+112HP & 95lbfts APR Stage 1 ECU + TCU B8.5 S5 Upgrade

  • How does 440HP+ sound from your B8.5 S4? This customer got just that, with an APR Stage 1 ECU & TCU Upgrade.
    BIG gains are available on the supercharged 3.0TFSi equipped B8/B8.5 S4 and S5 models. APR's Stage 1 ECU software optimises the fuelling, ignition and many other maps inside the ECU to improve power, torque and driveability.
    The TCU/DSG software then optimises the DSG software for ultra-fast shifting and most importantly, a higher rev limit which allows the supercharge to complete more revolutions, producing more boost, resulting in higher horsepower figures vs. the Stage 1 ECU software alone.
    The horsepower and torque can further be improved with the addition of either the or a combination of supercharger pulley, crank pulley, ultra charger and charge cooler heat exchanger upgrade.
    🔵 Baseline = 336HP & 338lbfts
    🔵 Max Gains = +112HP & 95lbfts
    🔵 Peak Gains = +110HP & 49lbfts
    🔵 Maximum Output = 446HP & 387lbfts

      This car didn't need it but a TCU tune which optimises the TCU is always advantageous to the driving experience, especially on tuned cars

    Could I go to an APR dealer to find out exactly what I have stage wise ? I bought an a5 from a dealership owner . Car runs and drives great however I don’t believe it’s the stage he claimed, which sucks and doesn’t really help me with a base on where to start with further mods. Love the vid🤘🏻🤘🏻

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the comment, if the car has got APR ECU / DSG software on it then a dealer should be able to plug it in and let you know. If it doesn't, then they won't be able to tell... You could ask them to dyno it, if the output is a lot more than stock then it could be modified!

      Stage 1 is for other wise stock cars, if your car is in good working order and maintained correctly with no running issues it’ll be fine, however if it hasn’t been maintained or has any running issues, these will be highlighted by the increased output

      Regal Autosport I’m basically in the same scenario, 13 s5 85k. I guess for an s5 you would consider that somewhat “high mileage” so that’s really my only concern for going stage 1. Haven’t owned my car a full year yet and s5s are really rare where I live (any German car for that matter) so I’m just on the fence about if I should tune it or not given the mileage already on it. If well maintained, generally how long will these cars last?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  3 роки тому

      @@tarnklestime8404 As long as the car has been properly maintained and there are no underlying issues, then tuning shouldn't cause any problems. If you have a pre-existing issue, tuning will likely only highlight the issue.

    how does the car work with 95 petrol? I'm asking because my S4 is for long journeys, and it can happen that in a petrol station there is no 98 or better fuel. also do the cats go bust due to the engine running leaner (thus hotter exhaust gases)?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 роки тому +1

      Running 95 instead of 98 will result in the knock threshold being lower. This means that when you are running the car it will have higher targets for various different parameters than it should, as the software was designed for 98 RON.
      If your running at partial load it should be okay, just drive economically.

      @@RegalAutosport hey, thank you for answering back! on motorways at cca. 130km/h I'm at around 3000RPM. which is then the min. threshold where the knocking could occur?

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 роки тому

      Knock threshold refers to the ignition point whereby knock occurs, it’s load and many other variable dependent and impossible to know without having the car here

      @@RegalAutosport ok, thanks guys. I really do want to get the tuning, but often on motorways or in isolated places there is only 95 petrol available. obviously I would drive like a grandpa, my objective being not to destroy the engine. and having only 95er petrol is a common occurrence in many places around Europe. M.Petrol filling station in Hungary would be such an example. and they are very common on motorways. perhaps the alternative is to do a very light performance increase, basically getting to something like the stock SQ5 with the same engine (350PS) or not exceeding 400PS.
