So lads, It seems that you have discovered Humble Pie. Steve Marriott the lead singer and guitar player was in a band called Small Faces. Small Faces had a drummer named Kenny Jones, who was in The who after Keith died. They also had a keyboard player named Ian McLagan and bass player called Ronnie Lane, who played with Kenny Jones in a band called The Faces which featured a singer who had just left the Jeff Beck group called Rod Stewart and a guitar player named Ronnie Wood who plays currently in the Rolling Stones. Humble Pie also featured a guitar player named Peter Frampton who went on to be Peter Frampton. So I would suggest a song called Tin Soldier from Small Faces and the Paul McCartney song Maybe I'm Amazed by the faces as contenders to be listened to.

Stay With Me is a huge BANGER. There is also an album by Rod Stewart that I think you'd really like, Every Picture Tells A Story. It has some bangers and some folky stuff. Very charming assortment of songs that make for a great album listen. Have I steered you guys wrong yet?
'I Don't Need No Doctor' Huge bangers. Andy, easy A+ and the way you were reacting during the song, you were thinking A+ all along! A?....give me a break!
When Hard to Handle came out the first time I heard it I thought maybe Humble Pie got back together. I’m pretty sure Steve Marriott died in the fire like the next year . I told my late brother “well these guys are carrying the torch” and man did they for a while.
Gotta tell y'all. I'm in my 50's, and I can't seem to get tired of y'alls reactions to some of these songs. Warms this old bastards heart to see the younger generation getting a tast of the tunes I grew up with, rather than all this weak ass rap crap that's always being blasted today. Gives me hope for the future to know that there's still some yung-uns out there making sure the classics never die. Growing up in Detroit, close to the birthplace of Bob Seager, he's always been one of my favorites. I hope you guys haven't heard this one before, because I'd love to see what you think of one of his classic... If you haven't done it yet, take a listen to Bob Seager doing "Come To Papa". Give your ears a treat, you won't regret it. As for Humble Pie's "30 Days..." Outstanding. I make sure that one is played at every party I have. 10 out of 10 for style guys. Keep up the stellar work!
My dad played Humble Pie on the 8 track in the car all the time. Stevie Marriott's voice is something special. Highly recommend Rockin the Filmore. Glad you loved it.
Wow!!! It's so cool to hear you do this Humble Pie song. I had the extreme experience of seeing Humble Pie live in Fresno, Ca back in 1975. It was my very first concert. I was 21 years old and I have to tell you it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. It was something I will never forget. I'm now 66 years old and I remember it like it was yesterday. I totally agree with your A+ rating. One of the best songs by Humble Pie. I Don't Need No Doctor would be my second choice of favorite song.
Love me a slice of some Humble Pie! Don't agree with your rating. It's an S tier for me. Steve Marriott was one of the best blues and rock vocalists out there, and a great guitarist. He also played the harmonica. Add Peter Frampton, Clem Clemsen, and Jerry Shirley and you have such an awesome band. Totally fantastic live. I recommend giving a listen to their " Rockin at the Fillmore Live." Thanks for your (funny) comments and reactions. Cheers.🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥🎤
Pat Travers Band gets no love. "Stevie", "Gettin Betta", "Crash And Burn" and his covers of "Born Under A Bad Sign" and "Boom Boom Out Go The Lights" are my favorite versions of those blues standards.
@@maceomaceo11 agreed , no love for the P.T.B. Have you heard their version of the Cream classic “ Sunshine of your Love” ???? It has Buck Dharma of Blue Oyster Cult performing it with him. IN-FREEKIN-CREDIBLE!
Yeah, but it has been a very long time since I've heard it. Travers is a Guitar Hero's guitar hero. And his band member Pat Thrall is a major major player in production, he's the one that brought Pro Tools into producing in the mid 90's. The entire P.T.B. are major players, Mars Cowling is very well respected in the bass player community and Nico McBrain and Tommy Aldridge got their first big break playing drums for him. P.T.B. had a nice little run for a couple of years, but have nearly been completely forgotten.

