- This NEW COSTCO Golf Ball Will SAVE You Money & SHOTS!? When buying golf balls the typical thing to do is go to your pro shop and buy the most expensive golf ball such as a titleist pro-v1, taylormade tp5 or callaway chrome soft because that is what your favourite tour players such as Jon Rahm, Rory Mcilroy or Tiger Woods use. in this video we take a look at a premium brand golf ball for a budget price that could help you save money and play your best golf ever. should you save money and buy budget golf balls? are cheap golf balls as good as expensive golf balls? what is the best golf ball of 2023? the best budget golf ball of 2023 could well be the costco Kirkland golf ball? or could it be this NEW GOLF BALL from Costco... let's do it... and let's do it now!
James for me at my level as long as its white or any colour actually it's OK for me. But I must admit that I have just played with someone "only use's Pro V1s" for the feel. Well he played of 24, and 5 of the balls he can no longer feel!! He is of my play list after he looked at me askanced at my Kirkland ball
I've bought 24 of these whilst waiting for the Kirkland V3 ball to land in UK stores. I've found these Hex balls to be perfectly fine. Cover isn't very durable but usually I lose them before that's an issue
dang, I thought this was going to be a review for the new Kirkland v3. Interesting to see how this compares for the price though. Crazy how high it spun off the driver, but low off the irons.
As a high handicaper, value is important since I do loose 3-4 balls per round. I do appreciate top quality balls but will only play them on easy holes. I will try the Callaway Hex for sure.
This is the new version of the HEX Soft Costco used to carry. Costco was the only place you could buy them. I played the older version and liked them. Glad to see they have an updated version. I am heading to Costco this week.
Cost at my handicap (13) is important to me. I find I like the softer ball (don't mind the make) as long as I'm getting them for a good price. Either Wilson Duo Soft (€36 euro for 24 at the moment is my current choice) Titleist Tru Feel or something similar. Good to see another alternative to these.
I use TP5 - 5Xs because of the way they feel with my irons and wedges. I tried my wife’s Tour Response and enjoyed the feel of those, just not as much as the TP5s
Totally agree with the Kirkland gloves. As someone with munchkin hands they genuinely are the best fitting glove for me. Got some for Chrimbo (and Balls) and they last well too so well worth stocking up as they are a great alternative.
As for the K balls I tend to use them in matches rather than comps where I prefer the Pro v1
Although you're making a UA-cam video and testing a golfball I like that both you and Dennis are invested in who wins the match.
WHOA! That edit/jump cut at 11:31 was great! 🙌🏾
C-way ERC Soft Triple Track or TM Tour Response for me, all day! (But I do find Kirkland from time to time.)
I always love the “ketchup, toilet role” line. Here in the us we love Costco but Walmart is in most cities just stop in grab a few steaks for the evening and premium golf balls for tomorrows golf round.
As I have only been playing, out of course since Easter, although I did have lessons on the driving range over the winter, I use lake balls as I lose soooo many, but at 40p or so each, I don't lose too much. But I would the Costco balls when I eventually get better
Lol. Lost LOTS of Long Drive contests during a golf outing due to it be NOT ON THE FAIRWAY. so fairway always count. Well done James way to take on Chris Thanks for the video and sharing your fun on the course
I started using the OnCore Elixer golf balls and love them I also feel they are great value for my dollar
I like this series. I do like to use a good golf ball, but not one of the big brands names. Last year used sirxon Q- star and liked them. This year I bought the Seed ball y'all recommended and loved them. Couldn't tell any difference between them, and at half the cost
I bought 1 box loved the response and feel went and got 3 more boxes
I'm always looking for more height out of my irons so I will be giving this one a try. Great review!
I love the Kirkland golf balls, and gloves!!
Here in the states at walmart you can get 24 "stryker" balls for 16 bucks. Ive always wondered how they compare to kirkland and what the carry and spin numbers would be if golfers such as yourself reviewed them.
