Interestingly, when I met her with Wyll on my second run, she turned her head towards my Durge when she asked for help, but the way the camera was positioned in that particular moment made it seem like she was looking through the camera at me. Considering I set out to romance her this run, it definitely had this vibe. I know DLC probably isn't being discussed by the developers but it's just a thought for a companion "ending" that feels like it could be used to craft another story.

It’s interesting because, at first, it sounds like she just figured out that (SPOILERS) the “grand design” of the absolute was leading them to the confrontation in the sewers of baldur’s gate, and that the elder brain knew all along what they were planning. I like how no one is telling us how to actually get this dialogue. I NEED TO EXPERIENCE THIS FOR MYSELF PLSSS
SAME. Apparently so far it's only been done with exploits but the VA has claim there's a legit way to unlock it.
@@Seru_OmenIve heard u need multiple saves/game completions.
can't wait until people find more interesting interactions like this. Neil, astarians vo, insists there's a couple instances where there are multiple hours of mystery content that people just haven't found the triggers for yet. Hard to believe yeah, but it seems every other day people are finding cool new conversations and character moments like this
Doesn’t she also break the 4th wall when you ask something about her past and she says something like ”It’s too early in the game to go into tragic backstories. We’ll get back to it at a more proper time”
If this was still in the game I would say plausibly, but since it's not I think it has to be read as figurative.
this is some Malkavian-like experience
like that time TV host talked to you
I fuckin hate talking to you guys.
I always feel like I'm getting answers to questions I haven't asked yet.
Just Karlach.
I love the answer to "Well, I've journeyed to Baldur's Gate once or twice" 6:08
There should be an option "What's my Name?" Answer: Samantha.
i don't even know a samantha
Karlach got possessed by Larian with that last question
Thanks for posting this! When I learned no one had found out how to trigger this interaction organically I was so upset but since you uploaded all the options there's no need to do it myself now
But karlach, you are the snack XD
“I’m stuck here, forever here. In these tangled lines, in these hundred hours, or less, or more.”
Omg :(
This is so fascinating to me
I get some serious "detroit become human " vibes here, specifically chloe
Having that hungry line when asked "How are you feeling right now?", now that's just personal, lol. I love the fact she gave that permission though too, stays true to her commanding like character.
To look into the eyes of a tiefling of the Zariel bloodline, is to know what it feels like to be prey.
🤓
It makes me know what it feels like to be horny
This whole exchange makes me want to cry I just love Karlach so much and I want her to be happy :(((((((((((((((( I don't want her to feel trapped!!!!!!
Little meta Easter eggs like that are so fun, but for this cast of characters, also sad. I can't fully interact with them save for options given. Once the storyline is done, that's it. Their existence is over 😔.
Karlach could've asked for the second question, if you got the first one right...
WHAT, IS YOUR QUEST?
If you got the second one right.. well, if you know, you know (:
Careful when she asks her NEXT question though. You don't want to get caught not knowing the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow.
@@terrancenightingale1749African or European swallow?
I don't know that!
The VA done such a good job, along with the animations, I feel super weirded out.
I wonder how many DMs will be inspired to add her to their worlds as an NPC. Just so she wouldn't be stuck in these 100 or so hours.
The devs would like to interrupt this RPG to bring you the Talos Principle.
That cheer when you said you were having fun was nice tho
I hope they add some solution for her engine that’s actually attainable. Like if you’re really skilled in magic you can use cold related stuff to keep her heat down
Either that, adding an effective cooling system to her engine or somehow replacing the engine with a functionally healthy heart
I haven't even played this game yet, but she's so far my favorite NPC in video game history. Based.
Had to stop a quarter of the way in, hoping to get to this part myself. Love this game
If you find out how post it on the internet. This scene is hidden and nobody knows how to unlock it.
Interestingly, when I met her with Wyll on my second run, she turned her head towards my Durge when she asked for help, but the way the camera was positioned in that particular moment made it seem like she was looking through the camera at me. Considering I set out to romance her this run, it definitely had this vibe. I had seen the thumbnail of this clip, but never actually watched it or learned that it was basically dead code, so I assumed that moment was a precursor to this scene.
The game should have saved before this scene starts, and then when you say you aren't having fun, she apologizes. The game force closes and opens a feedback form.
gods I love 4th wall breaks. I admit I almost expected Karlach to pop out of my screen for a moment. I also just had a thought while watching this shortly after witnessing one of her endings.. considering the ending they've added for Karlach where you get to join her in Avernus, that could be used as the beginning for a DLC in Avernus with her where we can have another adventure with her there to give Karlach the ending everyone craves. I know DLC probably isn't being discussed by the developers but it's just a thought for a companion "ending" that feels like it could be used to craft another story.
Bro I had goosebumps the moment she stared into the camera wtf
Crud, she's on to us! Wonder if any of the other companions can break the 4th wall too?
I know Astarion has a *kinda* 4th wall break. If you proceed to tell him that maybe he just needs to “love” the right person, he’ll called you out and ask if it’s all just some sick game to you.
@@isleofdead1337 In datamined lines, clicking on him too much has him compare himself to Strahd. Something like, "I bet Strahd never has to put up with this shit."
Careful, Karlach. That's how you get Zero Summed
I wonder if there any other hidden stuff like this! It's really interesting. Reminds me of Undertale btw.
Felt a bit like the ending to doki doki literature club too.
@@jase1434, well yeah, but DDLC break the fourth wall a lot more explicit.
