the 'fun factor' in videos is key. Most of us have busy jobs and family stuff...youtube is a relaxing place we turn when netflix is not the headspace we crave. I really have come to enjoy your voice, the feeling of peace you radiate when alone and in peace within the woods. i feel that 'awwww' when you crack a beer and the fire is humming along. As a solo backpacker...it s not just gear. You get it...or you dont.
Love the trip videos and real time reaction to gear. Especially enjoyed the real reaction to the pack falling over and dumping out. We have all been there and done that.

I always enjoy your trip videos! I don't get to get out as much as I like to and it's fun to see where you go. I had heard Mohican was back open, that's great. Find it hard to backpack there for more than one night though with the way they have sign in work. Good job on the Nemo, the all-season is on my radar as my next pad.

Love the funny content! Keep the funny coming please! I also like the family stuff when you take your wife or girls out. As a father of two girls myself (both grown) it's fun to watch how I should have done it better when they were of the age I was taking them out. One still backpacks with me when she has time but my wife and older daughter are day hikers only. Thanks for sharing!

AG1 actually taste pretty good its just a bit too expensive for me to get every month. You can really tell a difference in your gut health too with only about a couple of weeks of drinking it.

You should try cooking the steak directly on the coals, no grill. The charcoal just brushes off, and the taste is wonderful. Easier to pack too.

Oh yea. Good to see you, Bryce. Been a while and yes of course would like to see a video. Just purchased a sea to summit extreme looks dead on like the nemo. Weird huh. Yup I got out when we dropped to 16...degrees F. Plus wind chill. Pad did great my nemo tent has its limits. So looking forward when temps go low Im getting the 4 season kuiu storm star. Awsome and definitely a bomb shelter.
Have you seen the Schill bros any where? Get hold of them for me let me know whats up your neighbor. Jim PS never been to Mohiking...lol. Oh yea wasn't expecting the 16 degrees only found out when I was in the tent. Was supposed to be in low 20s. Yea that was nice. Had zero degree down layers an a 40 degree. Layers oh yea.Steak was great looking oh yea.

I'm trying out the new NXT neoair line which is around R=4.5 to see how I like it for comfort. Now that Nemo has some pads with 40d bottoms though I might consider going back to them.
I havnt tried a NXT yet. Im sure they are great
I used my Nemo EC in 0 degrees and I was never cold from below. Quilt kept me warm on the top side too

Went to red river gorge last weekend in the rain storm stayed dry and warm but I'm just a hammock person and last weekend was a reminder why.😂

I have 1 of those little tables too haha. I love it. Works great in the vestibule too. I'm going out on the AT in MD for a couple nights starting this Thursday. Trying out new gear as well. I can't wait. I just bought the nemo extreme and a few thermarest 0° bag. My 1st really expensive bag lol. I can't wait to try em.

@@BryceNewbold That was my guess. I use the the Hikenture pillow off Amazon, which is basically the same thing but I added a small bit of thin foam between the case and the inflatable bladder for a “diy Nemo Fillo” type of thing, all at 9oz.

We have the Nemo Tensor Extreme, wide and absolutely love it. We took it out on the Foothills Trail in December and it was down in the 20’s. We were very warm and snuggly.
We’re about to begin our thru hike attempt of the AT in a few weeks and we’re taking this pad with us. We plan to keep it the whole way.
I appreciate your silliness. I have major depression and am frequently a downer. It's not something I can fix, medications and therapy help but I constantly have to deal with other people naysaying all the things that are good for me. Found out almost all the things people said to "do" for depression were actually making things worse. I mean sleep depriving, malnutritious, triggering other conditions, increasing heart disease risk, and not right for my complex situation type wrong for me. So what makes you happy and doesn't hurt you could be very different than what works for others. My advice is go with it. You do you. A happy healthy you is worth skipping over a few grumpy spiders (like me) in comment land 👍.
Daikon radishes make a great faux spiced jerky. Shave it with a vegetable peeler, pat dry in a towel. Spritz or baste it with a combination of soya sauce, garlic and freshly ground black pepper then marinate for awhile. Dry it out or use it fresh in sandwiches and salads, or just to snack on. It ends up tasting like a cross between corned beef and pepper teriyaki. You can make variations with a bit of ginger, hot chilies, shaved carrots or green papaya too but try out the simple version first. It works great with root vegetables that have wilted a bit, and it acts the same way as sashimi to "cook" the food. Have fun out there I'm looking forward to more silliness. 💌

Bryce - Yep I was extremely excited they opened up the park and pack sites, well 1 - 7. I didn't know they closed down 8, 9, and 10. That sucks!!! Mohican is a little over an hour from me. A couple of weekends ago I was down there with my Hot Tent and did the ~8 mile loop that goes by the cemetery and sites 1, 5, and 6. Keep the funny videos, but yes throw some semi-serious content as well. I look forward to your content. Hell ya, do a trip video from Utah. Thanks for sharing...-dave

... Nice video ,, Enjoy your style of video ,, you don't take yourself too seriously as the backpacking " GURU" .. ... I get tired of the "Professionals" trying to force a purchase ... Just show the gear and give an honest opinion of it ......... I have the NEMO Tensor Alpine Pad ,, 4.9 R .val ,, reg/ full length which I don't see shown on video's ,, but after 2+ years ,, no negative issues .... For a small trail/camp table I have a sweet little 2 fold table from SOTO ,, works great inside the tent as well .... many wire grills , about 1/2 the size of what you show here ,, without leg supports ,,just set on 2 rocks or small logs .... brand called ,, Hellfire Bushcraft Gear ... 2 grills - 11"x 6" in waxed canvas pouch .... work great ,, one for pot / one for steak ...... Keep up the great work .... Stay Safe ......
... only thing I would include is a good trail dog ,, best trail/camp companion out there ....

Utah trip vid sounds great. Stayed at Site 5 end of December and couldn't believe the damage from that tornado. Only wish a very small part of that storm could have touched on the deadfall near Site 5 b/c dragging the wood from the top of hill like I did was a pain at sunset. Pickings are slim for downed wood. yes site 5 is decimated! ... and it is not a helinox. it weighs like 2lbs

Nice video! I am interested in a review on the Outdoor vitals tent and quilt. I own the 15 degree quilt and have slept to down 19 degrees with a nemo tensor.

So I had no idea that sleep pads had ratings for warmth. Used to be more outdoorsy than I am now but got back into it with my son in scouts.
If I put a wool blanket under my sleep pad (on top of my tent and ground cover) would that add warmth.
