In Estonian DF, our conscript salary was 80 eur/month in first 3 months, after that it was 100 eur. Conscripts, who wanted to become NCO or car driver, were called in June or January and their service was 11 months. Other conscripts serve here 8 months, they come usually into service at the end of September.

I'm 3rd generation pacifist. Finnish military and joining the NATO are important to keep the peace. Some of us pacifists are pragmatic pacifists, and i do think that we are the majority: everyone wants peace but most people understand the reality.

For us, the slippers were basically inside shoes worn "whenever". When you had a longer break, we would just change to those for comfort.

Basic training in the us is similar. At least it was 10 years ago. We did running shoes the 1st 2 weeks marching. Horny 18 year olds 100% on point.

My Summer Car is funnier, by far.. Army is boring, summer cars are fun, that is just life.