Humble Pie actually got pretty darned big back in the day. Their live album is considered to be one of the best live LP's ever recorded. Steve Marriott from The Small Faces is the lead singer. This reminds me of driving from Long Island to Ft Lauderdale, spring break ,late 70's. We listened to Humble Pie Smokin' so many times on that trip!
Second that vote for "I Don't Need No Doctor" from the Live At The Fillmore album!
Told you so!
Humble Pie...LIve at the Fillmore... "I Don't Need No Doctor"... a must.
These humble pie songs. Live with me, I walk on gilded splinters, four day creep, stone cold fever.
Of course I saw them back in the day...fantastic show. Listen to "I don't need no doctor"...another banger
You young gents have no idea…but..respectful reaction
It should be AC/DC is reminiscent of Humble pie, not the other way around.
Except ac/dc has not soul.
@@tedsmith7814 Never dug AC/DC... ALWAYS dug the Pie... saw them on their farewell tour in 75-ish...
@@daveguitarnowski4402 I saw them at Summerfest in Milwaukee. Someone lit a concession booth on fire and we had a nice bonfire going for 30 Days in the Hole, lol!

AC DC can't hold humble pies mic cords... No similarities what so ever....
The Pie! For another slice check out I Walk on Gilded Splinters.
Steve Marriot's voice is so incredible. Bluesy, gritty and rock oriented! The Faces (after Steve left) song " Stay With Me" has my favorite intro EVER
Stay With Me...YES
Stay With Me is a huge BANGER. There is also an album by Rod Stewart that I think you'd really like, Every Picture Tells A Story. It has some bangers and some folky stuff. Very charming assortment of songs that make for a great album listen. Have I steered you guys wrong yet?
@@peteb2304
Preachin' to the choir brother!
ONE of your BEST REACTIONS Guys---This is a freakin' Banger...Can listen to it over and over and over.
Humble Pie Performance Rockin the Fillmore is an epic album. Check it out
'I Don't Need No Doctor' Huge bangers. Andy, easy A+ and the way you were reacting during the song, you were thinking A+ all along! A?....give me a break!
These were truly one of THE greatest live bands EVER. Check out "Performance , Live at the Fillmore" album, paticularly "I don't need no doctor".
Savoy Brown. "Hellbound Train". Like Humble Pie. Underrated.
I never realized how much The Black Crowes sound exactly like Humble Pie.
They really should do a Black Crowes review.
Exactly my thought
When Hard to Handle came out the first time I heard it I thought maybe Humble Pie got back together. I’m pretty sure Steve Marriott died in the fire like the next year . I told my late brother “well these guys are carrying the torch” and man did they for a while.
The Black Crowes are a totally reminiscent of the Faces too...
@@tinfoilmagnolia3134 ...as is this song IMO. Seems the other members of the Small Faces had a type they liked on lead vocals.
62, and I agree
My dad played Humble Pie on the 8 track in the car all the time. Stevie Marriott's voice is something special. Highly recommend Rockin the Filmore. Glad you loved it.
Did he ever have to jam a matchbook or something into the slot along with the tape in order to get it to track right? Those were the days. :)
One of favorite songs in high school! YES! Great choice!❤️👍
Try the Pat Travers band “SNORTING WHISKEY “ you’ll like it for sure.
Also try their song “ boom boom (out go the lights)
I agree ! Been trying to get them to do that song forever and Born Under a Bad Sign ✌️
Crash and Burn is good, too
so glad to see the younger generation finding real music.
YEEEESSSSS!!
"We need to do more from this band if there's more from this band..."
Oh yes dear friends, there's definitely more from this band!
This song 30 days in a hole gives me a memory of my first year in university I was 17 and the song was just blaring down the hallway and I loved it now I'm almost 67 50 years have passed and I still love it thanks guys for playing it
"Stealin'" by Uriah Heep is a similar song from this era,
You two nailed it yet again. Never disappointed. Good job.
