey’s authenticity and the honesty he brings to the table. He’s willing to share so much with the audience, and it’s refreshing to see someone so open about their journey. His book Greenlights really opened my eyes to the ups and downs-the twists, setbacks, and hard-won lessons that come with pursuing success. It’s definitely not a straight path, and McConaughey doesn’t hold back, which makes him an inspiring role model for so many of us. Huge thanks for this incredible episode and the amazing set-it sets a fantastic tone and makes the message hit even harder.

There are a lot of podcasts out there nowadays, but I must say, Chris really stands out in terms of quality when it comes to the way he moderates these conversations. Sound and video are obviously pristine as well - but it's the ability of the host to listen, find a great balance between prepared topics and off-the-cuff questions related to what was just said, and try to extract the essence of what a guest is saying without attempting to twist their words, that make this podcast a real treat.
Man talked to Carl Sagan for 3.5 hours and walked away going "God's backyard is a whole lot bigger than I thought it was!" 🤣🤣❤️ What a unique dude. This was such a lighthearted and authentic episode where they delve into really beautiful and deep topics. Nicely done Chris and Team! 🎉🫡

Not an interview, just a deep dive conversation with Matthew. Respect for your ability to let someone just talk on a prompt.
One of the best actors to ever bless us with legit entertainment. I to this day vividly remember Matthew McConaughey jumping off a cliff, screaming defiantly, axe in hand, right into a dragon's face.

It's amazing how Matthew manages to record an episode with Tom and Bort Chrysler in the morning, and then another with Chris in the afternoon. All he needs is a quick outfit change in between. Work ethic.
One of the people in Hollywood I actually respect as human being and am eager to listen to when talking. His book is awesome too. His growth as an actor is very admirable - from the easygoing romcoms and being the “good looking guy” to some astonishing and deep roles. The man is legit.

Chris, I am at 45:48, and I've listened to a lot of your podcasts over the years, and I need to point out this observation. As much as we all appreciate learning about your background as a young entrepreneur running the night clubs, doing your thing as a model, doing the reality TV, all the things that made you who were when you started the podcast, there is so much about who you are now after actually doing the podcast that we all at this point would rather hear about. To come up with an example for the blood you like to put into your work, and use your night club running as the example is off base my man. Reflect on all that you have accomplished since then, that we have been witnessing, and give us the insight on that man! I mean my god, there are 3 million people cheering you on, at this moment, with each episode that comes out. You're the lead roll in our favorite film. We don't know where it's going, but this the man we're interested in, the one that is doing his thing at this very moment, the one who's in the game we are currently watching. Rant over. Thank you for all that you do, be well.
“Wait for your partner! You may be cruising on up ahead, but don’t forget that you are a team. Help them catch up!”❤ Matthew is far beyond a great man… he is a good human soul🙏🏻
I feel the most authentic authors usually do so, I don't mean the best or award winning ones, just genuine, the ones that come across as almost the same person in the movies and their real life, it's like they're not even acting at all.
I think the first time I saw McConaughey speak (apart from his movies) was when i saw a clip of his my hero is me in 10 years speech. Since then I’ve became a big fan of his. He has a great way of looking at life
This last weekend I watched Interstellar again and MM’s performance is amazing. I then listened to Greenlights and could not recommend it enough. What a guy!! A talent, a legend and a gentleman. No pun intended.
I LOVED this episode/pod. Matthew is gifted with such a deep level of profound and meaningful wisdom... And he expresses it as only he could. A born leader and true role model.
The snake oil hair loss brand that he endorses, Regenix, is a pretty bad look for him IMO. He claims using this product helped him grow back his hair when the ingredients are total BS. I was born a femmine boy in 1974. I let fear destroy my life. I had no idea what faith was. 35 years extreme suffering. Finally, The Jack Danial's fried my kidneys. I lay on the floor of my New Orleans apartment half dead. At one point I was looking down at my body wondering who is this poor slub . That was all I needed. I started meditation and breath work. I am now connected to my higher power. I have no fear. I learned to love myself, that allows me to unconditionally love others. This has made me realize there are so many people that grew up under boomer parents or a part of society that uses shame to control you not realizing how bad they are hurting others. We are here to love. If you live your life with playfulness and curiosity of a 5 years old. Having faith that you never die. I understand why I had to suffer for so long to be reborn. I have so much gratitude for everyday. Remember: If everyone in the room are assholes .....you are the asshole lol love Matthew McConaughey so much. You can see the love beeming out of him. What a beautiful soul
It's nice to hear the actual Mathew in a "in the moment" conversation. The audiobook was great, but these kinds of wandering conversations bring the best out of people. This podcast is definitely out there with Joe Rogan and Lex Friedman.
You have had a wild ride that has been wonderful to watch. Congratulations on the levels you’ve reached and here’s to the levels you’ll surely unlock in the future. Thank you for the stimulating content.
Being doubted by others is a matter of personal tolerance, which can be built up. Self-doubt is a malign tumor and needs to be cut out as soon as detected.
Chris. dude. First of all i have to point out how healthy and strong youre looking brother. this episode is beautiful and an absolute namesake of your podcast. your wisdom is slowing growing in like a great oak. I look forward to growing old alongside you.
I love the part when you talk about the uks culture and attitude around success, ever since I’ve come back I’ve always noticed it but never been able to put my finger on it but you explained it perfectly
I see a resemblance between Mr.McConaughey & Mr.Charles Bukowski a lot They both say""Don't try if you can't do it all the way" it feels great to live in a world where humans are alive. Thanks Mr. Williamson We love you
I like the talk about not chasing money. I just graduated 4 months ago, not a single job interview. I have been looking into simply starting a new education. But im really feeling the sunk cost fallacy and the fear of losing out on the money i could earn on my current job description, compared to the one im considering doing instead.
4 months is barely any time. You spent all this time and money to educated, and you’re giving up after FOUR MONTHS? Stick with it. Don’t drop something and abandon it as soon as the going gets tough. A new venture will not fix this
I was lucky enough to meet Matthew via a charity raffle drawing 1st place prize. The stage in which I met this amazing man, as well as his equally incredible and lovely family, was in his suite at Darrell K Royal Memorial stadium to watch the Texas Longhorns (also my alma) win a 2OT thriller versus a really good Notre Dame team to open the 2016 college football season. I found Matthew to be one of the most well-rounded, genuine and coolest people I've ever met, or likely ever will... I don't say THE top of that coolest, etc. because my dad will always occupy that spot for me.... he'd be next on that list for me, however.
I heard that The Knights Templar said that Success is simply being BORN. I think so too. The rest is what we make up to hold it all together. I liked Matthew's Palmer Joss, in Contact, that was my favorite film as I have always been Ellie Arroway! :) Blessings to you both. This conversation was dynamic. I have subscribed to the channel. I think Chris has already interviewed one of my favorite speakers, Iain McGilchrist (Dr) and so it's a great channel to connect to - to learn from the Best.