I think a huge factor is the course you are playing. If the penalty for a wayward shot results in a lost ball I would care more than if I am playing the city courses here in Tucson, AZ. I usually use the same ball for 4 to 6 rounds and then sacrifice it on the range due to scuffing and wear. If I am playing a Peter Dye course where the probability is in how many sleeves, not how many balls, I would lose helps me make the decision to go cheap.
I have bought several boxes of the Kirkland balls and I honestly can't tell the difference between them and the TP5s I also play except for the greater wear seen on the Kirkland balls.
Now that Snell is selling the 5 box set of balls for a pretty large discount, they have become my daily use ball on all courses, a good compromise between performance and durability.
I recently purchased these. I'm looking forward to using them very soon.
‘Caught out there by the balls’😂. I really like the Hex Soft, didn’t know there was a tour version.
I have these and the Costco v2. The only thing I have to say about the callaway is that they scuff easier than the Kirkland. But I like both.
I used to play the Hex Tours when Costco had them years ago (probably a previous model) and they were great! The vanished just before their own ball came out!
hi due to a frozen shoulder i gave up on losing my TP 5 and Srixon Q-Stars and now use Srixon Distance balls, cheap haven't lost much distance and 24AUS dollars, lose as many as I like and no worries
I’ll try them when I next go somewhere with a Costco! Srixon Soft feel are what I currently use.
I have played what I'm guessing is a very similar model in the Diablo tour, and it's a good ball.
I would definitely try these if I could find them. Over here none of big distributors including Dicks/Golf Galaxy carry them and Costco does not either? No idea what Callaway is doing here? Another very good review.
Should compare these to the Kirkland ball since those are a urethane cover and potentially spin like a prov
Definitely mate
I too like the Kirkland balls. See no need to try these. Thank you.
Try MG Golf for full cabretta gloves for 7 & 8 dollars. Great gloves.
Well done James 👏 😊
Congrats on being a new dad James! I'm a new dad myself, my baby was born on May 16th! Looking at my next longest club in my bag for this year! I currently play driver at 240-250 and my 2nd longest club is a 2 hybrid ping 430 @ 15.5 degrees playing 220. My ping g430 sft fairway wood was only going about 185 (same as my 4 hybrid) due to inconsistent strikes, any suggestions?
the kirkland gloves are the absolute best.... I've tried both balls and the Kirkland ball (v2 at least) is far better than the Hex Tour
Should be putting these up agents the KS signature as a RTV clerk should give some insight of who makes them
TM RBZ soft, eBay £30 for 40. I play at a very tough links course, any ball can go in to the gorse 🤪
I use Kirkland ball for every day use but ProV1 when competing.
Nicely done ✅
I think Chris nailed it before the first swing…if the Kirkland ball offers everything this one does plus added controllability and a lower price?
Moved from Titleist Pro V to Bridgestone. May be moving to an even less expensive model. Shooting in low 80’s and even high 70’s at times.
Please take a look at Seed balls. I think they may be the best for the money.
Been playing the Hex for a while, very good. Must be good, as you say they keep selling out.
Surprised you guys dont see the ball marks on the face more often... i get them all the time on my callaway diablo octane while using Pro V1s, even more when hitting range balls....
I am currently playing the Callaway "Warbird" my old favorite!
I feel like the Warbird and other similar “low spin and low cost” balls have less backspin, but therefore also less side spin and then ones hooks or slices are a little less severe and the moderate draws and fades are straighter too. Most golfers bad holes come from errant shots that go to far of line, not from not stopping quickly enough on the green.
Do the Kirkland V3!
Costcos been selling callaway hex tour for 5 years in Canada. I assume even longer in the US
Budget is important. Hence I play with either Kirkland or balls I find!
I would use them sure 15hcp
I love your golf ball reviews but at my level I’m using lake balls. I’m an amateur golfer and playing mode regularly but still not at a great level yet. For me, unless there’s a good alternative to those at a decent price point, I’d rather lose a few cheap lake balls per round than something premium.
Chris dennis love his tips but come on james a pga pro should know how to repair a pitch mark .
Really like the Kirkland ball, so I can't see any reason to try these.
