We lost the best man ever. Thanks Lee iacoca for saving Chrysler. Smart man down to earth and ready to kick ass! What a true American. You will be missed god bless you.
You all probably dont care but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the password. I would love any help you can offer me
I remember when Lee ran Chrysler and he made ads where he said "In the car business you lead, follow or get out of the way." I always wanted to ask him to define "Dodge"
I'm from Phil. I don't have a car, never had. When i read a condesed version of Mr. Iacocca's biography years ago I become an admirer from afar. Right now I am reading again his autobiography and I am still so in awe of his brilliance. His my idol.
I'm from India and my cousin passed me Lee Iacocca's autobiography, which had been given to him by his dad who bought it back in the 80s. I must say I've never been so gripped reading a business memoir as I'd been reading about this legendary CEO of the Chrysler Corp. That one book showed me how exciting the inner dynamics of a major corporation is and the business world in general. To turn around a company from its catastrophic position, facing all those obstacles! Wow! What a MAN!
Mr Iacocca, is by far my best CEO even if i only got to work around him when he was in his last two years at Chrysler corp, when he talks people listen to what he has to say. He does not waste his time talking for nothing. I really enjoyed his new book. Someone like him is what all the big three needs. He came out with the mustang while he was at Ford, the funky, but stone cold reliable K cars, the minivan, and my favorite, the Viper! And there was a lot more i can not think of!
What motivated him was seeing Henry Ford II eat crow for firing him. They made some nice cars during his era. The Omni & Horizon were good economy cars, worst thing he did was the 1989 Imperial which was nothing but a K car on steriods.
It would have been nice if someone had ever thought of getting him into the Cabinet or even the President. The man has "b....'s" and you know?, that is what this country is made of. I wish more had known him and of him; but they did not! The history of Chrysler is written in the lives of the families that always wanted to buy "Chrysler" because it is "the best".
You guys do realize that Iacocca was president of ford in 1970 and he was told about the pinto problem and signed off on ignoring it. He's a good salesman he's not very moral
No Way!!! Chrysler group is doing better than GM right now and has matched Toyota for production time and quality, kia and hyundai have no chance of owning chrysler
How is president Obama helping the big three when we trade in trucks minivans and suv's on the cash for clunkers deal for a import because people have the perception that only Japan or Keorea can build efficent vechiles when in fact both Ford and Gm do have efficent vehicles as well? That is the problem Chrysler has they don't have any small cars right now and that is there managment mistake.

A truly great American and national treasure!

@Musa Alonso Instablaster :)
Mr. Iococca, as always, has his head in the right direction and has a crystal clear vision of what needs to be done.
I remember when Lee ran Chrysler and he made ads where he said "In the car business you lead, follow or get out of the way." I always wanted to ask him to define "Dodge"
my god this man was a genius , why dont we put him back into chrysler? and run the country at the same time , i could see great results from it
I worked for Chrysler during the Lee days, and I was always grateful to that man, for his "get it done" attitude.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and for your comments.

Mr. Iacocco's quote at 4:30, Priceless!

This was on June 26th 2008, wish it was the full footage
A lot of companies run on 'crisis management'.

I'm from Italy, I also read his book and I think exactly as you write. 110% agree
Love to have worked for this guy in the 60's

I agree come back to Auburn Hills Lee.
Come back to Michigan, Lee. Chrysler is dying and it needs you.
i'll always remember him as the guy who never read a book in his life

He would have made a GREAT president. Read his great new book..."Where Have All The Leaders Gone?"

Or you could read one of his books....
You guys do realize that Iacocca was president of ford in 1970 and he was told about the pinto problem and signed off on ignoring it. He's a good salesman he's not very moral
The Father of the K-car
And they put lebaron 1 up instead of aries/reliant..
Are you sure you aren't one of them with such grammar skills?
No Way!!! Chrysler group is doing better than GM right now and has matched Toyota for production time and quality, kia and hyundai have no chance of owning chrysler
Fiat on the other hand.....
But Detroit is in serious crap now
