Something about Guzzi is so appealing to me. Effortlessly cool bikes, never seem to be trying too hard, but always unique. I think this will be a great seller, easily the best looking sports tourer on the market. Great review as always!
Nice review Mr Chops. The V100 is a fab machine. Agree with you comments about the vibes. Was interested in what you said about the seating position. Im a 5"6' female and the bike works well for me, though it does require some tall bike/short arse techniques when coming to a stop. The active suspension on the S is amazing, roads that would have my V7 850 shuddering feel smooth. But oh dear Guzzi why the black wheels on the S model? Ive been riding my S since I got it at end of December in the wonderful Welsh crappy weather, those little wings are a revelation, just wish the heated grips were more BMW. Right enough gibber jabber Im off out on my Mandello.
Enjoy it! 👍
Rumblin_Cynth_Rampo, so you have the V 100 Mandello? Is it out where you live?
It's not just the wheels, I would want the S-version, but in white like this one, or maybe red, but you can't. Maybe in future they will offer more colors. Other than that, I want this bike more than any other I've seen in a long time. :-)
I'm still waiting for mine. As I've gone for the grey, the black wheels work for me.
Good plans!
My dream bike. I need it in my life. I'm making it my goal to be worthy of owning one of these in a few years.
They need to remake the griso..brilliant machine! 👌
Concur.
I agree totally. I had a 1200 Griso in 2016, and regret selling it. It was the sexiest looking bike on the planet. I feel that after discontinuing the Griso and excellent Sport, Moto Guzzis have lost their appealing styling. The looks don’t do it for me now.😢
this
Getting a griso some day. 100%. Might consider one of these too, but let's see what I think of a test ride.
A 1200 Griso with at least +125hp, ABS, TC etc. would be great! And a remake of the 2001-2005 V11!
It is a very stunningly good looking machine. It's not a fussy style, it's not edgy and complex. It's smooth, it's got a very good overall proportional balance, it's got enough complexity in the wheels to set it off, the finishing of all the metals is high quality and purposeful. Goodness it's pretty.
What a really stunning machine, in every way. I bet a lot of other manufacturers are concerned about just how good this is. Congratulations to Guzzi! Big up the underdog. 👍👍👍
I've never owned a Guzzi, but i've always liked the look of their engines. Does sound nice, and it's different from the normal Japanese stuff
My experience with the normal Japanese stuff (Hayabusa and M109R from Suzuki) is thousands of miles of trouble free riding. On the other hand my 2022 Aprilia Tuono (non factory) with less than 1,000 miles already has a warranty issue with the brakes. My advice would be to wait a year or two on this all new Moto Guzzi to give yourself a chance for them to work out any troubles. Italian exotica is nice and all that but..... Good luck.
@@baymoto553 tbf I always wait a year or two on new stuff for the issues to get ironed out, not just bikes. Agree my Japanese bikes have all been trouble free, two Kawasaki, three Honda, and one Suzuki, never had any problems other than normal wear and tear induced things requiring maintenance
Best looking Guzzi in ages and the modernisation but still some Guzzi character. Seems like a great non mainstream bike.
As a guzzi v11 owner the appeal of them is the simplicity and ease of maintaining them. I like the engine and understand they had to go to water colling but all the electronic gimmics and rider aids put me right off give me a base version with only abs in red with gold wheels and I'd seriously consider one.
Always loved the look of a Moto Guzzi. Something different, exotic. This looks to be an already great bike, brought up to date.
Great coup Chops. Would love to see the comparison test Greg suggested; between the Mandello 100 and the BMW R1250R (as I selfishly own one of those 😋).
I've been looking forward to your review of this bike so thanks for getting out in the cold and making this happen. I have also come up with a neat little solution to the missing Gold Wheel problem, namely buy the base White one as well as the Green one and simply swap over the wheels, leaving you with a monochrome version and the Green & Gold one as advertised at launch!
A bit over my budget but not overpriced! Very much anticipated first ride, thank you mate for going out there in the cold to deliver it to us!
I still own a 2018 V7iii myself and loving it!
Looks like a premium classic bike.Thanks.
Beautiful. I can’t wait to get out for a test ride
Great first ride Chops! This bike is a bit of a stunner in the flesh! Looking forward to making my own review so I can see how it compares to my R1250R 😊
Beautiful motorcycle. Of course I’d like to see him review it’s up-spec brother sporting the Q.S. and electronic Ohlins. Hopefully on a warmer dryer day so Chops could give it a right spank pushing it through the corners. Heard it’s surprisingly agile.