Reat episode. Matthew is one of the few Hollywood celebs who isn't completely detached from reality and what's importanf.
Having any kind of conversation with mcconaughey is a blessing! Great personal all around could imagine in person!
Remember: If everyone in the room are assholes .....you are the asshole lol
love Matthew McConaughey so much. You can see the love beeming out of him. What a beautiful soul
When I'm suffering I say to myself one day you won't be able to do this and you will wish you could and it helps me focus on what is important
It's nice to hear the actual Mathew in a "in the moment" conversation. The audiobook was great, but these kinds of wandering conversations bring the best out of people. This podcast is definitely out there with Joe Rogan and Lex Friedman.
Chris is an exceptional LISTENER, and McConaughey is a great story teller. Great work gentleman🤝
What an incredible chat. It's amazing to see the love he has for his family, specially the credit he gives to Camila. ❤
You have had a wild ride that has been wonderful to watch. Congratulations on the levels you’ve reached and here’s to the levels you’ll surely unlock in the future. Thank you for the stimulating content.
Beautiful! He respected your conviction, what a great dad!thx.
Being doubted by others is a matter of personal tolerance, which can be built up.
Self-doubt is a malign tumor and needs to be cut out as soon as detected.
This episode was pure gold, definitely will be listening to this one many times!
loved the pan from chris to matthew at 22:35. That felt like the cinematic that you have been striving for!
I'm happy this caught someone's eye, Chris is cooking with his team
The barn renovation fit the mood and looked great. I love the effort you and your team continually put in to visuals and aesthetics. Keep it up :)
Chris.
Matthew McConaughey is a national treasure
I see a resemblance between Mr.McConaughey & Mr.Charles Bukowski a lot
They both say""Don't try if you can't do it all the way"
it feels great to live in a world where humans are alive.
Thanks Mr. Williamson
We love you
His audio book is fantastic. Love this dude.
A new venture will not fix this
When he describes the English dinner, the way he tells it, the way he changes his accent, pure theater.
His story telling is so good that I forgot where I was til Chris spoke
Thank you for recommending this UA-cam, really needed it.
I don’t normally comment but I love how you allow him time to tell his story!
A big fan of Mat and you both!
A wonderful conversation with great balance between interviewer and guest. Great execution of a free flowing chat - thank you
Unbelievable episode. I use you BOTH as a means of modelling behaviour day to day, great to see you two together.
I just started listening, but I have to say, MM would also have made an amazing attorney :)
Love when he tells about his iconic first line from that movie “alrigh alrigh alrigh”
I like how he uses conscious decisions on what tool to use at what time to navigate life.
One of the best outfielders in baseball movie history!
Haha nice!
If i could describe my mind to anyone, I'd point to this man 🤣🤣
Greenlights is one of my favourite books and genuinely changed my attitude on a lot of things
Damn that camera pan at 37:12 caught me off guard, upping the cinematography to match the guest!
The key is, start thinking and start learning and do it!
LEARN LEARN LEARN SO WE CAN EARN EARN EARN!
Chris i have to say, i was glued to the chair for this one. Instellar work!!
Alright, alright, alright! Been waiting for this episode to be uploaded
I could listen to him talk all day long
Chris. By far the best episode to date, no lie. You’ve pushed the bar higher once again 🙌
