We have 2 of these sofas in "Hillared" beige color and they look like new after a year. We have a 2 year old kid who jumps on them all the time , we have cleaned it a couple of times but looks firm. I would definitely recommend this sofa.
We've had the 3 seater Kivik for 5 or 6 years I think. It's still a great sofa, I can sleep on it cause the cushions are so comfy. I recently changed the legs and lifted it up a bit higher. I am also planning to buy a new cover from another company in a light colour to update the space as I've had enough of the anthracite. Other than that I'm super pleased with the solid build, quality cushions and overall comfort. Great sofa considering the cost.
imalaz I have the same 3-seater. I want to add legs but was confused about the support bar where the chaise meets the couch. So did you buy 8 legs or 10? I would love to know...
@@mrsrhodes9736 4 legs for the 3 seater and 4 for the chaise is how I did it. But the two pieces of furniture are not connected so Im not sure what you mean about the connection. Does that help?

For only a two month old sofa, it seems the foam and seams have shifted too much...ie...look at the edges where your knees would be. They're all rolled over towards the floor. More importantly, I read somewhere that the Kivik no longer has the lengths underneath the armrest, but instead moved them under the main part of the sofa. Is this true? If so, it could become problematic if folks ever try to sit on the arms. The old Kivik has the legs supporting the armrests, so it's not an issue. I reaaally like the Kivik in the store, but am a bit wary about the seam shifting and lack of support under the armrests.
I have the 3 seater and we have the grey cover and these couches are virtually indestructible. We don’t have kids but we are rough on them and I feel like they will last forever
Naba Rizvi absolutely!! My boyfriend is passed out on it now😂 they’re so comfortable and perfect for sleeping on :) the covers wash well too. We have the light grey covers.
Hello sunshine, am shopping for a sofa and one of the main things am looking for if the cushions lasts. Or do they sink after time and need to be replaced
Jesus Fuentes - What color/fabric do you have. I like this sofa but some of the comments about how old it looks after a short period of time make me wonder if it's because of fabric choice.
I change free 3 times after i bought it. In 3 years 3 times chanced. I didnt pay for chancing. If its couch looks lighter after 6-7 months,go directly to Ikea and chance it free. Because ikea knows also how its quality so bad.
A question to anyone and all . . . I will be going to look for a sofa, Kivik is on my list. I see there are comments about the saggy material look/already looking old. Does anyone think it can depend on the choice of fabric? Hillared, Orrsta, or Borred?
We're about to pull the trigger on a Kivik 5 seater with chaise to replace two sofas we've had for far too long... This review, and a couple of others have helped us decide. Cheers!
thank you for the reply Robert. Still, i think the sofa looks overly wore off for just 3 months of use. However, this is far from being an expensive sofa, so "you get what you pay for", and i think it is worth the money. Where i am at, if you are willing (or can $$) spend, around 60-70% more on a couch, you can get a customised couch with much higher quality standards than this one. Good luck
Thanks for vid. I have been looking into buying this sofa and was hoping you could answer a ? ... Is the sofa in your vid the four person seater or the three person seater??? Been struggling on which to buy. Want to sleep on it. lol and think 3 seater is big enough by measurements but not sure because horrible at math . Thanks

The cushions are memory foam, and it makes them look a lot more "dented" or "grooved" than they really are.

This is the one we bough. www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S69193732/ I think it's technically 3 seats, but you could fit like 4 or 5 people on it.
wow. Thanks for such a fast response. Thats the exact one i have been looking at. Thanks again.
Derek. Did u get the 3 or 4 seater Kivik in the end? Debating on wheither to get 3 or 4 seater too. Thanks
Quick question. Thinking about grabbing this set for my apartment but curious as to how the cat reacted to it. Did it try to scratch it up at all?
just_another_n3rd No answer ? :D. I woulk like to Know too ^^.
I had the KIVIK for a year and it was the most uncomfortable couch ever! it is hard as a rock
Hello.
Is your sofa scratched by the cat? or does it protect well?
If your cat scratches furniture it will scratch it up. It is durable fabric, but no match for a cat's claws. My cats however don't scratch it.

Are the chaise reversible?
You can put the chaise on either side.
What a nice review.
