I would love just a simple "basics" video for MPVI 2/3 since the thing doesn't have any sort of user's manual. It would be nice to know what each color status light means and somewhere that lets you know "hey if you don't Stop Scanning and Disconnect Vehicle in VCM Scanner, the MPVI won't connect the next time you try to use it and you'll have to unplug it and restart the program".

When I first got started with tuning with HPT, I was having the same problem - a bit overwhelming with no real direction, and the only real consequence would be a torched motor or smoke-checked trans. Awesome. I paid a few bucks and did both the online video training and the books with ‘The Tuning School’. Worth it. Wasn’t cheap, but less than the $$$ I just put into the eng/trans in my first swap. Some good vids on UA-cam that actually make sense of a given topic. Sloppy Mechanic is one of my fav’s. Oh… and HPT forum has a LOT of very good info folks have posted up once you get searching. Good luck.
At 4:03 you mention the first thing to do is scan - don't you have to load the credit on to the MPVI3 first and then scan? or can you scan without a credit?
So I was looking at that data logging. I think it called standalone. So I had logging connected and turned on and then I saved the log file. Then when I open the log file disconnected. I don't see all the pids. I also don't see any options for loading up a channel config, thoughts
My car was previously tuned with a diablo tuner but I do not have the tuner. Can I use a hp tuner even though it has already been tuned with Diablo? Is it going to change my tune that I already have?
First thing I did was delete the chart vs time and the graph views when I was switching between chart vs time, graph and gauges. This seems waaay tooo easy to do because it so easy to click on the x when switching views. I finally added the chart vs time and the graph back using the layout tab up top, but now they are all three on the screen! How do I return the display back to its orginal view that used three tabs to display the three views? I don't want all three on my screen at once! It seems like a really stupid idea to put a X in the tabs on the display screen, especially considering how hard it is return the display to the default view
Just go the layout tab up top and pick what you want. Select it and it should pop up. Then you can set up and save how u like 👍 you have channels on the left, graphs, charts, and gauges.

Ive Been Looking All Over The Internet For A Scanner That Can Read And Write For My 2004 Ford F150 XLT 5.4 The Cam Phaser sensors are the problem so I Been Looking For A Lockout Tune So I Remove The Function Entirely. I Mean I Even Though Of Splicing Cords Everything Soo I Dont Have To Buy A New Scanner For This Purpose As I Dont Have 400 - 500$ To Spend On A Scanner With That Being Said Hp Tuners Seems To Have The Best Bang For You're Buck if you where to buy a new scanner as i have had NO luck of finding any other way to accomplish my goals under a couple hundred $ But OIf I Am To Spend 400 and up I want it to do literally everything and I Believe Hp Tuners Accomplishes This Task Pretty Well! Cause Sadly I Do Not Think There Is A OBD2 to USB Cord Out There!

I have watched a bunch of videos, read all I can.....But, NOBODY explains HOW to download the cars PCM data!!! This came close, (and I noticed its the most watched part of the video, so its not just me), but he then flips to a screen, different from the one he was on, that I have NO idea how to get to!!!!!! He explains, in painful detail, what every button does, EXCEPT exactly HOW to do the most important thing..... DOWNLOAD your cars pcm!! Thanks to this, I do now know it will take about 20 min.... And about a week to learn HOW it's done!! Without that, all the buttons are worthless!!! WTF!!!!! 🤡. What you need to do is have a video starting from square one with a laptop and the plug-in scanner. Take you through in the simplest way downloading the vehicles data, making some small change like turning off traction control or something then upload to the vehicle once we know how to do that, then we can get into whatever every single function of every button does!!!!
Going through this right now. Just started trying to use HP tuners today and after a few hours I just gave up. Seems impossible to find any information on how to do it.

So if the channel is not added to the layout say for MAF period your customer graph for maf/period vs afr error percentage won’t read

For some reason when I scan for DTCs it says incomplete on everything except misfire. Misfire shows complete. Is there any thing I can do to fix this?

I think you can just unplug them. Don't think the code will effect you can't remember but I think u can.
But can you read both cams to see what they are doing individually?

That's because this is a VCM Scanner how to, not VCM Editor. Editor is where you pull the data and modify the tune.
