Man looking at 4449 decorated like that. Union Pacific should definitely try decorating 4014 and 844 like that.. maybe even try to run a holiday special their own.
Bro 4449 already looks beautiful and now that she's wrapped in Christmas lights oh my gosh I think American daylight 4449 she looks beautiful now the Christmas train 4449 1941 2021
Great Video of Southern Pacific 4449. It is another beautiful steam locomotive. It is a amazing GS-4 class 4-8-4 “Northern” locomotive that was built by Lima Locomotive Works in 1941. I would like to go back to Oregon and visit this locomotive.
Great video! It's too bad her mainline excursions have been curtailed. At least she's still running in this capacity! Hopefully the diesel-bound PTC mechanisms put into use on UP 4014 give promise to the mainline excursion careers of 4449 and other steam locomotives.
So far the other locomotives to obtain that equipment piece are 3751 and 2926 from the Santa Fe thanks for their owners. And I have no doubt Doyle wants to get that one piece for the daylight before he retires. The only thing that made it easy for 4014 is because she’s owned by Union Pacific once again now so they needed to get it for her to continue the full operations for the steam program.
Went to ORM a few years back one staff member came up to me and asked me if I wanted a private tour of all of there passenger cars they have on site it was really amazing
Seeing 4449 confined to running back and forth at low speed gives me the same conflicted feeling as going to the zoo. Beautiful to see but sad to know that they are aren’t in their natural elements.
@@cabcar82 let me guess the Oregon Pacific railroad won't allow them to run on their line so they just run back and forth I feel like they should do this on the Portland and western railroad.
Oregon Pacific is kind enough to let them run here and since they need to do alot of excursions that's the best they can do. That and it's not that busy of a railroad compared to Portland and Western which is moving freight on a daily basis. Lastly the heritage center is nearby making for it so they don't need trackage rights to go on other railroads.
Southern Pacific 4449 is my favorite train
great awesome video and catches of its holiday express runs
Thanks cabcar

It is many years gone to hear the puff ouff sound.
What whistle does she wear now?

3:08 is that a coach or is that a locomotive
It's a coach they just have a small air horn and reversing lights for safety when shoving backwards
I see
I have a question why does the holiday express go to oaks park and then backs up?
Because they can't go any further so they go backwards and then forwards.
