The blind test is most illuminating. I happen to be looking for something to listen to orchestral music, so, the Third Brandenburg Concerto as a test piece is very helpful :)

I bought both M40x and 50x because the 50x has the shortest cable so that I can pair with 40x and put the 50x to my drawer

You use a different then the original pads on the m50x take them and put them on the M40/30 and you will feel a big difference.. from my experience with wicked cushion

i have m30x and m40x i feel more low end on m30x i love it.. m40x less lowend

Bought Grado SR60es and AudioTechnica M40xs, the Grado sounds better, M40xs sound a bit tinny compared to the SR60es, they are so clear. Build quality is quite worse, but they sound good!
