Really fascinating, and how good it is to see Andy's passion for new designs. I have an AD17e Blacktop, and AD27e and a GTe Urban Ash - they are all unique and SO difficult to put down. They get lots of praise at gigs for their sound, too. Thanks, Andy!

The AD27e Flametop is indeed a game changer for maple-based acoustic guitars. Sounds good for fingerpicking (especially for a dreadnought), sounds well-balanced when strummed, and has some decent headroom when slammed. So, it is actually quite versatile. The best thing about it tone-wise is that it is out of Taylor's "box". Less bright, more "old school".
Playability is good. Neck is a decent size and the eucalyptus fretboard feels great.
Finally, it looks cool. Great coloring on the burst and a bit of flame to complement the slope-shouldered body. Home run on this model and the first Taylor I am considering on purchasing.
