You are NOT the only one. Anything that diverts you from crime must be a good thing. From experience painting/ drawing/ crafting is one of the best things I did FOR MYSELF and it's my RIGHT. I no longer waste my time around too many people this lockdown is the best thing that has happened to us thankyou Universe. PEACE

Seeing your room is like visiting Grandma's attic or Grandpa's workshop! I love it. I recently bought 3 of the rolling carts and they are just what I needed. I do my crafting on the kitchen table and having those carts available keeps my table free and at hand and I just roll them out when I'm done (which I'm basically never done so they stay right there in the kitchen!) I'm planning to get two more. Thank you for sharing!

I get why you put the brakes on happy mail. A great space for creating, Gayle, and wonderful to have everything you need within arm's reach.
I remember telling you that you’d want things closer in that larger space. I also told you you’d want more than one rolling cart. 😁
I have a slow stitch rolling cart, a Gelli plate & paints rolling cart, and a cart that hold a bin with all my play papers/digitals/scraps in vinyl envelopes, along with my wet wipes, paper towels that I reuse, and some extra stuff on the bottom. So handy! They move in and out of the space next to my chair depending on what I am doing.

Try adding to that Sewing and Crafting, Genealogy! Talk about paper accumulation. On top of that mine is also an office as I do some accounting for both my kids and my room is only 12 x 22. I told my husband the other day I was not allowed in Hobby Lobby or Michaels for a long time. However I never said anything about online shopping! LOL Thanks for sharing Gayle.

You really are quite organized! I have to label a lot of my containers to remember where things are, but that helps when I have friends over to play....whenever I can get back to that. :(
I always love your organization ideas!! And every time you talk about your "hoosier cabinet" I always have myself a little giggle, given that I live in the "hoosier" state!!! OMG - thoroughly enjoyed touring your Sistine Chapel of craft rooms. Much drooling. Currently and TEMPORARILY I am in a small one bedroom apartment with no designated dining area, so I steal a corner from my front room for a makeshift crafting area. Yea, multi purpose and cramped as heck. I will live vicariously through you, Thanks for sharing your room with us. xo - Mimi
I just finished a re-evaluation of my craft area layout. I discovered some extra space by moving supplies I seldom use to a spot I had open at the bottom of a cart. That opened up room for my die cutting/ embossing machine up close to me. I just love embossing fabric that has been glued to paper. Now I can indulge my fascination with texture at the slightest whim. Everything I use in nearly every project is within arms reach from my office chair. I just did this so I may discover the need for more changes. It makes it easy to sit down and craft for sure.

My husband made me a storage shelf and bought me a six drawer dresser and two matching night stands for storage. My room is a small bedroom. Seeing how you have organized your desk area and the different things I can use really helped out as I have been slowly putting away things. I have yet to be able to use the room yet but, you gave me some ideas. I m more excited about getting it finished now.

Wow.... I saw the full tour before, and got ideas for my space. I’m now struggling with how and what to keep for scraps because I was keeping every sliver of paper before, but it was too small to use. I’ve weeded that out, so now I need to determine now to organize what I have left. It was great to see your space, and now I have a little more of an idea of how you store your scraps. Thank you

And I don't blame you as I did the same. There is always someone else out there with way too many more craft than me and I am okay with that- we gave away 30% of our items and sold 20% through the Grace Of God feeling alright about it.

Hi, Gayle, what an incredible and inspiring studio! I do have you beat, though, with carts....I have eight!! I have several with paints, one with all my gelli printing supplies, two with images sorted by color in little plastic envelopes, one that has larger papers- text, brown, black and white, green. What I do NOT have are all those completed bits that you have ready to add to your journals. Thanks for a fun tour!

I have a converted single car “girl garage” that is 38’ deep. Half is sewing and quilting. The other half has my long arm and a whole wall of paper crafting/journal making stuff. I would LOVE to be as organized as you are! Both sewing and paper crafting are terrible addictions! Is there a 12 step program? LOL!

I’m also a quilter with a long arm quilting machine. Had a business, so much fabric, batting etc... now getting my toes wet mixed media junk journals oh my!!

I understood when you said "I had 2 carts...now I have 4" I recently bought a 2nd cart that filled up immediately...now I need a 3rd!! 🤭 I was thinking perhaps a Hermelinda-style tag for the envelopes(both sides decorated & it opens for journaling on the inside)!?

Great space and so very well organized!! I've recently moved into a 2 bedroom apartment and I am using the smaller bedroom as my craft room. I work full time and mostly settled into my place. My craft room is still in the stage of set up/organize and I hope to be back to crafting within the next 4 - 6 weeks!! You really do have a wonderful space!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
I remember the first craft room tour that I saw a couple of years ago when you were just in the back little corner and all that main space was your family room. I don’t know how you ever functioned just in that little corner like you did. Being organized helps.

I have one of those rolling carts, and I love it, as well.
I ordered a set of your trays from your list, and they are perfect for us paper crafters! I put scraps in them...organized according to color. I just grab one, and look through them, istead of pulling them out of my sheet protector, then having to shove them all back in! And they stack so nice too!

I hope I’m not violating any rules in recommendations, but I got this item on Amazon and it has significantly increased my storage on my rolling carts. The magnetic strip on the back is very strong and I can put many different things in them.
Ambuker Magnetic Spice Rack Organizer for Refrigerator Spice Rack Shelf with 2 Removable Hooks 2 Pack (White). A bit pricey but for me, we’ll worth it and they are easy to detach and move to other metal areas.
