I'm a boomer (technically). What is it about that guitar I'm not supposed to like? I don't even like Les Pauls, and that thing is dead sexy.
I think it's the snobby boomers who think only the classics are good and that music went to shit in the 90's. But yeah, I would eat broken glass for that guitar.

I never get the inlay thing because there's side markers. To me the inlays are for looking fancy for the crowd. When I'm playing and I look down I don't see the freeboard, I see the side of the neck .
Theres a lot of companies that builds better Les Pauls than Gibson

An honest review is the best review. Great video. For me I'm a Schecter guitar guy. Price to performance its an excellent guitar. I own the Schecter Diamond series C-1 platinum with an EMG 81 and 85 pick-up. Plays and sounds great. $600.00 out the door at Guitar Center with a Boss Katana 50 watt modeling amp.

I'm trying to find some help dialing in a tone but as I'm disabled money has become an issue however the stuff I do have IS nice stuff... but it's all I'm working with ..I have 2 JBL 5 inch mk2s a solar killertone and a digitech rp70... any experience with this pedal at all?... I cant get sound I like....please help

Don't like Evertunes, either. Too much mass, and not required.

Bought this exact guitar from Ola at namm 2020. It became my number 1 quick. I write on other guitars for inspiration but always record with the solar. Love the neutral pickups and the evertune.

After having an Evertune guitar for a year or so, I’ll never want another guitar without one
I agree. I now own 5 evertuned guitars. Once you get used to it and figure out how to set it up to your playing style, they are amazing.
I really want to invest in an 8 string once NAMM is over. I’m torn between an Abasi, a Solar or an Ibanez.

That demo track was some of the nastiest riffing I’ve heard on this channel. Goddamn that was fire man. And super stoked you loved the Solar. I always love the positive feedback this company gets! I’ve personally never been a fan of strat/super-strat shaped bodies until Ola was with Washburn, then started Solar.

I had the GC1.7 FBB and I sadly had to sell it, long story. I loved it, BUT, it was so f@*in HEAVY! it clocked in at 12.5lb.s I bought the Type T, getting shipped this weekend. Can't wait for that. Great video man.

I bought a Solar A1.7TBR without fretboard inlays, and despite the great tone and feel, the guitar just was uninspiring to play because of the naked fretboard. So I took a tip from Lucas Mann from Rings Of Saturn, and put strips of glow tape on the fretboard for nice big position markers, and now I play it a lot.

Where'd you get Dad Guitar in red lol I actually want the literal grandpa guitar that Ola made. but in a 7. It's hard to find a 7 single cut, much less with a inline headstock, much much less with reverse headstock.

I'm not very deep into the singlecut segment (I'm more the strat guy) but if I did I would prefer more a traditional look like the ESP LTD EC series I think. Yeah, I think I'm sounding like a boomer haha. Nevertheless, I love the metal way of solar and I love my baritone.
I'm the same with the fret Mark's. I just got charvel so cal and it has the dots that are actually bigger then most dots I've seen. If it makes it just a millisecond quicker to see where to land I like it. I read some comments it's amusing how some people get set off by titles. Obviously your going to try to grab attention to grow and help your channel. I guess it worked actually because they responded. Anywho I'm the former Harry Henderson. I thought I would change my name to things I like. Drinking and guitar.
Great review. I'm looking to buy this guitar. You picked out the 2 things that I didn't like either, the bridge and the inlays. The cheaper model has the old school bridge.

have you ever played the ESP DV8 or DV8-r? i own a dv8r. never been a Dave fan. but i still love this guitar. was wondering if you have seen one or played one. short lived run before he went to Dean. also the Axxion is super sick. love your vids and your vibe man. keep it up!
These are great guitars. For me though the pick ups don't sound great at lower tunings. Drop C they start getting muddy. Just my thoughts based on the nervous sound samples I've heard.

I was about to pull the trigger on a Solar V1.6FRC but there seem to be some legitimate QC issues, so I think I'll wait until those issues are publicly addressed by Ola. Solar makes absolutely beautifully designed guitars for sure!

one thing about the naming scheme, you missed the C part (there are two types of the G style, GC means carved top, GF means flat top, the GCs look killer)
Nice Demo, I dont think i would like the Evertune Bridge either. Ola needs to gift you a guitar for the Demo in my opinion!!
Gotta say I love the tone I'm a fan of your Messa rig but that was tight!!! The other thing is I was pretty impressed with the neck pick usually to me the neck pickup sounds "muddy" and I looked like a dream to play!!

I go back and forth on solar because of the lack of fret markers. But I get it , cost saving. But it has stainless frets , so that’s a huge plus

I think you would love it! It took me some time to come around to the evertunes myself. But man its hard to beat a good classic stop tail/tuneomatic bridge. It just works perfectly
