10:24 Duuuuude, if I was Michael, I would be super pissed off by the fact that the show is getting a different voice actor than me, but they are just going to do an impression of how I voice that character.
Honestly yeah, that's a weird move. At least the other voices have their uniqueness to It. Angel's Is the same but slightly more... Squeaky? Feminine? Dunno how to word It
I do like when people talk about the issues of a 50/50 liked and disliked show (in this case, it’s divided just as much as the difference between Heaven and Hell), because most people watch this show just because they relate to the emotions of the main character and like the art style, when there are A LOT of things to be read between the lines and plenty of absorbers just wanna ignore. Example: 1: Charlie gives specific points about why her people shouldn’t be killed but rehabilitated instead, while Adam and the other angel (don’t remember her name) give more basic points about why they should be killing them and Charlie should just shut up. A circular argument that goes: “Hell exists because of bad people, your people are bad because they’re in Hell.” 2: We give specific points about why this show’s use of potential lacks, while other people give more basic points about why it is a legendary show and we should just shut up. A circular argument that goes: “This show is good because we relate to the superficially and unrealistically bad treatment, and this show has that sort of bad treatment because it’s made for us to relate to, hater.”
I have to agree with your opinion. Because all the episodes are very very fast paced and it doesnt guve a breath to know the characters as a whole of all of that.
All I felt for the world was apathy. Why should I care about the world and characters when there is no breathing room for either of them? The show feels like a highlight reel of a bigger shows best moments.
The more I'm watching what's been coming from Vivz over the last two years or so, including Helluva Boss what I've seen from Hazbin on Prime, the more I feel like the lack of focus from her ADHD is getting the better of her. Helluva Boss has been practically screaming for an editor who can help rein Vivz in to help keep its pacing, comedy, and lore consistent so that the weightier moments feel deserved instead of slapping the audience across the face when they show up from out of left field, and honestly, Hazbin already feels like it's begging for the exact same thing. The blitzkrieg pace the Prime series is going at is whiplash inducing and that's not helped by the fact that it rarely, if ever, takes the time to set anything significant up in advance, a problem that's exemplified all too well by the reveal that the murdered angel's killer is someone we've literally never met before she's introduced as the killer. Before that, the only presence she had in the series at all, to say nothing of the actual story, were two shots that lasted just a couple seconds in total during the opening sequence of the pilot. No speaking lines, no interaction with the cast, just some random slightly menacing looking window dressing that's suddenly been upgraded to the first demon to ever kill an angel during the purges. Talk about disappointing.
I see your points and I agree, it does seem like it’s a rammed with ideas. Perhaps they didn’t get enough episodes for what they needed. But that’s no excuse for this brake neck pacing.
Yeah, they probably didn't get as many episodes as they would have liked, and they're also probably worried they won't get renewed for Season 3. But the response to that shouldn't have been to try and cram 10 pounds of plot in a 5 pound bag.
Even then that’s bad, because there are quite a few story differences between the pilot and full series; so it doesn’t end up feeling all too cohesive.
i always found it weird when people said the voice actors did top performance, when to me some just sounded bored. finnaly someone pointed out the vaggie part. like i looked up her voice and ive listened to it, and she's good. vaggie is so bored sounding. like i dont know how people thought she was trying her best honeslty. as for the animation, my only real decription is that I think some of it looks oddly stilted. although so many "adult" cartoons have abhorrent animation so this was better to look at by comparison. but i noticed its defently downgraded comparing to helluva boss.
It really threw me off guard the first time I heard her new voice. Stephanie is a great voice actor and singer but idk why they directed her to use her Rosa tone & attitude with Vaggie. Especially when she sang and had to use her normal range to do so, why didn't they just let her talk in her usual range? Or at least a tone that could let her emote better. The point with Rosa in Brooklyn 99 was her entire personality was appearing tough and more stoic. But that entire character type did not match up with what they wanted with Vaggie in my opinion.
@@DororoXPenana I mean i'm not very fimilar with voice acting so my standards are pretty low, but even pilot vaggie had more personality, if you're only talking about voice performance. The show to me feels like, monotone soilder, which i guess could be intentional, but to me pilot vaggie did that just okay?
@ArtificialSweetners. From what I recall from old lore streams, yeah (his family were mafia bosses during the Great Depression/prohibition era). I don't blame you for not knowing though, the show does a terrible job explaining backstories.
The pilot should have been recut/reanimated and put as episode 1, sue me. Also, are you interesed in talking about "Mammon's magnificent musical mid-season special"? To me it was the worst written episode so far and it showcases helluva's obsession with making villans paper thin (and boring) caricatures just to prop up other characters.
@@rigboy1234 The Circus is not that bad (excluding Stella's charcater assasination), Seeing Stars and Unhappy Campers are both nothing burgers, but I see how they might compete for the title of the worst. Unhappy Campers more so, but idk if it's worse than any other Moxxie episode.
Bro, I am SO GLAD someone else is talking about how dirty they did Kovach!! (And the rest of the pilot cast) They replaced him.. but then asked the replacement to sounds just like him? What? And we KNOW it’s not because Kovach couldn’t sing like Angel, because he proved that in Addict.
Is it really? I mean, I liked it a lot but call the rest of the series "good" seems to be kinda of a big stretch (except for episode 4, that one is a banger from beggining to end)

The art style for new hazbin reminds me too much of teen titans go and I can't unsee it.

5:38 I just recently had a short talk with someone trying to justify this cheesy and annoying excuse for exposition so this was nice to hear.
9:54 I still don’t know what Angel said at the start to this day. “ifenyeu filming a commercial-“
What does ifenyeu mean 😭
"If'n ya" it's kind of like a slang form of "if you are"
It's New Yorker for "if any of you are" or "If you will".
