    Do not disclose anything to MEPS that you haven’t already told your recruiter and that’s in your file. They are looking for ways to DQ you, do not give them any.

      Awesome to hear! Thank you! I cite to the UCMJ (which is applicable to all branches of service) a lot in my videos for that specific purpose, so that folks from all branches might hopefully find value in the content.

    Great video. My son is in week 2 of BMT, and just called, briefly, because he was separated from his squad and "doesn't know why". He's pretty upset and said he 100% wants to be there. Curious, how many guys get a 2nd chance if they have done something wrong or just are not cutting it?

    Hi, saw you on MSgt Reed's channel and clicked on the link. He's been helping my stepson get ready for enlistment. Background: my son's father was US citizen so son has citizenship but was born and raised in Costa Rica so Spanish is his first language but has 85 to 90% English. He failed a trial quiz at recruiting station two months ago. Jody suggested a study book so son's been going through it and thinks he'll be ready to retake the practice soon so he can get scheduled for MEPS. Is there any option to take the ASVAB in Spanish or is it English only?

    • @ashleynoelle
      @ashleynoelle  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Ron! I don't know of any options to take the ASVAB in any language other than English. BUT I do know several Airmen who came in with a very similar situation as your stepson - They grew up outside of the U.S. and had very limited English language skills when they joined. But they were able to learn English, essentially, while they were in the military, just by working with English speakers every day and using the language so much. With an 85-90% comprehension level, I think your stepson certainly has a great shot of passing the test. So I'd recommend to keep studying and try again. If you continue to hit roadblocks, I'd see if MSgt Reed has any connections with the recruiters stationed in Puerto Rico to see if they might have any advice, since I'm sure they run into the same issue quite a bit. Best of luck!

    What could disqualify you when you're at meps

    • @ashleynoelle
      @ashleynoelle  2 роки тому

      Hey Adam! MEPS is a medical evaluation, so that's what they're looking at when you go. You'll go through a physical exam, an eye exam, a hearing test, and they'll also go through any medical records you've gathered from your civilian doctors regarding conditions or procedures you've had in the past and that flagged for the MEPS reviewing physicians. What might disqualify you really comes down to the career field you're trying to enter (in a lot of ways) and other standard physical impairments you may have. So if there would be something prohibiting you from passing the fitness test (sit-ups, push-ups, run), for instance, that could hold you back. It all depends, but you can get a waiver for a lot of conditions.

    Hey when I go to meps should I let them know I dislocated my shoulder my shoulder it was even if they don’t ask because it happened long and it was very minor n I don’t remember when and I don’t even feel the pain to the point that I don’t even remember which shoulder I still lift weight heavy?

    • @ashleynoelle
      @ashleynoelle  2 роки тому +1

      My advice is answer the question that is asked. If they ask you a question and disclosing that info is the honest answer, be honest. But what you've described sounds minor. I'm not a doctor, but I don't think that's something you need to stress about.