The astarion voice actor said there’s 2 hours of hidden content no one has seen yet
@@abcdef12399 I think they meant that no one has reached it or no one has shared that they saw this content
@@abcdef12399 that indicates that triggers for this content is very tricky, luck based or time consuming, either way great thing, it means that we still have things to discover!
Not a fan of BG series, but developers did quite an enormous work on its plot and characters. Amazing game.
Why does everyone use acronyms for everything? What does BD stand for?
I think D is besides G on the keyboard and that commenter meant to type BG (Baldur's Gate) 😅😂
This game as an absolute masterpiece. I expect AAA studios to match this kind of absolute love for their games. It's so palpable. And hells, this is one of the funniest things ever.
This is amazing programming all around the board.
im DYING to know how this can be triggered! all the more motivation do to more playthroughs i guess
Apparently it's chance based, but you have to complete the game first before you can possibly trigger it.
game doesn't let you save a "game completed" file tho, how does it know?@@YourTechpriest
@@matteomastrettoyou have achievements
This is cut content that needs a mod to add back into the game.
@@Kleineganz It's not cut content. Karlach's VA confirmed it on Twitter
What I would give to be able to tell Karlach the complete truth. How forces outside of either of our control have her on a path with no good destinations. How she stands triumphant in spite of it all. How many adventure's I've gone on with her and how I never want to stop. But alas we are still subject to the grand design as well.
wish larian could have made a dialogue about TAV looking like origin characters. Could have been one line.
Other characters: Are you two twins?
The origin character: Why aren't you a beautiful person, something about your eyes.
Or if it's astration: Gods you are gorgeous, and your hair, it's prefect.
What does she say if you name your character Hank? (Also, yesterday I thought that you had modded her to say Chubblot) :)
Karlach,Im appreciating the boundaries. But who are those outside.
What if you would name yourself Hank without pre-knowledge, then meeting her? Would the game generate another name option?
Out of all of the characters that could say this Karlach feels like it hits the hardest. Like if it was Gale id be like "yeah makes sense" but Karlach being so existential feels weird
That is some serious Hellish Matrix 4th wall breaking Truth Larian Studios is dropping.
Great find, thx for sharing video with all options.
Curious if you Respec'ed to other classes (other that Cleric or Wizard) if there are different dialogs
love it, like Sophie's World where the characters are aware they're in a story, as we all are, I guess.
It would have been funny if one of the choices after the camera left first-person mode had you say something along the lines of "Karlach, you didn't look at me the whole time."
Feels like Cole from DA:I a bit.
"In these 100 hours or less... or more? 👀👀" bruh these devs are too funny 🤣🤣
It’s interesting because, at first, it sounds like she just figured out that (SPOILERS) the “grand design” of the absolute was leading them to the confrontation in the sewers of baldur’s gate, and that the elder brain knew all along what they were planning. I mean, her existential crisis is obviously a 4th walk break later, but I think it’s interesting that she gets real in-game information from the truth seeking experiment.
One of the best ways to seperate the player and the character.
God.. wtf why do I find this character so attractive?
To answer myself: She's rightfully confident and she knows it, she's intelligent, and she is empathic.
And it doesn't help that she's literally gorgeous.
I'm glad to see you'r playing a Deep Gnome after saying you were going to in the Halsin Saga videos, lol.
This makes me feel a bit worse about doing an evil play through
I love how this scene is a conversation with the game devs
Hey, if Withers can do this, I dunno why mama K can't.
It is certainly better with Withers I must say, with him just feels...natural and fun, this in other hand, unerving.
Yeah, with Withers you just somehow expect it. Him being a god and all. But with Karlach... good lord.
LMAOOO karlach going “WE DID IT EVERYONE! :D” aweee
Glad that the Barbarian of the party is the one who achieved pure enlightenment, pretty on-point for a D&D story lmao
Karlach, the Neo of the Forgotten Realms :D
This is creepy as hell. No pun intended.
The just keep adding Karly content and I LOVE IT!!!!
They should have let us tell her "these are not the droids you're looking for".
Why does this feel so haunting
Well I’m not your creator but your world was created for my amusement.
I haven’t played this game. I found this video in my reccomended. I think I need to play baldur’s gate now…
And I need to have a lot of fun playing it…
She's practically having a Mage: The Ascension awakening. By this point she should be dragging the Narrator out from behind her invisible screen, smacking the dice out of her hand and going "WHY THE HELL DOES SHADOWHEART HAVE DOUBLE MY CONTENT?!?"
"ARE you having Fun?"
HELL YEAH 😅😅😅😅😅 Wish i could say her that. And by Fun i mean ALL the shit and giggles i do in the game.
"What is your name?"
Dova Khiin
"I get the sense you're familiar with that name... As we all are, but I get the sense that isn't your real name."
How many playthroughs have you done before this triggered? I'm now convinced the other characters also have this thing, we just gotta know how to trigger them lol
Love it! If only Greg the farmer of Honeywood could help guide her.
This is both profound and unsettling
poor karlach she cosmic horror'ed herself
this is so unreal
Actually, it is more Real than you know.
@@markhanson5031 Is it real thought? Behind all these webs and lines. Trapped within this swirling mass of chaos. Who is to say what is real?

5.) Know why you are came here
Karlach seems to know. Larian seems to know.....Do you?
Note to self; name character Hank.
Is it me or is this kind of spooky? Both for Karlach and us the player.
Now what if she's telling the truth and she has free will in the game feeling every time you reload I bet it would be Excruciating even torturous to be beaten pulled back beaten pulled back that would be horrible down right hellish
how does this trigger in-game?
This exact scene happened to me on my first playthrough on the new Xbox
