I'm like Stev Vai, everytime I see a guitar, it's Christmas. About the only common thing I have with Vai, unfortunately. Lol. I'm not a tele fan, but that looks very desirable.

The reason it doesn't have locking tuners is because it's a T2.6N which means its the lower spec model
You've improved your playing like a TON over the past few years... especially noticeable during the last 3-4 videos where you've played bit more...

I like Modern tele’s! Lots of companies are “updating” t style bodies with more modern equipment and I am all for it!
As mentioned elsewhere, locking tuners are included in the more expensive 1.6 models.
Glenn, you are the man. Your 30 videos in 30 days has been great. I am loving the extra dose of content that you have been bringing us, and I apperciate the dedication you have to keep it up while delivering the goods.

This Solar Tele is like the perfect modernisation of the old-school Telecaster model. I agree that locking tuners would be cool to see on future models and if they have it in white with black hardware finish, it will be on my shopping list!

Just an anecdote regarding Solar guitar quality: I've had my A1.6FB for about 8 months now, and it has remained flawless and is just stellar.
The second Solar i got was the lime burst V, and i joked with the driver about being impressed with the lack of UPS speed holes on the box :D i love Solar guitars
It genuinely made me happy to hear Glenn mention that one of the heaviest guitars he recorded was a Tele with a hot rail because it’s my set up currently!

The new Table style guitar always falls gracefully and lands unharmed. That clean strumming revealed a beefy Tele that has a helluva range. Great vid. You'll be cursing like Gollum by 30 days end.
When i saw him reveal this guitar I instantly wanted it. It looks so bad ass even with the plain finish it looks gorgeous. I am definitely going to be getting this at some point in time. just got the ben burnley baritone so convincing the wife might be difficult.

That neck pickup tone is just godlike. Makes regular ol' powerchords sound much more interesting to me.
I'm so glad they did a T-style guitar! I love it! And all natural finish 😍 But i save money for the one with the evertune. 😎🤘🏻

I purchased the 7 String variant of this guitar and it's my new favorite in my collection. The tele body and build quality plus a 7 String made me want it bad. Worth every penny and I enjoy playing it everyday!
I'm the dad guy.I have the Japanese 50's re-issue Telecaster (awesome guitar..bought it in the early 90's..if you can find one BUY it!) I'm not a metal guy..at all really. I play slide on my Telecaster..not very metalish, the point is that Glenn shares knowledge..and we all share opinions..at no cost to you, or to him..he's just trying to make a living sharing with us. I appreciate that he does that..and so do the guys that provide him gear. So with that all said..each to his own..just make music and enjoy it.

The New Solar line is so good for its Niche. There is two I’m saving up for at the moment. They’re doing amazing work

Dude your guitar playing has gotten so good! I think you sound best when playing in standard tuning (or Eb standard, as is the case in this video).

I've been loving my solar A2.7C, but the other day my strap popped off. Needless to say it is damaged, but impressively, it did not require a truss rod adjustment or intonation.

Hi Glenn. One thing worth noting for anyone watching this is, the guitar your are showing is the T2.6 model. And although basically as good, the T1.6 models do come with the locking tuners. Also other good options such as Floyd rose or Evertune bridge. I know you know this, but when showing the guitar and making comments you might mention the other model has the locking tuners. Thanks for the review!!
I own a Solar 1.6 blb evertune and I’m gonna say it’s the nicest guitar on the market today. I was at guitar center for 3 hours trying every guitar, my solar pisses on every fender, Gibson, and any other brands. They are so nice.
I agree!! I’ve got 2. One a1.6 and a baritone a1.6. Both with the Evertunes. Totally awesome deal for the money spent. It’s crazy how expensive other guitars with Evertune bridges are. Glad I’m not the only one who freaking loves these guitars.