Marks on the Face
My Cobra Clubs (Driver, 3 Wood and 4 and 5 Hybrids) all do this on every shot
I also play Callaway Balls, so maybe the ball is the reason
I never use an alignment mark on my ball so that wouldnt bother me
The new Kirkland ball is out now as well.
Buy more beer with what you save 🎉😂
Found the odd one or two on the golf course and they are ok the be fair but I wouldn’t buy them. Great ball review
Why spend more when the Kirkland is better
I slice every Callaway ball I've tried not for me Taylor Made and Bridgestone work best . I'll pay the difference not to slice
the Kirkland ball is still the ball to beat when it comes to performance and value
Nah...good vid lads though ..better balls about for that price e.g. TM tour response 29.99 yellow and white brilliant ball I'd use them
I'd say the Kirkland is a better value, better performing ball. But if you need a 'brand' name on your ball then these are a great budget choice.
I save money on gloves by not using them. Just hate taking them on and off.
The Kirkland balls don't last, normal use and the Kirkland ball is scuffed and not in playable condition after maybe half a round from the ones I tried. So if the Callaway last it would be better then the Kirkland.
James "The Bush" Robinson!
These balls are way better than others when they go outta bounds.
Do CostCo do tees? That's where you and Chris need to spend more money...
Goodness, could you imagine the size of the bag if they sold tees?!?!? As big as a 10 lb sack of potatoes! 😂😂😂
These companies always say their ball is longer straighter and has more spin, but they never say what they are comparing it to, some balls I have used with the same claims must have been comparing it to a house brick.
Haven’t bought balls in years, just bring your grabber to the course and pull out all the balls you need
The money I save I make up for by spending more on Doombar after a round 😂
How can you expect this ball to spin very much when you acknowledge that it’s raining lightly (spitting you say) so the grass is wet and you were hitting a lot of shots out of the rough? That’s the recipe for “flyers” all day long.
I'm picking up the Kirkland v3.0 golf balls over those all day for better value.
Are they out yet? Didn’t have them when I asked the Mrs
@@JamesRobinsonGolf not in the UK yet James, but in the USA they are
@@JamesRobinsonGolf They are here in the U.S. I've played 4 rounds with them, so far, and am impressed with them vs the version 2. Little less spin (tested on my Bushnell Launch Pro), a touch more distance, but great feel and they still bite really well around the greens. You and Chris will also appreciate the lettering is printed in a bold font now, which helps for putting alignment.
@@SoftMittCheckThanks for the info. They just arrived in my Costco over the weekend. Grabbed a box and will put them in play for the first time tomorrow.
Makes no sense for costco to sell these, kirkland v3 is a better ball all around at a lower price per ball. Havent seen these in the US yet only kirk v3s
£42 online as I wactch @Costco best balls are the ones I find on the course 🤣
If the ball won’t stop on a wedge shot, forget it.
Picked up a box on Saturday on the way to the course and hit my best round of 90! Great ball, have been using the Kirkland balls up until then, might have to switch permanently (plus I’m a whore to the brand! 😂😂)
Hit a 5h 185 yards to 2 1/2’ one bounce and stop I was impressed
Take value any day. All golf balls are going to be lost or cut eventually. 😎
In the fairway is a given for a Long Drive.
You'd never be able to park a golf cart that close to a green in the U.S.
A player that uses ProV1, TP5 etc premium balls wouldn't use these balls. Some of us like the benefits of green holding, geel etc of premium balls. Double digit handicap players might love them though. The 2 reasons NOT to use these. 1) Kirkland balls are higher quality, urethane cover. 2) Callaway wobblesoft controversy about non-centered cores etc is enough to say no thanks
No, quality count s
They are Callaway balls not Costco Kirkland balls
My wife never buys them. She only hits them into the trees. 😉
The faster your swing speed the more benefit your get from balls
Is Chris okay? Every now and then he looked to be limping.
Boring
I don't like a clicking sounding ball! I found the new PXG Xtreme golf balls to be surprisingly impressive and @ $40 a dozen of in my price range! 🐊🏌🦅🇺🇸⛳️