Yes me too 😁👍
Enjoyed that as ever John (particularly your friend in the garage) - interesting bike this isn’t it….looking forward to having a go myself….
Hope your talking about the bike and not my new edition to the garage! 😁👍
Your enthusiasm is addictive.. I fell in love a bit with the V100 even though I‘m not sure I like the design so much. But I think this is one of those bikes you will love, when you own it. Thanks for the charismatic review, great! 👍😍
That Mandello is one sexy beast! It’s been a long time since I’ve swung a leg over a Guzzi, but I think I’m going to have to give this one a go.
Rode some Guzzis and they were all great. A bit different than the crowd. :) A cool video bro. Enjoyed it. The main competitor is for sure the R1250RS. Rode that one also. Waiting for better days and in March I will do my test ride of this bike. You got my like.
She’s a beauty, and does sound great. Nice to see a modern sport touring bike option.
Oh, this is such a breathtaking taking piece of motorcycle art. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great review as always, Chops!👍 Piaggio Group are certainly producing some quality bikes at the moment & challenging the big manufacturers on everything! I recently bought a new RS660 (also from Wheels!) partly on the back of your reviews & absolutely love the bike!
Couldn't agree more!
For this year I plan to ride the RS550. I am interested in it. :) Hopefully this year it is gonna be great for Piaggio group making this wonderful V100 and with also other new stuff also coming. Drop by, you may like it. :)
I've seen the white one, at the dealers, and I met a lady owner, on her V100s in green.
They look as good in the flesh, as they do on screen!
The lady I spoke too, loved hers...just ordered a low seat for hers.
I'm waiting for my March delivery. My 98 Aprilia RS250 will have company now. Can't wait.
Only things I'm less than keen on are the lackl of a button for the screen and the overly quiet exhausts bikes are now forced to have. The first one is no deal breaker and the second is easily sorted. I'm very tempted to get a hold of one of these. Lots of love for Guzzi. Its great to see a maker not just doing boring inline twins then styling exercises on them to make them sporty, toury or off roady.
Absolutely stunning looking machine, great video John.
If this had come out when announced I would have purchased. But, now my V4s Multistrada is sat in the garage shouting, too late I got him.😀😀
hi, I'm Italian and yesterday in Verona (MBE fair) I saw the 'military navy' color scheme and the bike is really beautiful. a couple of considerations, they say that the bike is different from any other but in my opinion it is an improvement of the TDM900 idea that has had so much sales success. in relation to the gold colored wheels, I think it is a small ploy to entice you to purchase the basic version which perhaps they fear may sell too little. after all, an Italian product is very tied to style and even a choice of color can make all the difference
Good first look video Lamb Chop. That is a really nice bike.
Glad you enjoyed the bike!
Yes very nice thanks 😊 👍
Lovely bike and attention to detail is great. I love that the LED headlight when on is shaped the same as the Moto Guzzi emblem. I believe they're prepped for luggage etc too? Looking forward to the comparison test though! need to get one myself. My dad had a few guzzi's over the years always said they had a certain character! , have to say, he was right, they're really not bad! Great review as always!
Yes fully prepped for luggage to attach and great attention to detail 👍
No add-on scaffolding for the panniers either, unlike my 1250RS. Looks proper swish 👌
@@NotNowCato1254 yeah, I like it! Looks really well put together too.
I was really looking forward to this review, you like similar bikes to me and I really like the look of this bike 😍 Looks like it has preload and rebound on the forks, but no compression adjusters. Please borrow this bike when it's nicer Mr Chops, love to know if it cuts the mustard in the twisty stuff 👍👍
Yes me too, bit more on the suspension on the follow-up vid 👍
Cracking review and thoughts Chopsy, I really loved my test on it back in December, and think I'd have one in my garage tomorrow if I was after a sports tourer. I think it looks best in the red with gold wheels... although I would probably want the S version if I was spending my money.
Thanks Pete 👍
Dead sexy sport tourer, thank you Moto Guzzi. Can't wait for them to come to the states.
What a beauty, just like the place it’s made. The gold wheels with green looks great but not available?. Style, Italian , built by the lake behind the red gate 👍👍👍
Nice one Chopsy ! 🥰
Love it in white.👍
I’m seriously interested in this bike will be test riding one when the weather is a little warmer. Great review
Thanks Ian 👍
Yep this bike is on a very limited list for me of bikes that induce lust/need/want, the other is the Z900RS. Good to hear your comments on the wings, as I love to keep my vehicles and run them for years, a point of failure that was useless would annoy me but if it does serve a purpose I can live with that.