Funny you should do this song. I was just thinking earlier this week that you should do some Humble Pie. The other Humble Pie songs I would suggest are I Don't Need No Doctor and Hallelujah, I Love Her So.
Steve and the boys! Finally. Great crank-it-to-11 song for tooling down the road. Enjoy, guys, and thanks for your insightfulness. Cheers....
If you liked the singer, try some Small Faces, probably Tin Soldier. Of course you should also do Faces, after Steve Marriot was replaced by Rod Stewart and Ronny Wood.
Steve Marriott reminds me of mods & rockers, fights on Brighton Beach, Doc Martin’s, Lambrettas and handfuls of amphetamines. Lucky I’m alive.
Early Rod Stewart is one of the best, most unique singers in rock history .....change my mind.
Definitely Tin Soldier. Imagine PP Arnold singing backup on this?
This is a down and dirty song! An all time classic! Jerry Shirley is on drums. He ended up a DJ in Cleveland for a short period of time.
Lol guys Steve Marriott was the man,
Humble pie rocked
Check out. Black coffee
Peter Frampton was on I don’t need no doctor....my favorite rock and roll moment was smoking a joint with Stevie Marriot at the “on to victory” tour at Haymakers in Chicago in 1980! One of the best rock ‘n’ roll voices ever!!
Check out Humble Pie, Black Coffee!!!
I second that motion.
You guys, hoping for something greasy and gritty. Me, chuckles over and over. How wonderful to hear these songs for the very first time! I envy you both.
Anything off “Live at the Fillmore East” is sauce!
I Don’t Need No Doctor, Stone Cold Fever, Are You Ready.
Loved hearing 30 Days in the Hole.
Y'all Crack. Me. Up. Loved the song. Loved the review. Keep up the GREAT work!! Rock. On. 🤘😎👍
Couldn't click fast enough!! What a voice--RIP Steve Marriott
Humble Pie was the group that Steve Marriott left the Small Faces to form with Peter Frampton. Go listen to "I don't need no doctor" from Live at the Fillmore. Marriott+Frampton= Sauce
Can't believe this didn't win any poll it was in. Nothing else at the time sounded like this.
I'd say "All Right Now" did, though a couple of years before.
@Joan In Florida Agreed. I will say that this week has been solid. Curious to see what Friday brings 🤞
On their 3rd album titled Humble Pie is a song called Only A Roach. I often feel this was inspiring them to 30 Days. Great band.
In a similar vein, hit Faces - Stay With Me next.
I was thinking the same thing. Then do all the great Rolling Stones songs that inspired all these bands
Stay With Me is arguably a perfect rock song.
Not Marriott, but Faces were great!
Saw them in '71 at Shea Stadium with Foghat. One of the first concerts I'd ever been to and still one of the best - what I remember of it anyway. That was the same year SAVOY BROWN released HELLBOUND TRAIN!!! Which you guys need to play. It is so SAUCEY
I Don’t Need no Doctor....Humble Pie. Try that.
The live version video! It's on UA-cam!
Singer Steve Marriott was a brilliant Rock singer, one of those dudes who could have the power go out and he would still sing announcements to the back of the hall. Had the privilege to see them at the 1973 Milwaukee Summerfest "riot"
Humble Pie actually got pretty darned big back in the day. Their live album is considered to be one of the best live LP's ever recorded. Steve Marriott from The Small Faces is the lead singer. He was no bigger than your left leg but had a HUGE voice (kinda like Ronnie James Dio, no? Two dwarves with GIANT singing voices.....).
don't forget about Peter Frampton
I enjoy you guys reacting to cool music. I visit your site a lot. Enjoy college, dudes! Thank you.
Ten Years After - I'd lov to change the world . plz .
Yes, most any Ten Years After!
Good Morning Little School Girl-Live at the Filmore ‘ ❣️
