    In addition to the exhaust tape, you could try some HVAC aluminum tape on the backside of the fender. The glue is meant for high temp applications and it should hold up for years.

      @jaegersracing  3 роки тому

      I appreciate this! Will definitely need more I think even with the tape that’s on it now. Can’t be too careful with those fenders!

    Thanks for the video. I'm an old Zilla guy, bought new, still have it (in a lonestar 250 chassis). After my first build (Duncan National kit), my zilla was running similar, swapped jetting, had no effect. Eventually found a small metal shaving on my CDI pickup...sticking straight up, tiny piece....flywheel was shaved, I suspect it was riding on flywheel until pickup grabbed it. Totally fixed at removal.

      It and the twin carbs will like have to go at some point. They were kind of a package deal with the current set up. I’m not the biggest fan of either

    "Can't stop staring at this thing" Me too bud... Also, for something as mechanical, and simple as a carbed 2 stroke, you wouldn't think cable management would come into play. Came to work on damn engine, found out it has the needs of a computer Lol. Also, doesn't matter if you're a young and just learning, an old and grizzled veteran mechanic or if you're working on a Brigg's and Stratton, a high compression 2 stroke build, or a 1000hp Big Block...the ritual of the first start up puts a smile on the face every time. Seems like your Zilla is a little camera shy when it comes to running, but hey. That's what what the test and tune is for, will be watching the next vid to see what happens next!

    I tthink your right I didnt notice a good amount of spark considering rotations the motor made . maybe pickup coil if it has one buy the flywheel. Or something making ground somewhere ignition like you said youll get it'' had one go on a honda of mine back in the day it was magnetic. so yeah took a couple times to figure it out flicked it whith my finger realized it broke but it slapped against flywheel after hard landings on jumps. Honda 250R and 500s were fun back in the day! good times. The pits were in my back yard pretty much rode daily not so much now. nice build. An collection just awsome. Nice job!!

    Iv never had a problem by having fuel lines looped all over the place high or not.thats how my trx250r is.i have it that way so i can remove my tank and sit it on the back where subframe is without disconnecting lines if i have to do some tinkering. Works perfect.my lines are looped all the way down by the stator cover and back up.i have rubber isolated conduit clamps held on my one stator cover bolt that holds it.as long as the lines are lower then the tank it should never be an issue

    • @jaegersracing
      @jaegersracing  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I don’t think getting fuel was the issue, but it was probably good that I revised the line routing regardless. I’m thinking it’s the ignition.

      2 people, ramps, and a ratchet strap wrapped around the carrier section of the swing arm. Use the strap to do the heavy lifting, have second guy hold brakes while you redo strap. Repeat. Once up on shelf, swing front end.
      Or, use tractor with bail spikes
      Or, back truck up and transfer it from truck bed

    Dude I don't know if your engine braking but it sounds like it I could be wrong but if you are, never engine brake on a 2-stroke! Never ever ever! The bike will run at high RPM under engine braking means lack of engine lubrication cylinder lubrication, a two-stroke engine gets lubrication under throttle gas mixed with oil!, when Engine braking with a two-stroke the cylinder is revving and running but not getting the proper oil mix for the gas that it needs again I'm only asking and just putting it out there just in case

      Yeah, it’s got brand new fuel and I was thinking fuel, but it seems to me that it’s more electrical. Feels like someone is flipping the kill-switch as I ride it. Going to check for loose grounds and then check ignition and CDI. It will be solved soon🤞
