What a great bunch of Professional Salt Water Aquarium Installers you had there. Shane and crew should be saluted. Great job, and oh what fun you will have populating this tank. Congratulations!!
Man I’m soo hyped for the aquarium you should definitely get corals I would preferably do a community tank if I were you because it will look dope and surely get some clownfish but if you do a predator aquarium you should get a honeycomb moray eel 👇 Like so nick can see
Awesome! Now get a couple of yellow tangs, butterfly fish, clown fish and some blue damsels. Oh yes try some corals too! Good luck with your new tank!😊
Nick, 2nd time's a charm... you guys did everything right,,,, once you get successful with salt water you will never want to go back to fresh water, except perhaps for some planted freshwater tanks... Saltwater takes some time and a significant amount of understanding,,,, some blue chromis damsels at least 3 would be a good first fish,,,, Stay away from blue mandarins until your tank is about a year,,,,they eat copepods and you need to allow time for the population to build up,,,,, these fish do not eat dead fish food,,,,
Yes of course! Get corals too. Even just the small ones. And we'll always watch your upcoming videos as they grow. Get some different schooling fish maybe
Im so glad I ran into this video of the beginning of the huge tank. You should definitely start adding some coral, It could be so gorgeous and educational to see it come to life. I Love your videos because you not only have whats in your tank but all your excursions finding these same things out in the wild Great Job !
Cow Fish requires a really slow pace on the water, and Puffers can or will nibble on corals if he decides to get that. But else than that , I agree with you. :)
Corals are a must! We had ‘feather dusters’ and they were really cool! I can’t remember the names of the other corals. With fish, you just need to determine if you want an aggressive tank or a community tank. Clown fish can be absolutely stunning!
It's a great head start, but you're missing a few things. Main thing is a smaller, separate tank setup for new arrivals. Most livestock have parasites, diseases, etc. and you want to do your best to minimalize that impact on your display tank, especially as you add more and more to it. Be patient in adding fish. It might be a good idea to let your tank just run empty for about 4 weeks before you add any fish and let a good first cycle run and a lot of parasites, etc. have about a 4 week life cycle without any hosts which helps. Choose your livestock carefully. If you want corals, choose fish that will be well suited for a reef. Some fish eat corals. Also, if you want corals, do your homework on the different types and choose the types that you like because not all corals get along. Just be patient, this is a marathon not a sprint. Enjoy your new tank!
This tank is beautiful the cabinet and all the installation as for fish clowns is a must in a salt water tank buy a rare one . Few fish but more rare that you don't see often in reef tank good video 👌👌👌
A beautiful aquarium, a nice piece of furniture. Truly corals are the key to a salt water tank. It's a must have. After cycled, I vote a lion fish, powder blue tang, bi-color Angel, of course an eel.
I love your videos! Awesome setup! Right now I have a small nano saltwater tank with a royal gramma, a clown goby, and a firefish. They r all hardy and peaceful fish. I would highly recommend them for first timers to saltwater.
Get corals it is the most unique part about a salt water aquarium that really separates it from the fresh water ones. You should talk to experts and other reef UA-camrs first because it can be tough to keep them alive but start small and with easy corals and the more experienced you get the more advanced corals you should get! Love the video I’m so excited to see this tank grow! Also I would love to see lots of smaller fish rather than getting a few large ones!
Yes you should get coral... it just adds a lot more color and nature to the tank. By the way you should get the duo Nemo and dory and probably get lion fish... that would be very cool... Keep up the work nick, you and Paul are MAKING PROGRESS!!!
I highly suggest corals! TIPS: When dealing with Zoanthids (Zoas, for short), or Pulsing Star Polyps, place them on an isolated rock away from the main scape, they grow like weeds! Also, some coral like a lot of flow, so powerheads/wavemakers may be needed. Basically, let your tank mature for about 6 - 12 months for best results, then just research the h*** out of everything your interested in.
You should get some sort of schooling fish. You should try to get really colourful and bright fish to make the tank pop. And definatly get the corals. Love your videos keep up the good work💜🐠🐡🐙🐟
@@PokeGummy thanks. I just know that you can do a lot with saltwater tanks and that's just one of them I thought of that would be cool to see. Especially when it comes to feeding time
you will want coral eventually so plan your fish load accordingly. I'm so excited for you. I've had my reef tank for 7 years and I'm kinda re-invigorated just watching this.
I tried fish only a while back but ended up having to get coral at some point. Now I have a full out reef again. I wondered if you could pass on what type of light is being used in your refugium? It looked simple and not taking up much real estate.
Be patient! Bad things happen fast in a reef tank, and good things take much longer. 30-day quarantine for all fish that are going in. Also, keep everything clean, salt creep gets everywhere with a reef tank. Good luck!
Yes! Live corals would be awesome! Start with crabs and damsel fish
Get corals

get a cow fish and a puffer they have such good personalities, they’re like the flowerhorns of the salt water world
Cow Fish requires a really slow pace on the water, and Puffers can or will nibble on corals if he decides to get that. But else than that , I agree with you. :)
Cowfish are not for beginners, if not taken care of they release toxins that can kill other fish.
What An awesome Sized Tank! Glad The Dream Came Alive !!!!!
Definitely get some corals. They’ll almost become as interesting as the fish.
Corals are a must! We had ‘feather dusters’ and they were really cool! I can’t remember the names of the other corals. With fish, you just need to determine if you want an aggressive tank or a community tank. Clown fish can be absolutely stunning!
