    You could hear it in Dans voice at the end that he really cares about Artie. Everyone loves Artie. Great guy.

      The re-runs are the best part at this point. Though they’ve even whitewashed those at this point, they picked and chose about 100 clips where Howard is on pretty good behavior and play those over and over.

    I always hated how Artie continued to praise Stern and Stern never reciprocated it ever!!!! And artie was by far the best part if that. Stopped listening day Artie left

    Dan Patrick, the guy who does Jack(in the Jack in the Box commercials) and James Earl Jones have the greatest voices!!

      Dan Patrick is not the voice of Jack. Its a guy names Dick Sittig.

    I could picture Artie
    ( after a night of booze 'n drugs) on a bicycle, throwing newspapers before the sun comes up.

    Howard's pretty ungrateful for all Artie did for that show he couldn't have him back on to help him promote his book. And that line about Howard caring about Artie is BS since all they ever did was make jokes about him on heroin and look the other way while using it for entertainment purposes.

    • @78bcat
      @78bcat 10 років тому +1

      Yeah...I don't think I've ever read anything more off base. The Stern show has always been about honesty and reality...and goofing on everything. Howard does feel guilty that he didn't see how this dynamic negatively impacted Artie on a dramatic level and how he missed every sign that Artie was in real trouble and he doesn't want to ever put Artie in that position again.
      You, like me, selfishly want Artie back...even if just for a visit, but I get why Howard doesn't believe it's in Artie's best interest, especially since his return would be all a postmortem on Artie's 8 1/2 years.

    • @albycoppola737
      @albycoppola737 7 років тому +1

      You sound so stupid!!...what "sign"did Howard claim he missed?His prior addiction to cocaine that got him thrown of Mad TV and into rehab,or Artie nodding off on air constantly,or Artie admitting he was on heroin in 2006 and having to miss a week a year prior because he was detoxing,or missing the Saget roast in 2008 because he relapsed and went to detox,or attacking his assistant in a drug fueled rage..how about when Artie's family asked Howard to join them in an intervention in 2009(That he declined)that lead to Artie going to rehab in West Palm which he left to go to Nobo and stay at the Sati Hotel in Miami which he left early, or his 2008 Conan appearance where he was blasted on nationol TV.. and the Joe Buck show fiasco.Not showing up for work,leaving the studio for an hour at a time to go score.Artie busted for DUI in 2009...I can go on for days ..Are those not enough signs??Howard is a very smart guy and he knew Artie was good for Sirius ans especially Howard TV so he looked the other way..i'm not buying "I din't see the signs" Bullshit

      Howard used Artie, exploited his problems. His show is more important to him than the people on it.

      Alby Coppola You people just don’t understand addiction. The only thing Howard could’ve done is what he did, cut him off the show. I’ve been a recovering addict for a long time so I’m not hating on Artie like most Stern “fans.” He’s my favorite part of the show ever and is what initially got me into Stern. The only other things Howard could’ve done are A. send him to rehab and B. drug test him and kick him off if he failed. Artie went to rehab on his own multiple times and left immediately every time so that wouldn’t have done shit and he was being drug tested for court a lot of the time anyway. There’s nothing you can do for an addict of that level except cut them off when it gets too bad. Yes they joked about it but Howard is clueless about drugs and took his word for it and once again, the only other thing he could’ve done is what he did - kick him off the show.
      And everyone goes on and on about “oh Howard could at least have him in and make up blah blah blah” but Artie is never sober for more than two weeks and they don’t want to perpetuate his addiction even more. Artie is looking the best ever now so hopefully it lasts and maybe if it does they can make up. But it’s not Howard’s job to force Artie to do something that he never ever would’ve done. Not to be rude but you guys don’t know what you’re talking about.

      DREVM yeah these people don’t understand what addiction is. And being an ex addict to dope myself I can relate.

    +13:00 This applies SO perfectly to Howard Stern. Comics used to say he was basically a comic just on the radio instead of in clubs. He’s no longer the guy making fun of the Academy, he’s the guy sucking up to it and vacationing with it, which is why he’s no longer very funny. I still like the show some but he’s not funny like he used to be.

    This is funny !!Fast forward 3 years and Artie doesn't have one nice thing to say about Howard..He talks about this time with Gary rejected him from coming on the show plus Sirus turning down add dollars to promote the book on those channels with such hate and anger now its amazing!And i'm calling Bullshit about Artie telling his mother"I don't care about lawyers if you don't want me to put the book out I wont"...BULLSHIT..Artie said several times that he spent $200,000 from his $800,000 advance..so he had 3 options get sued,pay back the $200K or write the book and we see what decision he made...and i'm glad he did because it was a great book !

    +10:00 There’s no edge to 90% of comedians anymore. It used to be a prerequisite that you were fucked up in SOME way but now in the era of all things being whitewashed and cookie cutter almost none are. Go watch Netflix specials, 9/10 of them are utter crap.
    This is all you need to know: That special by some woman named Hannah Gadsby called Nanette was hailed as great by a lot of the “comedy” community, nothing else to say. That shit was the definition of anti comedy.