I’ve been considering a Tele for a while now for my solo gigs…and this one looks way cooler than a normal Tele!
Love Ola's T-style Solar. My wife doesn't even play guitar and she wants one because she thinks it's beautiful.
I think they started putting Hipshot bridges and non-locking tuners on their axes as an option for those that want to keep the price down, as well as for those that don't want an Evertune.
They have always done that, the "1" series is the premium models and the "2" series is the budget. Nice thing is that pickups, finishes, and overall design are identical for both series; the "1" series just gets the premium hardware like locking tuners, SS frets, evertune or Floyd Rose, etc.
@@ERWebster Then maybe it's kind of a reminder that Solar has more budget-friendly options, and not just what they've gone big on over the last couple of years? It's like that for some brands, where you're so used to seeing them push XYZ for a while and that's what people think of. But, locking turners should just be standard at that price point, as a few extra bucks ain't going to add that much to the relative cost.
Anyway, looks like a great guitar!
I built my own T-type with a Warman hot rails humbucker in the bridge and no neck pick up. It can get heavy, but you can still split the humbucker and get the twang. Fun guitar, but just a wall hanger now.
Oh wow! I love it! I’m a huge Tele fan. It pinches like a pissed off banshee! My question is can you get more traditional tones out of it as well? (I’m also a fan of traditional country, blues and jazz.) Thank you for showing off my next purchase!

Re peeling plastic protective off a pickguard "pro tip" - loosen the screws a bit. The wrap will come off without leaving those nasty little bits stuck to the screws. "pro tip" # 2 - tighten the screws back up when you are done 😎
I have the Solar T1.6C and it’s amazing! Very light weight it sits in about 5lbs. Just put some Emgs in it, sadly, those did not fit. The guitar and pick guard had to modded a bit.

I pre-ordered the white Solar T when it was first announced. Feels amazing, plays amazing, the only issue i have, is that it has some sort of weird buzzing thats audible when recording. Went through many chats, discords, even a few luthiers, everyone confirmed there's a problem, but noone knows how to fix it. Sent back to Solar for repairs, they sent it back saying everything is completely fine. But its not. So im kind of stuck with a guitar that i dont even want to play anymore, the split bridge is pretty much unusable for recording

No locking tuners. Also, no whammy, no string trees, and an arrow-straight pull-through over every nut slot. Yeah, I'm cool with that :)

Funny that I just stumbled across one of Ola's video's about a month or so ago and now I'm seeing him in some form everywhere. Even got 2 of his CD's from his band Feared from the bundle a few weeks ago. He seems like a solid dude and this guitar sound great (and I'm a bone head drummer from the past). Looking forward to seeing this guitar in some mixes.
Side Note: I learned how to play guitar while being a drummer for my first band and wrote about 10 songs since then. So I do have a bit of guitar knowledge.

I’ve got 5 Solar guitars and love them all. The necks on them are the perfect size and i plan to buy a few more and different styles. Probably not a T tho as I’m not a fan of the Tele look

Solar makes some impressive looking guitars.
I’ve said this a million times and I’ll keep saying it. My solar v is the best playing guitar out of the box I’ve ever seen. Even better than my schecters. Absolutely love that guitar. I’ve had my eye one the red t style myself. This video makes me want it that much more.
Telecasters, and many other iconic guitar designed in the 50s, are a good example of old school cool.
Not a fan od the tele body, but I really REEEEAALLLLLY liked what Chapman did to the ML3. I think I like that "modern" iteration more than what Solar did, except maybe for the neck joint, the one in the solar looks ohhhhhh so good. Cool guitar finish, and that hotrail is something too
Imo chapman headstocks are disgusting to look at, but then again i feel the same way with tele’s and strats anyways lol

I think there are 2 versions, I think they make a more expensive one with actual hipshot bridge SS frets and locking tuners. I think the one u have Is the affordable one

Clean sound was very good, detailed, grungy, almost acoustic-sounding. I think the Rail on the neck position is better suited to classic rock and metal / funk Lead tones. That front LP pickup effect. Now I want to see Glen get sent an acoustic 12-string, and have him sing us "The Gallows Tree", or perhaps "500 Miles".
Also, what is the background music during 4:10? Sounds brilliant!
Hi glen, could you do a tips on recording/mixing onto an ipad? I know you normally do more studio based recording but as a budget musician, my bands getting some rough versions done to help advertise the band to potential drummers. Big thanks for all the content and honest advice!
