I just subscribed. You are doing a great thing here! If I could offer one suggestion it would be to consider waiting until the end of your video to tell people to like and subscribe. Most men don't like to start out by having someone tell us what to do especially when it comes to liking something before we sample it.

I am finally starting to find peace with stoicism. I was so tired of being high strung and mad constantly. It was going to literally kill me from the stress. Now life is so much more meaningful, manageable and less meticulous. Seneca, Marcus araleus, Epictetus
These Ancient men showed us the way so long ago.

This is the most encouraging and enlightening information I've heard in a long time. I wish somebody would have recommended this to me during hard times of my life. This short little video contains more wisdom than any sermon or lecture that I've heard from anyone. Every counselor, teacher, psychologist, marriage counselor, ect should pass this information to their clients.

These read as pure, simple imperatives that should guide our lives but make no mistake about it, they are tough. They are tough to read, tough to analyze, and especially tough to follow. I have been studying stoicism (purely amateur) for about two years now and am only now beginning to rein in my reactionary emotions, and I have a long, long, way to go. I do like to quote or paraphrase Dr. Phil though. I like his "Don't worry about what other people think of you because mostly, they don't. And, of the ones who do think about you, they don't do it very often."

Here is a quote from the late Joseph Campbell that is food for thought and reminds us all that the bumps in the road shouldn't rule our lives.
Furthermore, we have not even to risk the adventure alone; for the heroes of all time have gone before us; the labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero-path. And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god; where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.

I've seen many inspirational videos that haven't clicked with me well. But this video, this one in particular speaks to me in a constructively genuine way that has a serious bearing on reality. Everything you said about this video is so correct and its helping me reflect on the mistakes I've made. I've lived a very angry life full of resentment for the world. Thankfully im only 27 and can change things today. You helped me gain a new perspective on life without feeling angry and resentful. My life has been hell for the past year since my friends disowned me when i stood up for myself. But have no pity, as i believe this is destiny now. I needed this video. I'll repetitively play this video in my headphones if i have to.

Just thinking the same thing! Especially regarding family in my case. I was never able to help my daughters addiction and ultimately watch my beautiful grandchildren suffer as they still do in so many ways! It is important to care, but as you stated- BE SELECTIVE! I tried for years now to help, but it was killing me. I have now , for my own mental/physical health, walk away. I'm on my way to healing, I think, but how to forget your own GC, knowing what I heard, witnessed, dont think I will EVER forget! I try to remain hopeful and pray!

"Western" Stoicism and "Eastern" Taoism have much in common, especially "Be here now" and "Work with nature and natural forces, not against them, and not just to your own advantage."
There is no singular advantage to be had in life, only to appreciate and exercise while we live our natural gifts of balance, clarity, commitment, compassion, and contentment.

2:25 Accepting that life is not perfect? I am 13 of the last 15 homeless living on the street. My family and friends deserted me 8 years ago (my Grandma and told me of this 45 years before hand. Concluding with, But don't you let them bother you; they're all just jealous of you!!! The Lord God prophesized this in His Word also. Though I am a king, Hallowed has given me the pathway of a King every single moment!!!
Now I must ask you, is this life not perfect in whatever way it happens until He makes His first return, taking me by my hand!!!!!

    1. Focus on what you can control.
    2. Accept that life isn’t perfect.
    3. Practice mindfulness / stay in the present.
    4. Perspective is everything. Watch your judgment of things.
    5. Let go of entitlements / rigid preferences.
    6. Accept change. Nothing in life stays the same.
    7. Judge judiciously. Pause….
    Examine your motives.
    8. Forgive others. The best revenge is to not be like your enemy.
    9. Laugh often. Humor turns down volume of adversity.
    10. Focus inward. Don’t look at what should be - be it. Self development.
    11. Live simply. Avoid excess. What void are you trying to fill?
    12. Be humble. All is opinion and opinions are not true.
    13. Silence is golden. Pause before giving wings to words that are harmful.