Every angle of this bike looks pretty and that sound, the shove altogether a beauty; and yes it does ya pole dancer justice... 😊🖖👍
I got the z900rs café, sporty little thing. a blast on the home stretch, decent touring capabilities. gem of an engine, good brakes, good ride. Cant sing its prays high enough. This one tickles my balls too though, if i was out for more touring. But price...
@@MikeBikeOriginal *SPOT ON* mate 👍.
Z900RS (Café and/or non Café, both) is a blast of a bike 👍
Gorgeous bike
nice to see mrs chops finaly making an appearance in you videos 😁
Yes she enjoyed it 😂🙌
Lovely ride, there, Chopsy. Definitely one of the better looking bikes around today.
The vibes will go away once its properly run in and with higher temps. I noticed it on other brands bikes too
Good video! First I am wondering how you are staying warm with what you are wearing. No touring jacket or something heavier. The questions are does this bike compete with the BMW R 1250 RS? And what other similar bikes? The sport touring market kind of went a way or became scarce so I am curious. I consider myself a sport touring person but the market for that segment of bikes disappeared. Anyway do you think you will be able to review the higher spec model of this bike? And Moto guzzi has had a reputation for bikes that have issues and some owners have complained about that. So do you think this bike will be better than bikes such as their Adventure model which I heard had some issues. I personally do not know but just asking. So, is this a bike you would consider? Thanks
Wow what a stunning bike chops keep up the great vids 👍
I must be getting old because I really like the look of this bike!! nice to see something different anyway
Best intro and outro ever🎉
Such a beauty. A bike like the speed triple RR, where you could forgive any downfalls as soon as you step back and look at it. Green for the Guzzi and white for the speed triple RR, that's a garage that would get me up in the morning.
Nice intro Chops Can’t wait for the riding season to begin. Nice machine Moto Guzzi v100 mandelo Nelson
My friend and I took a small drive over to a dealer who is selling the CFMoto motorcycles and upon looking around we discovered a used Moto Guzzi V7 sitting in the back part of the showroom. I think it was a 2014 I don't quite remember. But it looked as if it were barely ridden and well taken care of, probably a garage princess. It also had very little miles on it to reflect its' use, a little under 8,000 miles on it. It was going for what I thought to be a reasonable asking price.
Which is surprising since European motorcycles and vehicles in general tend to be quite expensive here in the states. It's not that Moto Guzzi is anything special really, it's more of the fact that they're so uncommon in our neck of the woods that you rarely ever see someone riding one. So seeing one being sold in nearly new condition for a reasonable price was nice to see. :)
Wish Guzzi would hurry up and get these bikes over to the US already!
Like the look of the guzzis, not ridden one as of yet. Good video 👍
Always so much detail in your reviews! Very nice looking bike…lucky you can ride in winter, to much snow in Quebec-Canada ! Can’t wait to see further reviews Mr.Chopsy 😊
Glad you like them! 😁👍
I may be in the market for a new news soon and have always liked the idea of Moto Guzzi as I love V engines and something different. Will have to get a test ride, see if this lights me up. Cheers. ☺
Yes and why not! It's a great bike and like you say certainly offers something a little different than the 'normal' offerings 👍
They look stunning, love both the white and red one.
Thank you, excellent review and interesting comments on the active aero in cold conditions. Ordered the”S” version back in October, still waiting.
Thank you for an excellent review. Love the look of this bike and most of the Guzzis.
Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks
Peter
The wheel design is amazing. :)
TFT was on V85, as was IMU and first Guzzi with water cooling was in 1937👌
Got tired of waiting so bought a Multi V2S after three GSs, absolutely love it, a very underrated bike. But next time I change I’ll certainly be trying the Guzzi😉.
Chopzzzzeeee’s gentlemen’s club definitely has a ring about it, pretty looking bike and it’s interesting where the exhausts exit, you could almost hear the salt chomping into the finish of castings etc. Good review 👍
That is a good looking bike
Looks really smart that! I'm quite tempted!
The Ricky gervais biting the bottom lip at the beginning 😂
I want / wanted the Guzzi last year when I first saw it. The S model with the active suspension and color for sure.
As an r1250rs owner, I’m looking forward to the comparison.
Neighbours is coming back to television, UK peeps now got a reason to wake in the morning. Nice review, should be 5 minutes, other 25 watching telly.....
