We Italians are a hotpot of different ethnicities, with mostly Hellenic and Italic ancestry, but very little Caucasian outside of Tyrol. Personally I hate putting people in shelfs, family trees are complex (more so in Italy with our history) and the dialog tends to end in a racist debacle most of the time... If I had to however, I would call us mediterran folks - still white of course, at least mostly, but ethnically not Caucasian. Culturally Latin would probably the most fitting term.
Also his mom, which she heavily advertised as potentially date able then shamed everyone for thirsting over her. And of course she had to make Keaton as disgusting as possible to dissuade people from liking him

Ironically enough, she later said that they ended up hiring some white people to help finish their indie game. Still, she seemed very happy about her purposeful choice to exclude white people at the time of the interview.
I love the fact that superficial, hypocritical, disgusting people are the ones who think they can "teach" people about inclusivity.
One of the most amazing things in this situation is how a person saying things like that can be hired on keyroles in big companies. It's almost like saying to society: "hey, it's ok to discriminate against whites". Because this kind of talk on ANY OTHER group would purge a person from any industry forever.

Look at the state of gaming 20 years ago compared to now. What the hell is going on? Seriously, when did we get so hyper focused on race and segregation toward another race rather than, I don't know, JUST MAKE THE DAMN GAMES! I miss the old days where the message isn't just hammered in your face but rather address it more subtle.

When gamers pushed back against the messaging (because these activists didn't actually know anything about the gaming community) it led to an entire culture war that's still going on. Some activists were just gritting for money and some were true believers for the cause, but all of them are dumb.

Validate has an Alltime peak of 80 players over the last 2 years. With an average of 2-4 players "recently". Frit was the Only player active this week.
Huniepop 1 and 2 each have an alltime playerbase over 15.5k over the past 3 years
And has around a few hundred to 1k active players recently
Just let that sink in.
Reminder. Huniepop 1 and 2 Is Each. Together they have over 30k total alltime and over 1.7k+ active

I do seriously wonder if a dev of Asian or European descent said the same words about how they made the recruitment choice to only hire people of a certain race to create a safe environment, just how fast they would lose their job? Quickly followed by lawsuits for illegal hiring practices.

Germany had a phase, about 2 yrs or so, until they completly dropped it altogether.
While the goal was to enforce diversity at about 50+ ppl in a company it just ended with companys hiring women & ppl with disabilities left and right with no regards wether or not they were actually fit for the job.
This lead to an mass layoff from these ppl.
And comanys couldn't just lay them off them off themselves, due to their quota.

The upside to these types collapsing mainstream movie and gaming is it makes room for indie developers and indie movie makers sending us back how it was sink or swim good products succed bad ones fails. Hell the only games i genuinely enjoy now are either indie devs or devs from Japan and starting happen for me with movies as well Godzilla Minus one was worth the money i spent.

After going through what I did as a white boy in New Orleans public schools I have to laugh at black Americans saying they don't feel safe around whites. (You wouldn't believe how bad it was if I told you. It almost seems impossible to me it was so horrific, and I went through it.)

Microaggression to me also feels like it lacks a true definition. I can understand someone being aggressive or hostile towards you but whenever I hear someone talk about microaggressions. It's always hugely context sensitive. Like had the guy lost a family member recently? Did the person do something to make them not like the person. Like it's not always because of prejudice due to your skin-tone but any other number of reasons. People are allowed to like or not like you. Hell maybe they're being lazy on the job and the other guy isn't having it anymore. I don't know to me it feels like to some people that anything could be considered a microaggression. Doesn't matter what you try, they just assume the worst while you're tiptoeing around them.

As a WarCraft gamer, I can say that the WoW Community is largely toxic. I mean if you look at how toxic the gamers themselves are, you'd see.
Per example, if you role as a priest and you try and heal people, you're expected to not screw up or else people will get furious at you. The Guilds also expect you to manage your DPS.

I stopped playing after Cata but I fondly remember that back then people couldn't afford to be dickheads since you'd single them out as a community and they were Fked since you couldn't play alone unless you were very knowledgeable/talented at the game.
After a certain Devil acquired Blizzard and changed things around it allowed for said dickheads to do what they want since you don't need a guild to raid anymore so the old tactics didn't work. Acti-Blizz couldn't care less about how people behaved as long as the $$$ was coming and now we're here.
+ the moment gaming became mainstream it opened the floodgates for all the "Chads" and "Cheerleaders" of the world who didn't care about the hobby enough to behave in a decent manner and now we're here.

My biggest problem with this kind of people is the blatant hypocrisy. If she simply said that she wants people who look like her on her team, I would find it weird but whatever. I've played many multiplayer shooters games and Mmorpgs. I use to regularly play LEFT 4 dead 2 with A group of Japanese guys even though Non of us speaks the same language we still have good teamwork and had A good time. Thats Gaming unity.

A game where there isn’t much thought other than fun combat.
However the deeper meaning of the game is the dark realities of war and conflict.
Even though it’s not the main focus. It tells it in a subtle way in which the game gets you immersed into its world
Reason I give this example is that it doesn’t feel like the writer is trying to push a narrative down your throat. Instead it feels like it’s a part of the world and what’s around it.
Today I cut out a toxic multiplayer game from my life despite 3000+ hours. Addiction is not worth dealing with constant frustration and stress. I'll focus more on singleplayer games from now on.

Honestly, all of the DEI stuff, while it may have started from a good place, has gone so far off the rails that now when i see a darker skinned person i instinctively clam up a bit because i'm worried about commiting some 'microaggression' or other. And i myself am a minority. It's quite sad, i see race and ethnicity more now that I did as a child. It's like what Morgan Freeman said, we need to stop talking about it all the time. (Not conpletely, there's definitely things that still need to be discussed, just not every other sentence please, and especially in places and conversation it really has no place being brought up)

I HIGHLY recommend playing the game Live a Live (on Nintendo Switch) because its message of “with enough hatred (especially via being demonized enough), anyone can become a proverbial demon”. The villain Odio is extremely relevant to the topic you’re discussing. The big twist in the 8th story arc alone is worth the price of ticket admission. Even today, that plot twist is still impressive (the game is a remake of a 1994 game that never left Japan). If these DEI people aren’t put in check, I fear it won’t be long before an Odio figure is made and out for full scale revenge….and no one wins in the end.
This is a relatively recent development in gaming. This DEI crowd started their infiltration of the gaming industry sometime around 2014. Video games and anime/manga have basically become the last stand of sanity in the entertainment industry because these people have fully conquered everything else.
The reason the DEI crowd refuses to hold others who think like themselves accountable is two fold.
1. They legitimately believe that you can’t be racist against white people because in their minds only white people can be racist. One of the central tenets of the DEI crowd’s belief system is that white people are the cause of all the world’s problems and must be persecuted everywhere they go and driven out of everything they do and love.
2. The politics of the DEI crowd can best be described as authoritarian left (example authoritarian left government type: communism). “Conform or we’ll go after you too as a traitor to the cause”.
The DEI crowd doesn’t just hate white people. They hate asians almost as much, but basically use them as discardable tools in their agenda.

Thank you for speaking out. Been a part of the Read Dead Redemption 2 Online community for about 3 years. It's a great place with all kinds of people and players. And it's maybe a blessing that R* abandoned the game, for it's up to all of us to fill it with live. And I'm glad that we're safe from hideous people trying to corrupt the game because of that.
