Good to see the orange Pfanner. Those blow downs can be very dangerous. We lost a lot of trees on our land in a November storm and the another storm in January. Stay safe Tim.
Watch your Kids around these trees. I was 15 helping my neighbor cut firewood . a huge red oak blew over and we were cutting it . When he cut the log off the stump the whole root ball rolled back in the hole. His little boy was in the hole playing with hot wheel cars. It took 2 hrs to dig him out and it was too late. He shot himself 2 months later. 48 years later and it still tears me up.
Such an insightful video. There are several tips that teach how to safely address storm downed trees. Your camera angles provide insight into how trees react to cuts that you would never see from just running the saw. I rewatched segments on each tree and saved this video for future reference. Thanks brother and be well.
Tim from what I learned from you I tackled a 14 inch diameter limb by 36 feet long from one of my trees that was storm damaged in June 2019 it was 1200 pounds in weight
Wow get job tim!! Also I never knew you could notch a tree that’s down like these and make it safer for you cutting the trees!! We get tree like this all the time at work and this is very helpful information for me to be safer to handle these kinds of trees!!
This tree was trying to grab that saw at every cut! You make it look easy. Where I live we have this species called Hau. The trunks are 6 to 8 inches maybe and cut real easy, but they grow in every which direction and can store a heck of a lot of energy enough to kill you with a snap back. Forces you to really plan ahead for each cut.
Falling limbs or trees can cause serious injury or even death to those in their path. It's important to exercise caution when removing storm-damaged trees, and to enlist the help of a professional if necessary. This video can serve as a reminder to always take safety precautions when working with trees and to respect their power and potential to cause harm.
When you cut that second one, I thought that was barded wire coming across that root ball. I thought if you fell backwards that was going to be something. Then you snapped them them so it was them saw tooth briars. Those things will eat you up also. Lol.
I agree! You have to watch your ass!!! I Love cutting wood, Great Job!!! Me personally love job's like that, if your in Western NC I'm more than ready to help! The bigger the tree is always better!!!!

Power lines, root balls, tangled trees, and trees under tension. Lord, be careful!

Thank you very ok letting you know about that and great work
No problem 👍
Sounds like a win win to me!!
You can’t lay a trunk down much softer than that! Nice work finessing that to the dirt.
Hey Tim good sound advise. $300.00 is cheeper than the medical deductable, if the kings horseman can put you back together. Stay safe my friend
always be careful buddy 🙏👍❤️❤️❤️
Great job but technical.

Thanks Tim! That first release cut you did, would you have tried a tongue and groove if you had any equipment there?

Hi was wondering if you are going to make lumber out of the tree it's a big tree you can get a big number of dimensional lumber.
Were you using an offset cut.
Howdy cotton

@@cotontop3 was good mate cheers 🤠👍💯
Just my opinion but the most dangerous tree is one that's already on the ground.