Great review Chopsy , nice looking bike the guzzi . Sounds great as well , I'm surprised your still getting out and about this deep into winter.😮😮 ps the garage is looking great .👍👍 I would be hard pushed to come out of it in this weather 😁 just sit and watch the pole dancers all winter 😀😀😀. Keep it up and safe mate cheers .👍
Haha thanks Wattie, yeah it's hard to pull myself away from the pole 😅 👍
very nice presentation my friend. My question is the following, what would you choose if the budget of money you would have is for 3 motorcycles for daily use but also for longer trips with my partner? street bikes(1 tracer 900 gt plus ) 2)V strom 1050 .3) bmw 1250 rt or the rs version.I will need your help to tell me which bike out of all was the one you liked the most.Thank you very much for your time Be well .
Nice bike Chops bring on the dry weather for a good rip
Beautiful bike, yes
Nice review. I'm 5' 7" and hope I don't need to order the lower seat accessory.
As far as looks go, this bike is a handsome machine.
Isn't it just! 🙌
Nice very interesting review. Love this bike. Out of my reach for now due to current financial pressures but in the fullness of time I would love to own one. Think I prefer this standard version to the S. Also can't wait to see what other bikes they put this engine in too. A new Griso & Daytona would be a great start.
I believe it is gonna be a great year for Guzzi. :) Drop by when have time. You may like it.
Maybe you'll get the V100S this summer. I'm getting the Triumph Street Triple RS Moto2 Edition in June, hopefully sooner. You do great Lamb Chop!
Nice review Chops. Interesting bike. Also nice to see Mrs Chops helping out with the pole work during the intro 😁
Yes she's getting the hang of it! Pun intended 😁👍
Lol, hope Mavis isn’t feeling too left out……..
Great review Chopsy! I've had a look at this at my local dealer. It's a stunning looking bike. I'll have to take a test ride. I actually think the standard version in red or white looks better than the S model. Apparently the reason that the wheels aren't gold on the S model is because the gold didn't go with the different gold colour on the front forks.
Ah well yes guess that makes some sense!
Imagine how nice the S version in green would look with the gold wheels.
Yes exactly Don! Why they don't do gold wheels on the S is very odd..
Especially as the pre-production show bike did have the gold wheels. Go figure...
brilliant!! looking forward to testing one myself, As an ex v11000 sport owner twice there is something about the bikes-is the covered sight glass for the g/box oil it used to be seperate from the engine oil? can you ride in the dark to check the lights? how much heat is coming off the cylinder heads?
Nice fair review…Got a red one sat in the garage , having heated grips and QS fitted on first service ..there are quite a few S model owners a little irked with having the black wheels , almost all wanting the gold . I think you need warmer weather and drier roads tbh ..
Yes conditions not ideal.. but gives me another excuse to borrow it again 😁🙌
It’s very pretty .. Liberace would luv it.
It took me way too long to figure out what you meant by Nelson hahaha. A friend of mine bought one of those, looking forward to see it in the flesh when we go ride together (and maybe have a cheeky go myself)!
Great video as always Chopsy!
Haha yes wasn't going to explain it and see who got it.. dad jokes are the best 😁
It's the Mandello Effect 😁
I'm really taken with this bike 🏍, great review 👍
Nice review of a nice bike John, thanks for sharing. Wheels are only about 30 miles from me, I’ll try to make time to give them a visit, want to look at the RSV4 & Tuono too 🙂
Agree about the styling, except for the exhausts coming out sideways.
I put 38 k on a 96 sport 1300. The most beautiful bike ever made. So smooth its like riding a sewing machine.
Hi from a new subscriber! Great video on the new Moto Guzzi V100. A down-to-earth, comprehensive and honest review. Super stuff. Many thanks.
Thanks David and welcome 🙏
I love my V85TT but will have to think hard when/if the Stelvio version comes out
Nice first ride Chops. I know the audio may not fully represent 'real life' but it didnt half sound good when you revved it out a bit 👌
Yes it does sound brilliant! 👍
When they comes with a V100 Stelvio or Adventure version, my next bike is a Moto Guzzi. Hoping this year.
I've been riding BMWs for thirty years. I just got rid of my 1250RT for this. I no longer need the big tourer and would have gone for the RS had this bike not come along.
Great review, looking forward to the follow-ups. Makes my 850 V7 look a little 20th Century - although I do love it!
Looks great 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice on, like the review
You wouldn't want to drop that one!
What a lovely bike and test on the UK road,, it's cracking and a nice different variation of an iconic engine ,, pulled right up to modern times,,go with my Ducati desmo in lottery land ,, hope it sells well,, deserves to beautiful bike,, the comparison will be Great 👍☘️☘️☘️ channel is going to grow 🪴 with all these cracking videos 😁
Thanks Cecil 👍😁
Appreciate the tall guy ergo comments 👍🏼
That bike really ticks my boxes. There are some things I don't like, and there's a lot of tech there.
But it's cute👍🍻
