They provide alot of content including a dimension and a way to teleport. However they pick up blocks which is sometimes annoying
Cow is A tier cause of Beef which is the best early game food
Chicken is A or S tier cause of its infinite chicken farms which are really easy to make and don't require constant breeding
Sheep are B to A tier its a good source of food in early game and drops wool allowing the skipping of night time
A is for annoying c is for Cec d is for dumb f is for failure AND S IS FOR SUPER (b is for b###')
The villager is a mob. It's an old term from MUDs and it's short for "mobiles", meaning NPCs that can move.
Pig is A or S tier it gives raw porkchop, when cooked in a furnace you get cooked porkchop, give 4 hunger bars and pigs are common so ez food sorce.
Villagers are vital to get mending and plenty other end game enchantments in low to mid game so S definitely for them creepers may be annoying but atleast deserve B for the gunpowder so they can help make fireworks

The spider is probably one of the most useful and essential mobs in the game actually.
Let me explain:
First of all, it drops you cords. With them, you can craft either a bow (which following common sense is useful by itself) and the fishing rod.
Why is the fishing rod so important, you may ask?
Because people seem to forget that you can get enchanted books, armor pieces, name tags, leather boots and much more from just fishing. ESPECIALLY if the rod is enchanted- (which you almost always get said rod from fishing already)
Lastly; you pretty much cannot win the game without a bow. It is nearly impossible to beat the ender dragon without the use of a projectile needed to take down the crystals; unless you have a few beds you could utilize to speedrun the game. You can try- but it won't be easy.
So yes, i do believe that the spider mob plays an important role in the game. It should be put all the way up to S tier, or at least A.
Villagers just do a better job at getting enchants and also fishing rods and bows and u can also buy nmaetags from villager
And if you really need string u can just find a mineshaft and have enough for the rest of the game
